Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

::yes::, right. I know there is no direct bus back to CBR. I was a little surprised to see that the Epcot area resorts share a bus and assumed the wait time would be longer than the other resorts. 20 minutes doesn't sound too bad.

Hmmm...:scratchin, maybe we can take the DTD bus and go to DTD for a bit before heading back to our room. That's if everyone in our group is up for it.
The Epcot resorts aren't always on the same bus...you will find that YC and BC share a bus all the time. Then, S/D share with BW. There are times that the entire loop is lumped onto one bus, but not always. And there are plenty of buses.
If you are trying to figure out how to get back to CBR after your YC dinner, you have a few options.
1. If DHS is still open, or has EMHs that night, just boat or walk there and take the CBR bus from there.
2. Take the bus to DTD from YC, then transfer to the CBR bus.
3. Take a cab to CBR from YC...should be around $10 or so, and much quicker than any other method.

The buses running to, and from, DTD are among the worst buses there. For some reason, they always seem to take forever to come, and they take a fairly long time to get you back to your resort. I remember the time I had a rental car and drove from BW to DTD. I was amazed at how close they are to each other!!! Took about 10 mins to get there.....much, much, much less time than via the buses!!! But, if you have the time, and feel like wandering around that area for a bit, and that can be fun, head there after dinner.

We will be staying at POFQ. I am thinking about breakfast at Trail's End in Fort Wilderness. To get there I will need to take a bus to MK (which opens at 9:00) then the launch to Fort Wilderness. That much I know. But I am not sure about the timing. What would be the earliest I would be able to get to Trail's End?
Buses to MK start about 6:30, but the boat's from MK to FtW don't start until 30 minutes before MK opening. But .. you can get a boat from CR to FtW starting around 6:45.

So if you are at the POFQ bus stop at 6:30, you should be at MK by 7:15 (allowing for wait time and the possibility the bus may stop at all POR stops after FQ.) Then you could walk to the dock behind CR (about 1/2 mi.), get a boat to FtW and arrive there by about 8:00. Your trip won't necessarily take 90 minutes, but it could if you happen to hit all the max wait times.

Another option is to take the bus from MK to WL. At WL, there is a bus directly to Pioneer Hall at FtW. In fact, you might ask the bus driver, as the bus arrives at MK, whether the bus is going to WL next; that may be it's next stop. If not, stand in the WL load zone queue, and look for a bus that has "DHWL" on the marquee.

Gee, I thought for sure I had read that buses don't start running until one hour before park opening. I like your scenario much better as we are early risers. Getting to a bus well before 7:00 would be easy for us.

I'm sure you did read it - it's probably the most commonly repeated bit of misinformation about WDW.

I wonder if it isn't the "bus approximately every 20 minutes" schedule that starts about an hour before park opening. The early morning buses run less frequently than that.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards App, please excuse any typos.

It is. Very early buses only run about every 30 minutes. It picks up to about every 20 minutes about an hour before the park opens. But saying "Buses start 1 hour before park opening" indicates that there are no buses before that, which is absolutely not true.

It is hard not to see it (the wrong information). when it is stated on the Disney resort TV channel 17? (the Disney info channel). When it gets to the section on Transportation, one of the screens state the busses start running 1 hour before park opens.

After the recent menu changes at Kona Cafe, I'm going to be cancelling our ADR for 12/6 and try for the Captain's Grill at YC for a 6:50 reservation on the same day. So, now I need to find out the best way to get there from MK and how much time to give for us to get there. I've got not clue on how to do this. Help!

Just take the bus from MK to YC. I would say be at the bus stop at MK no later than 6:00, just to allow plenty of wiggle room for the waiting time for the bus.

Thanks! We'll probably be at the bus stop way before 6 to give us that extra time in the event of issues like the bus being filled.

Wondering if I have a 8am ressie at TUsker House, will the busses be making pick ups that early if AK doesnt open until 9?

Is it just as easy to drive from the Fort to the Poly for dinner? Looks like that would be quicker than waiting on buses before and after, especially if we are very late leaving the Poly.

Actually, we thought we would just drive everywhere from the Fort, except the boat to MK.

Has anyone experienced driving vs. buses? :drive:

We're staying at Coronado Springs and have 7:45 breakfast reservations at Ohana's. What time should we get the bus from our resort to MK if we're going to take the monorail from there to Poly?

Thanks!!

OK my issue is I'm trying to figure out which will be easier here is the info....

I will be in HS on Monday Nov 5th we have lunch reservations at 1105 so that will be way over by the time I have to g.o but we have a reservation at 340 at BBB in DTD. would it be faster and easier to take a bus or just drive my own car?? DH is going to stay behind and have fun at the park so me and DD can have some mommy daughter time and go get all dressed up so in your opinion which would be the best and if its the bus how long does it take to get from HS to DTD and back???

Drive your car. There is no direct bus service between DTD and any of the parks.

We'll be staying at Pop without a car in a few weeks and my boys really want to watch football on Sunday at the ESPN sports complex grill. Is there a bus that can take us therefrom Pop? if not, is there a good way to get there? Do I need to take a cab? Thanks!:goodvibes
