Official London / Paris / Disneyland Paris Thread

so no triste gâteau petit crabe

Today was one of the perfect days in my life.

John and I did not go to Versailles. We had had enough Palaces for this trip.

Today, John surprised me with a private van and driver and we had 8 hours to do anything I wanted to do in Paris.

Completely amazing and the the PERFECT DAY.

I have no idea why, but this got me a little teary eyed. Guess it's the :cloud9: of it all.

OMG Kevin that sounds awesome!! Yay for John!

Hope you enjoy your dinner at Laduree it's a favourite of mine :)

What a fabulous gift!! I'm a little teary also :)
Thanks again to all who are posting updates - I look forward to each and every one!

It's too bad you were "palaced out" - as Versailles is lovely. I love palaces, but can take only so much art viewing at one time. My daughter and I spent about 30 minutes in the Louvre last summer...just long enough to say hello to Lisa and skedaddle!

skipping versailles is no biggie in my book....i totally get the one too many palaces syndrome!!

i can't wait to hear all about your perfect day!! :goodvibes

We are having the most wonderful trip.

Today started out at Notre Dame and a tour. You were welcome to climb to the top if you wished or you could shop and wander for a while.

Amazingly beautiful place.

After that, we too a boat tour up and down the Seine on the BateuxBus,

Then we went to lunch at the Eiffel
Tower (first level). The food was very good and the view spectacular.

We were encouraged to go to the second or third level Iif we liked. I
made it to the second level and decided that was enough.

The lines for the elevators up and down were enormous and chewed up a lot of time.

After a short ride back to the hotel, we are getting ready for dinner at Laduree.

Tomorrow we head for DLP for the last leg of this adventure. As I thought, I am madly in love with Paris and don't want to leave.

I haven't seen the Musee D'Orsay or visited a Paris street market or walked the Champs Elysee or visited enough patisseries.

If given the option, I would gladly give up DLP for a few days here in Paris.

I'm in love.

More later.

Is that an option? What about changing your flight home by a few days so you can return to Paris after DLP?

Wow Kevin, sounds absolutely perfect, knowing how excited you were to go to DLP I can't imagine how amazing it all must be. Thanks for sharing with all of us, living vicariously through you!

sounds lovely...
another must see for us are the gardens of the Rodin museum!
also a stroll around Le Marais..

in the Orsay museum, of course my kids cracked up when they saw Whistler's Mother - they'd just seen the mr. bean movie...

Wow. Those are some amazing pictures! For me, I never thought lugging around a big camera and equipment was worth it, but it's totally worth it when Mike does it. :thumbsup2

I had totally forgot about the Square trees in France.

ahhhhh!!!! Paris!!!

Hoping you find you love DLP!!!!

Loving the updates from all the various travelers & really enjoying living vicariously on your trip.

The pictures are incredible!

Ready to see how you all like DLP.

Can't wait to hear all about it when you get home.

We loved the Rodin Museum and gardens! Another first for us last summer was the nearby Invalides. We didn't spend much time in the military museum there, but the church where Napoleon is entombed is beautiful.

I'm not big on art museums, but I loved seeing Monet's water lilies at Musee de l'Orangerie: http://www.musee-orangerie.fr/
