I just changed my rental to Alamo. I got $118 for June 6-13. I don't have an American Express which had the best deal, and some of the codes listed above expire before my rental. However, I used a discount on the Visa website for 20% off and $30 off at rental. It was ID# 7015504 and Coupon Code AD2338FDF (found via mousesavers.com) Good luck finding a good rate!

I ended up reserving a midsize (Toyota Corolla) for $132 (including all fees) from June 11-18 from Alamo with the above VISA codes. Hotwire has been running around $150-170 for something similar so it seems like a fairly good deal.

Finally got a better price (than $1228) for a minivan mid-late June. Pick up at San Francisco Airport and drop off at LAX. I'm used to planning WDW trips and FL rentals. California rentals are sooo much higher.

Dollar Car Rental code 3C10M yielded us $868. That includes all taxes, fees, etc as well as a $300 one way drop off fee.

If anyone finds any codes with a drop off fee waiver, I would certainly appreciate it.

Using the Alamo Insider 20% off & $40 coupon, I got our full size down to $89.50 for 6/1-6/8. I can't believe how low it's gotten since we started at $245!

I really wanted to use Alamo for our trip, Unfortunately when I try to book a 1 way rental from San Francisco, I get the message "Sold Out". This has been since 8 months ago. This applies to all size cars. I was told that means they are not accepting 1 way reservations this time of year between my 2 locations.

Got my rental down to $118 today on Alamo.com for a midsize (all inclusive). It was $132 when I initially booked yesterday so it looks as if prices are still going down!

I'm down to $78 with Alamo american express and insiders $40 coupon. How in the world can they give you a car for 6 days for that little? It's almost free! Super happy!

I know I am so jealous with the rates for the beginning of June. I know my rate is higher since it is a one way rental from southern Florida to MCO. My rates started out at well over $400.00 and know have it down to $180.00 with Thrifty. I am hoping Alamo ( using Visa codes and coupon) will go down soon, but I am really hoping for National to go down. Last time on the Emerald Isle I was able to get a new Chevy Equinox with the same intinerary.

me toobut i'm not holding my breath. my experience is that national's non LDW type rates tend to be priced higher than their sister company Alamo, even when utiliizng the 'best' discount code/coupons. National has executive & VIP programs in place that reward frequent customers who willingly pay the slightly higher fares to keep their status (along with associated percs) and receive good customer service.

I am using these codes & rates are down again. I just saved another $20 by modifying my reservation for 6/6 - 6/15. My cost is just over $158. Hopefully they keep coming down. Mine are down almost $40 from when I booked it a month ago.

It is fine as long as you have an AMEX card and Costco membership.
