Official May 2011 thread!

YAY!!!!!! Just paid mine off! I am so excited, now I can totally focus on what we are going to do each day, Looking forward to the mickey mail, although I know I have some time before we get it, we are 50 days out!!

We've decided not to do a split stay and changed our reservations to just the CBR. I was so happy that I was able to keep the same rate I had when I booked under the promo (that had already ended) and there were no change fees. I paid off the trip yesterday and my mother paid off her's too! We are ready to start packing!

Well, yesterday I went clothes shopping for myself and then went through my closet and drawers and pulled out the things I already have that I want to take with us and put them in a pile in my room. Then I went through my kids things that will be going with us and placed them each in piles. Now all I have to do is get DH off of his butt and go shopping for him. The problem with him is that he is such a procrastinator that he would wait until the day before we leave to go shopping. Oh well, at least it still gives me something to do for the next 27 days, rather than just twiddling my thumbs and thinking about our trip all of the time :rotfl:

Paid it all off this morning at 45 days, woot!
The husband and I got our yearly bonuses yesterday, perfect timing, it really feels like we were MEANT to take this vacation!

Pooh, it's a good thing you're on top of things and not a procrastinator. In our household we both wait till the last minute. :D

I get to go clothes shopping for me three days before we leave.. :lmao: It is driving me crazy!! But I just packed my three youngest kids bags, today. It is so nice having all of them done. Now I just have to worry about getting my teenager to pack and my SO. My SO is just like your DH, I KNOW he will be at Meijer or Wal-mart the night before our trip at like 11 at night shopping for his clothes. :scared1::rotfl: That is what he did last year.

Only 23 days and some odd hours before I am on my way!!!

22 more days!!!! I cant believe it's almost here!!!! It looks like it's been really hot there recently. What do we think it'll be in May? We have been when it's been in the low 80's, but also in 2009 when it hit 100!!!:scared1:

100?!? Wow, that would be crazy! Oh, well, that just means more trips to the hotel pool and afternoon breaks....we can handle that! :)

Under a month now!!!! Only 29 days!!! :cool1:

I've also heard people commenting on the heat so far this year! But we can't wait for it :cool2:--it's not warming up much yet here in VA.

Our plane leaves at 8:20 (ish, they keep changing it by a few minutes) We land at MCO by 10:59 as of right now. :cool1:

am or pm?

My husband does the same thing! Of course, he's also the one running around in the mall on the day before Christmas Eve.:lmao:

We aren't too terribly worried about the heat and humidity. We are from Louisiana and are pretty used to it. Today our high is supposed to be 88 degrees. I can tell we are in for one HOT Summer. Having said all that, I am still planning to take breaks during our park days because my 77 year old mother will be with us.

We arrive in the a.m. I'm hoping that we get to the resort by 2 at the latest, then we can go to Epcot for a while... or MK.. or AK... I still don't have it nailed down. :lmao:

The past few years we've arrived between 10 and 11 in the morning and we were at our resort by noon :) Ate lunch at the resort then headed out to a park (MK of course!). Good news for you! MCO and ME did not seem to be busy during the week in the morning. :thumbsup2

This year we opted for an arrival flight later in the day (we added an extra night to our trip since we were doing this). We'll just enjoy our resort once we get there and then go to bed early so we can be up early for MK the next day.

We are actually arriving at 5:40pm so by the time we get into our room it will be LATE! I hope they are all up to going to Epcot, it's in walking distance AND has late hours.

That is awesome news!! We usually drive, so this is new for us. With gas prices and the cost of food getting to and from when driving is really close to the cost of flying. So we opted to fly instead. I'm so excited! We added an extra day at the end of the trip so that we could get a later flight home. The day we were originally leaving we would have been on the ME by 8am... I was not having that. So we added an extra night and got a later flight. lol

We are also going to MK early in the morning. We have a 8:05 ADR at CP. So that is why the park we go to the day before is up in the air. We don't plan on staying late. I was leaning towards Epcot, because that is my kids favorite place to be and we can just go to the WS if it is to busy. Then the kids can get some characters out of the way early in the trip. Or we could go to MK and just enjoy any short lines or take in Main street. OR we could go to AK and walk the trails and take the train maybe catch a show? So many choices... :lmao:

Epcot is a fun park, there is so much to do with out having to wait in lines. My kids absolutely love everything there, that is hands on. We spent 5 hours doing all the hands on things last time we were there... That doesn't include the stuff after you ride space ship earth. That was another morning that was raining and we spent a long long time playing the energy game. We had 8 days last time and 3 of the days were spent entirely in Epcot. :lmao: I think this time will be similar, since SO does not care for MK when it is busy and we have park hoppers this time around.

I like Epcot a lot. The only park I am not a huge fan of is Animal Kingdom. I like it, just don't love it.

I wanted to post this picture of our countdown chain (this pic is full size - 30 days, but we have torn off 2 already)

Awesome!!! We had one last year that had over 120 rings on it when we first made it. We had it draped around our living room. :rotfl: This year is a surprise, so we have no count down... :sad1: I don't think I will have a surprise trip for the kids again after this one. I miss the build up. I'm sure when we tell them. (Which will be the day before we leave) They will not sleep the night before we leave.:rolleyes1 I hope they do though.
