We are looking for a minivan in California (Pick up San Francisco and drop off LAX) for 10 days for the second half of June. The best I can get so far is $1229 (total with tax and all additional charges) I realize the one way rental really adds to the final price but this seems very high to me.

We are booked with Dollar using the City Special Rate but all of the other agencies we checked come in around $1600!

From past WDW trip planning, I know many rates are applicable to Florida only. I thought if we consolidated the June codes in one place, we could help many people out.

So far the best I found was Dollar's City Rate Special.

I also have a one way rental, however my rental starts off in southern Florida and end up in Orlando.

This morning I a rate of $239 (includes all fee and taxes) for a standard car from Alamo using the visa contract number and $30.00 off coupon. I am hoping to get a better rate. Last week I was getting rates around $197 on Hotwire, but I was hestitant to book since you are stuck with that rate. When I looked at the rates again today, the Hotwire rate was just as high as the Alamo rates I was getting. Rates with Hertz, National, Budget and Thrifty were significantly more (just at or over $300).

We like to use Alamo and usually get a good price for our WDW trips. But this time for our Calif/Disneyland trip when I try to book a pick up in SF anddropoff at LAX it says "no vehicles available for your time period". Same for National. I called was told that they do not allow one way rentals during our time period.

Glad to see your price is better. Hopefully as June approaches, more applicable codes will become available.

I'm still waiting to see if I can score a better deal when Mousesavers comes out with coupons/codes for June. Right now I have a car for a week for $171 including taxes.

Do you mind if I ask what agency and what codes you used? My rate for the first week of June is $250 total so $171 would be much better. Although still hard to take when I paid $75 total for 7 days in February!!

Thanks for your help. :)

Just keeping my fingers crossed that when more June coupon codes come out, things will get a bit better -pricewise.

We use USAA as our bank, so I got that rate through them. However, I have found similar rates on carrentalsavers.com (I think it was about $180 last time I checked). It seems like the prices have just been going up since I booked though! I booked that car back in Janurary. Good luck finding a better deal!

Thanks for the info. We are still waiting patiently for more June codes to come out (especially for minivans).:)

Alamo rates are down for my May 31-June 7 reservation. With entertainment book code and coupon I got $150 all inclusive.

I am needing a one-way rental from June 12-18 from MCO to SDF (Louisville, KY). I booked a mid-size SUV from Hertz for $239 for the week. THey are running specials on one-way rentals out of Florida right now on certain vehicles.

I have been watching rates. I have a one way rental from Alamo for $239.00 for a standard car. Today I was able to book standard car from Thrifty for $182.00 using the MagicCard code. This rate is comparable to Hotwires current rates.

The codes I was using for Alamo are for Visa card users. 7015504 corp ID and AD2338FDF $30.00 off valid until 10/31/11. The $40.00 Insider code expires prior to my trip. Checking today, Alamo is up now to $269.51.

I am still hoping that National rates will go down. My travel dates are June 18 to June 25.

Any one have experience with dropping a car off at MCO with Thrifty? We will be picking the car up from southern Florida.

Just re-posting this - thanks Jorge! - in case it can help someone else. With the amex code, I was able to get our Alamo rental 6/1-6/8 full size down to $135.88! So excited and looking forward to getting there!

Thanks so much! I don't have an AMEX, but was able to lower my rental by about $50 using these codes. Question - Will I need to give them any sort of physical coupon? When I did the rental it had a red paragraph that said I "may" need to provide the coupon. Is this just a auto response anytime you put in a coupon code? I did sign up for the Insider program, so I assume I'll be okay, yes?

Thanks!

I was able to find a coupon (thru USAA) to lower my Budget rental by $35, so I'm down to about $145 for a week. Question though - has anyone had trouble getting them to accept a coupon? The quoted price doesn't include the coupon discount, and the fine print says that coupons will be deducted at the time of rental. Just want to make sure I get the right rate!

The rates dropped again on Alamo. You can go in a modify your res. it will use the same codes but give you the new price. Super easy. Dropped from $108 to $94 for June 2-8. Every dollar counts right?

Thanks for all the helpful tips!!!! I am now down to $189 (for everything) on a 9 day 2 hour rental. I used the previously mentioned amex code and the $25 off coupon. I'll keep watching and see how low it can go. :)

Look at your rates for June. Rates went down with Alamo. I am checking out the other rental car suppliers.
