Has anyone visited during the annual passholder block out dates for Spring Break? Curious if it helped with crowds or it was still crazy busy

Mardi Gras trip staying at PO-FQ March 2-March 8. Seeing parks at relaxed pace. Wife getting to do her dream Wild Africa Trek at the AK. Tuesday spent at the hotel watching the Mardi Gras parade and enjoying the festivities.

Last year, Allears mentioned that this seemed to help. It wasn't a study or anything - they just happened to be at HWS during that week and noticed that it was less crowded than they had expected. I also think they talked to a CM who said it was because of the blackout dates.

Since I had to book in March, I ended up choosing those dates and now hoping for the best. We'll find out!

That is our spring break, hoping to have minimal crowds but Christmas week was bad from what I saw

I decided to take the plunge and order all new magic bands for my family. Our old ones are over 4 years old. We leave in 50 days.

Hi all! We just booked for March 30-April 2. It will be my first trip alone with just my oldest daughter. I am super excited (and a little nervous). I have never done a trip alone with her before and we haven't been to WDW in a decade and so much has changed.

I would recommend watching vlogs to get familiar with the parks, hotels, and Fastpass options/workings as well as strategies

I spent the morning organizing our trip on my spreadsheet. It's the only way I can understand the logistics. I initially felt bad about wasting a morning, but then I realized this trip is a huge investment and deserving of my time.

For the first time, I've finally scheduled a rest day during our trip. No parks! Just pool and chill! I have an AP, but I am only buying single-park tickets for the kids. I find that we rarely park hop, and it's not worth the $202 extra. Plus, I spend more $ on LL's so we can hit the faves. With all this extra Mickey money I think I have, I'm debating on getting a premier pass for MK or HS. Luckily, I've got a few weeks to read more about it before purchase time.

I also wanted to take advantage of my booking window and make a few reservations for lunch. Since we aren't park hopping, we'll likely do full days and want a place to rest and cool off. I booked Space 220 and Via Napoli at EPCOT. I will also offer Garden Grill, as we've never eaten there. I will poll the kids after school today and drop one of those. I booked Mama Melrose (lunch) Fantasmic dining package at HS, and a Dessert Pre-Party at MK.

Phew! It's now 58 days and counting. :goodvibes

It was 5 degrees here this morning, and I'm looking forward to warmer weather. How's everyone else holding up?

We are finally out of the single digit temperatures, although it is still cold out. I'm keeping an eye on airfare. It is still pretty high. Otherwise. we are all set. It should be great weather in Florida during our March trip. And Flower and Garden is one of our favorite festivals. :)

Got ALL of my ressies I wanted PLUS the Wild Africa Trek..l don't know what's up with the week we're there, but this was the easiest time I've ever had trying to book. Everything I wanted was available exactly when I wanted it. Not complaining.....but that has never happened before....and I've been probably 25 trips now?

Congratulations! I was surprised too. Maybe people are holding off on trips until all the new enhancements are in place...?

I think the March crowd is affected by two main factors - scheduled school holidays and religious holidays. Since some schools base their spring break on the Easter holidays, their breaks will be in April. Easter Sunday is April 20th this year. I think will help lower the crowds in March. Although I still think it will be crowded. March has great weather. :)

Same. I've spent the last 3 trips trying to get anything at Space 220. For March I got both a dinner and a lounge reservation. Times aren't ideal but just the fact that I got them was such a win.

Speculation time: who thinks Jellyrolls will stay open through March? Give me hope please - I’d really like to go!!

Hi! We have a trip mid-March. Family of four; we are staying at the Poly for the first time. Other than a visit to Chef Mickey’s 10 years ago, we literally have not set foot on or near a monorail resort. I’m excited to explore the whole area and hopefully we have set aside enough “chill” time for me to enjoy Poly and visit GF. I’d love to make it over to Wilderness Lodge as well.

Like others here, I was surprised at how easy it was to get my dining reservations! I didn’t even do it at the crack of dawn. Homecomin’ was the only one that I had to settle for a slightly off time (4:30), but that’s a far cry from last May when the only thing available, if at all, was 10pm. Other reservations I got with ease for this time are Ohana dinner, Roundup Rodeo lunch, and Kona Cafe breakfast. All are new to us! I’m not keen on going to Roundup (I generally don’t enjoy table service in the parks), but my daughter requested it. So I view it as an adventure to just try it out.

We usually only visit two parks when we go. The plan this time was a Hollywood Studios Day plus a Magic Kingdom After Hours ticket (on separate days). But we just can’t resist Epcot and Cosmic Rewind (and World Showcase), soooo I added another park day. 🙃
