****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

I'm confused the blog states guests will enjoy the re-imagined TT in fall, but wouldn't that mean it goes down for us traveling in May? TT wasn't there when I visited when in I was 10 so I don't even know what I would be missing :rotfl:

Thinking about it. You're probably actually right (:guilty:), I think I misread due to my optimism that it wouldn't impact me. You're right it suggests it'll up in the fall. Still no dates mentioned as to when it'll be closing TT. What they are suggesting the new ride will be doesn't sound as though it will take up even a fraction of the space that TT does!

I hope it's up in May... Many people in my group never got to ride the first version of it. =/

I was a little bummed to read this announcement. I understand replacing GM with Cheverlot, but I was just hoping with BTMRR and Fantasyland finishing up, WDW would leave TT open. I love Epcot, but as far as rides go, TT is one of few. And now the lines for Soarin' are going to be even more crazy!:scared1:

Touring Plans just reported on the press release for the refurbishment with the line: "As far as we know the schedule is still April 15 to September 21, 2012."

Very much sounds like us May'ers will be unlucky on this one.

Boo! Not what I wanted to hear...I was hoping they would close it say...June 8th (after I leave) ;)

Bummer, I was so excited about that ride for my 5 year old son as he's getting old enough to ride some of the bigger rides. With that and the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed I'm kind of disappointed!

I can live without Thunder Mountain, seeing as there's other roller coasters I enjoy more... but the test track makes me a tad sad. =/ I was really looking forward to getting the kids on it for the first time...

I guess there's still technically hope for BTMRR as officially the refurbishment work is scheduled to finish in April. I think that's what the Disney website has up?

I'm disappointed with TT but mainly because it seems all the grandeur is going to be lost with the new ride - it's also going to mean that getting to EPCOT ASAP in the morning for the Soarin' FP is even more important now.

Hello May folks, we are in May 26 to June 4:cool1: My birthdays the whole month of May:lmao::rotfl2: We love TT really hate to hear that it will be down. We also love BTM so hopefully it will be up. I will stay tuned for all updates:thumbsup2

We are going MAY 22-27 :yay: This is going to be our baby's first visit. He will be 7 months old. Our DD will be turning 14 the next week. PLUS we will be going to FPEA convention AND Star Wars weekend!:)
We are staying 22-25 at Bay Lake Towers and May 25-27 at the Beach Club villas

We're going May 22-29 and staying at Coronado Springs. :D It will be our first trip. We're super excited!:woohoo:

I just looked at the blog post again and Test Track will definitely be down for May. D: Someone commented asking, "Any idea when the ride will close?" and the lady who wrote the post replied, "It will go down in April and reopen this fall." (Link to blog post, the comment I'm talking about is comment #29: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...e-designers-seat-this-fall-at-epcot/#comments). Wicked bummed because I love this ride. I am looking forward to seeing the changes, but wish it would be open in May.

We might go if they offer FD for the end of May. and by might I mean it is about a 1% chance. DW is burnt out on Disney.

I don't understand why Disney does several different projects at once. They should focus on one thing, get it done QUICKER and then move on. Fantasyland could be done so much sooner if they weren't refurbing a bunch of other things at the same time. It makes for a poor experience when visiting during these unfortunate times.

DS is going to be so mad :( and DD too if she's tall enough to finally ride TT!

To me it just gives us another excuse to return in 2013! We will have to see what the new rides are like! There is so much to do at Disney that two rides down still leaves so much to do in seven days. The new Dumbo ride will be running and the Tiki room was closed when we were there last May so we have that to look forward to also.

My family and I visited the world last March (My and our daughter Emmalee's first visit) We had the the time of our lives, and we are thinking about returning again this May.

We had such a good time last March, that we booked another trip for September of 2011, but had to cancel. We stayed at CBR in March of 2011, and this time we are thinking of staying at Coronado Springs.

Has anyone stayed at Coronado Springs? From what I've read and seen, it seems quite nice.

I'm getting so excited just thinking about it, that I may just have to book it tonight!

Go Lions! :thumbsup2

We stayed at Coronado Springs last May and loved it. The resort is so beautiful. We loved walking around the lake and over to EL Centro. The Mayan pyramid at the pool was pretty neat also. The rooms are great and the queens beds are super nice. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

CSs is a great resort, it won't disappoint. Have a great trip:banana:

YAY for 1st trips!!! We stayed at CSR last year... it was great!
