Post your deals, codes, coupons, and great rates here for July 2011.

I am currently looking for a rental out of MCO July 18-27, and have not had too much luck. I know it's early to be finding the best deals -- but I enjoy the hunt!

Kathy

I have the same dates (Jul 18- Jul 27) as Tiki.

Dollar (Wyndham Resort, DTD) Minivan $337 total, booked Feb 2011

Dollar (Wyndham Resort, DTD) Full Size $254 total, booked Feb 2011

Budget (Doubletree, DTD) Minivan $399 total (BCD X474200, Coupon MUGZ029)

Everything at MCO is close to $1000 for the same period. I'm hoping for Alamo to come down so that we can pickup at the Car Care Center.

The cheapest I can find is Budget out of MCO for July 1 -16 at $568 including all the taxes and fees. Would LOVE to get it under $400.

Try using these codes from Budget. Travelocity public code BCD X474200 and coupon fo r$30 off MUGZ029. Prices w/o taxses for your dates as of now are Compact/Econo $257, intermediate $277(368 with tax), Full size $308, Premium/standard suv/minivan $315 (418 with tax).

Try going to www.carrentalsavers.com they have alot of coupons, and sign up with the rental companies rewards programs for emails etc. best of luck :)

Any other good discounts for July yet? So far the Budget code and coupon are the best deal I've found. I'd rather rent from Alamo or National though.

WooHoo! Just got economy car July 1 to July 15 through Priceline for $12 a day, total $291 (including taxes).:cool1: No more searches!!:cool1:

I bid $13 a day on Priceline for a Mid-size at MCO and it was accepted by Hertz. I ended up upgrading to a full-size for $18 a day. Ten days total $279.25. Probably not the lowest price I could find, but I was ready to be done with it.

:)Just booked an economy car on hotwire from june 29-july 4 for 179.70 for the 5 days. Now dont need dining plan

I just used priceline for july 21-29. My rate ended up being $18 a day, $144 before taxes and $222 after taxes and fees. This rate is with hertz for a full size car. Far better than my other quotes. Hotwire was $258.

I am renting for a month, most of that is at the beach, with a few Disney days, mid July - mid August. I can't do Priceline because they only accept 28 day rentals, mine is 30. The best rate I've found so far is Alamo, Insiders code (it's added automatically) with the free upgrade coupon (right on their website, it's good through the end of the year) midsize for a total of $666. Insiders get a free additional driver. I even played around with renting week to week and can't beat the monthly rate. I still hope to pay less, but it works out to $166.50 a week for now.

We are looking to pick up July 9 and return July 15 at Dolphin. We are Alamo Insider members and I am trying to use the $30 off coupon. No matter what kind of car I select, i says the coupon can not be applied to reservation.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

@dvc...you have reached the dreaded SUMMER SEASON BLOCK. Although the coupon does not say it, if you call they will tell you there is a block on most coupons during the "busy summer season". Alamo is pretty good with last minute rates. Makes planning a pain. Wait until about 2 weeks before your rental and they will have special rates.

i booked mine many months ago National ExecA using the then-current borders code. I recently added on a $35 coupon

8 days for fullsize @ $188xx beginning 7/23

it seemed high when i 1st booked it, now im hoping that my Oct one currently near $300 will drop to that point

I keep modifying up to the bitter end:wizard:

I've never used Priceline before for cars ... is that good ? Will I be able to guarantee a rental from one of the "on site" MCO rental companies, rather than the offsite agencies ? Also, is there any extra fee to have a second drive (my wife) on the rental ?

I've got a trip from 7/13 through 7/26, and I'm currently sitting on a $440 rental for a full size at Budget made back in January. Haven't found anything better yet from my usual sites.
