Official last day of Kong

The last day to see Kong is Sunday, September 8th.

That's it, so come say bye to the monkey by then!

By the way, also official, the "exciting new world class attraction that replaces Kong will be announced in the Spring of 2003".

(That's a full year before it opens)

What's Kong? Since we won't be there until Oct. is it something I'll be sad to have missed?

They are talking about that Attraction centered around King Kong. If I rember correctly it's one of the first attractions that opened with the park. Many people are glad to see it go because it shows its age...many consider it a classic of the stuidos. Either way the mystery planned replacment should be great from the clues that have been dropped about it.

Thanks for the warning. We scheduled IOA on September 9 and the Studios on the 10th. I guess we'll have to try to get to the Studios to see Kong's Farewell on the 8th instead.

That means (if I'm doing the math right) that the place will be closed for about one and a half to one and two thirds years!

They must be planning to put something humongous in there, like "Barry Hom vs. Extended Stay."
