I posted a little about me on the "take the WISH challenge" thread, but I thought I'd make a seperate post to tell a little more about me, so I can get started getting to know people!
I'm Josie, I'm 26, and I live just outside St. Louis MO. I have a wonderful husband, Mike, who is a systems administrator for a government office in downtown St. Louis. I have 3 kiddos. Nick will be 7 a week from today, and he lives with my mom (long story), but we visit him a lot. He wants to go to Disney World on an airplane, and I'm hoping to make that dream come true for him! Margaret is 4. Today she told me when she grows up, she wants to be "big". LOL She wants to go to Disney World to meet the Princesses. Aidan is 2, and severely autistic. He doesn't know what Disney World is, but I know he's gonna love it!
I have about 62 lbs to lose to get to a healthy weight for my height and body type, and about 77 to get to my pre-child weight, which is a goal I really hope to accomplish, but I'll be happy just getting healthier! I've tried both WW, and South Beach, and a few other diet plans, and personally, I just don't do well with plans that tell me exactly what I can and cannot eat. I start obessing, and it makes me nutty! So I'm going for just a balanced approach-- less processed foods, more fruits, veggies, and whole grains, and lots of exercise! One healthy habit I've never had a problem with is water--- I'm regularly slugging down at leasat 60oz a day, usually more.
I've been lucky that I haven't had major health problems from being overweight, even my blood pressure is still in the low normal range. But I know if I continue like this, my health WILL give out eventually. I have had pre-eclampsia with all 3 pregnancies, and my doctor recommended not getting pregnant again until I am at a healthy weight, as that could increase my chances of having a healthy pregnancy, and full term baby this time around, so that is really motivating for me! She's also having me tested for hypothyroidism, which could really explain a lot of the symptoms I've been experiencing since the birth of my youngest. Once I know the results, I think I can better plan how to get this weight off and get healthy!
Oh, and as you may have noticed--- I am simply incapable of writing short posts!! LOL So get comfy with some carrot sticks and water before opening anything I write!

I am also eating sensibly, keeping my caloric intake to under 1200 a day. I started WISH in Aug and so far I have lost 46lbs. It's great that you already drink so much water. I never used to drink any water, so that is one of my biggest challenges. I now make sure that I drink about 96ozs a day. I hope that you are able to visit us here often. WISH is a great source of inspiration and motivation. Good luck with your plan.
We are glad you have joined us!! You will find lots of support and encouragement here on this board, so jump right in!!

Welcome to WISH!! It's a great place for support and advice and even a little push in the right direction, when we need it!! I'm looking forward to seeing you around!
