*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

How exciting! We'll be at Jambo House too. I would love to coordinate a meeting.

My first DISMeet - yeah! :cool1: I told my DD that you have 2 DDs that are her age and she was all kinds of happy. June 3 is our move day from BLT to AKV. So hopefully we can work something out.

Is anyone else nervous about the weather for June? We have never been before, but a friend of mine went last year in June and said it rained everyday. We are going June 9 though the 14th. I don't that we will ever get to go back so I want to make the most out of our trip. I think I have planned everything, but it looks like we will be running from very early morning until night to be able to do everything. I am now very nervous about rain. Anyone have thoughts or experiences to share?

I got a Mine Train FP+ today! Woo hoo! Now I can stop messing with my FPs! 42 days until we start the drive down!

Did anyone else have weird FP+ issues today? I would look at my MDE itinerary and it showed everything fine - all my FP+ were there. But then when I tried to modify the FP+, I got a message saying "We're sorry! Your party has no FP+ for this day."

Then I'd go back to the itinerary, and yes, there were all my FP+!

I'm assuming the system got wonky because of the mad rush of people who went on to get Mine Train.

I had the same issue! It took me about 3hrs to get my 7DMT FP+ the way I wanted it. I've heard the server crashed. Can you imagine what happened to the people in the parks today? Yikes!

Also, while I just said I was done messing with my FPs, do you think Kali would be a better use of FP than Dinosaur in the summer?

In the summer, yes, I'd say so.

BTW, I just checked to see if MDE was still acting up. I can't even get in. I get a cute picture of Olaf chasing his head saying "Oops! We can't load this page. try again later."

Yup, I got Olaf a lot today! Keep trying, I got through on the website, not the iOS app. After many attempts throughout the day, with many system crashes on MDE, I GOT IT!

I had this theory that they would release the 7DMT FPs at midnight eastern time so I've been checking every night at 9pm here. I especially thought it might happen last night but nothing. Not sure when they opened it up but I got on the computer about 6:20am before work and there it was.

I got FPs for June 20th and 25th. When I tried for the 30th, it said I had no FPs then said I can't make any because I already have them and then I got message about the system being "challenged". So I went to work and figured I would miss out, but at least I had the others. After work I was able to get one on the 30th too. So I'm happy! :)

Jessie, We went last year for the 2nd week of June. (Going again this year the same time T-35 ) While it did rain 4 of the 7 days, by no means should it ruin your trip. Heck we took our DD6 the first night when we arrived and it was pouring out. After spending a little extra to replace our .99 ponchos with Mickey ones, we were able to walk onto rides because the park wasn't as busy.

If it does rain, grab a rain coat, bring an extra poncho if you have a stroller and enjoy the parks!

A few items to take with you if it may rain during a day trip to the park

-Croc's or Flip flops to wear when walking in the rain
-Extra poncho for a stroller if you have children
-Gallon sized zipper bag in your bag/backpack for Phones/Wallets/camera

When all else fails and the rain starts coming sideways, duck into a show of some kind, or get something to eat.

Ponchos and rain jackets... We invested in nice breathable rain jackets, and the ponchos are extra because we are not used to rain.
This is why I like Southern California, it doesn't rain here. :-) When it does rain, people magically disappear at Disneyland.

Yes, having lived in California my entire life, it does seem odd to me that there would be rain in summer! I decided that we won't bring ponchos. We will buy them there the first day we need them. One less thing to pack. I assume they sell them everywhere, right?

Yes, they sell them everywhere!! I do the same thing, one less thing to pack and sometimes we have lucked out and missed the rain by either being inside eating or it just missed where we happened to be!

I would leave the ponchos too, but I don't want to spend another $50 on new Disney ponchos for my family... :-( I am a bit of a cheapskate.
When compressed, five ponchos don't take up that much space (about the same amount of space as a pair of pants.)

I just spent a good chunk of today optimizing touringplans for my trip. I have them all the way I want then except for my second Epcot day. For some reason it really wants me to walk back and forth across the park a bunch of times and do VoL separate from American Adventure. I will have to spend more time on this later. I have had enough for today.

On a happier note I am 41 days from when we leave! Woo hoo!

I agree! I bought some dollar store ponchos that I'm bringing. I'm also going to bring rain jackets but only take them to the parks if rain is forecasted for the day. Then again I'm driving so I have more space than those of you hopping on a plane :)

I spent most of my days doing this today too. Touringplans didn't like my choice of FP+ times. It wanted me to move them later in the day. I was hoping to use them and then get a 4th. I did the best I could. We'll see if it works. If not, we will be fine. No worries:yay:

46 Days until we leave and I have a sudden attack of Extreme Impatience. So much to do before we go, so I really have no business trying to rush the trip but what I know and what I feel are not even remotely related today :rolleyes1

Opened the mail box and our first set of Magic Bands had arrived!!!:yah::yah: This trip is finally getting real. We are less than 26 days now, and I don't know who is more excited: me or DD? I guess it's time to start packing and see how much stuff I need to eliminate.

On the topic of poncho's, I've got a bunch of the Dollar Store ones, but if it really seems like rain, I plan to get the Mickey ones there. Right now I'm trying to figure out what bag to carry this trip. Disneyland is easy; I use my Disneyland drawstring bag. But this trip, I have a DSLR I'm taking so I'm "thinking" maybe I need a better bag. And now all of a sudden DD has decided she wants to carry one too, so that she can have a water bottle. Great, less stuff for me to carry, but now I have to worry about her remembering here's.

What do you guys think? Is 10 too young to be responsible for your own bag in the parks???

This happened to me too and I broke my Epcot day into 2 different plans and it finally worked
