Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

We have a 7:30 am ADR at The Wave for Breakfast on our last day. We will be staying at CBR and will be using disney transportation.

1. What time will the buses start running from CBR and will I have enough time to get to my ADR?

2. What is the best park to take the CBR bus to to transfer to the resort bus to CR? MK? Epcot?

Thanks

Hi everyone,
My family and I are staying at WL and would like to travel to MK each day. At least one morning, I would like to get there early for pre-park opening breakfast reservations. Every other morning, we will try to make it there just before the gates open. My plan was to just catch the bus each day, but some people on here are saying it might be faster to take your car? Any advice?

1. Buses start running at 6:30. I would be at the stop at 6:30.

2. Take the bus to MK and walk to the Contemporary. Do not transfer at Epcot.

If you take your car, you have to make the drive, park the car, then get to the ferry or monorail area, then take one of those to MK. That can be time consuming. Most people here feel it's better to just take the MK bus vs driving your car.

We have always driven and taken the ferry or monorail in. This year we will be utilizing disney transportation - so does this mean that when we hop a bus to MK we will be dropped off right at the gates of MK (no need to take the ferry or monorail to MK?).

That is correct.

Technically you will not be right at the gates, but just off to the side of where the ferry lets you off. No need to take the ferry or monorail.

Unless you are the first at the boats in the mornings and avoid waiting in line, I find that the boat is much slower when trying for rope drop from WL. You can save some time by taking the resort boat to CR and walking the path to MK, since that boat starts running earlier.

HOWEVER, the bus is so fast that we always have better luck there. It takes about 5 min once you are on your bus.

Trying to verify what time the buses start running park to park - I think I saw earlier it was 1 hour before park opening. We are just going over for the day and wanted to park at HS but start our day at MK.

Thanks!

That is a myth that just won't die - buses start running at 6:30 every morning.

So even park to park start running at 6:30?

We are usually on property so I know the buses start from the resorts at 6:30 just wasn't sure about from one park to another.

My bad - I missed that you were asking about park to park buses.

Yes, park-to-park buses start 1 hour before opening. If the parks open at different times, I think it will be one hour before the later opening.

Wanted to ask (I know I've seen it on here before, so sorry!) how long the boat between HS and EP takes? I've ridden it a ton of times and can't remember. I feel like it's in the neighborhood of 20-30 minutes if you ride the whole way with the stops.

We're heading from studios to a world showcase dining reservation and I want to make sure we leave early enough. We will only have one stroller I think (2 kids, one is older) so I'm thinking the boat is the best option instead of walking which we would normally do.

We just missed the boat leaving DHS, so we walked to the Beach Club for a Cape May reservation. It took us 20 minutes to walk, and the boat was docked at Boardwalk. I'd guess it would take 25 minutes, but if you just missed the boat and don't mind walking, I bet you'd get there quicker.

Once you're on the boat, it takes about 25 mins from DHS to Epcot. I've left WS and the boat dock area just as the boat was getting ready to depart. The boat beat me to BW by about 2 mins. As I walked by the BW dock area, the boat was getting ready to head to YC/BC. As my friend and I walked past Wyland Gallery to cut through the pool area to get to the DHS walkway, the boat was heading to YC/BC. That's the last time we saw it until we headed to bag check at DHS. The boat was just coming around the corner as we got to bag check. It probably docked as we got through the turnstiles.
So...long story short. If there is a boat there, boarding, or just coming into the docking area, take the boat to Epcot, if you want. But, if the boat is pulling away, or nowhere in sight? You're better off walking. There can be upwards of 20 mins between boats, depending on time of day. Walking to Epcot will take about 18-20 mins.

Please forgive my lack of transportation knowledge, but I cannot remember if there is a bus that runs to the TTC from resorts. I am trying to figure out the best way to get from CBR to the Poly.

No TTC to resort buses. You'll want to transfer at MK.
