Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Hi. We're staying at BLT and we have two young kids in a double stroller. Is walking to MK generally faster than taking the monorail there? I've heard the walk is about 10 minutes...I just can't imagine the monorail being able to beat that, unless it goes straight to the MK without stopping.

Thanks!

Yep walking will beat the monorail TO MK every time. The resorts loop will have to make the full loop from CR, TTC, POLY, GF, MK. Returning to CR it is 6 of 1, half a dozen of another, walking will likely still be nominally faster, but it will be a much closer race. :)

That's what I thought, but I couldn't find anything definitive on which direction the monorail traveled in. Thank you!

A bit of definition here...
The Express monorail runs counterclockwise between the TTC and MK. The Resort monorail line runs clockwise, stopping at the TTC, Polynesian, GF, MK, CR and then back to TTC. From the TTC, you can get a monorail to Epcot.

'Ohana from Pofq possible with Disney transport for 735 am?
You will have to be out at the bus stop by 6:30, no later. Then, when you get to MK, hop on the monorail over to the Polynesian..it starts at 7am. When you get on the bus, ask the driver which is faster to the Polynesian...monorail or boat? He may very well offer to drop you off there, at the Polynesian, on his way out.

How do I get a taxi from Port Orleans Riverside early in the morning, like 6:30 AM? Is there staff at the front of the hotel to call a taxi for me or do I need to call the taxi service directly to request one?

How do we get from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Ft Wilderness for the Campfire Sing-a-Long with chip & Dale? I've read it's near the Meadow Trading Post. Many Thanks

I need to make sure I've got this right:

ADR for Afternoon Tea at GF on 12/7. If I'm correct, I just take the MK bus from CBR then transfer to the resort monorail that goes to GF. Does that sound right? I also want to make sure the MK bus stops at the TTC to transfer to the monorail. I'm pretty sure it does. But I remember taking the bus from MK back to Pop when we were there last. So now I'm not sure.

The other one I just wanted to ask about (which I may have awhile ago) is how to get from CBR to YC for our ADR at the Yatchsman Steakhouse.

Thanks :)

The MK bus does not stop at the TTC, but you don't need to go there anyway. You'll take the bus to MK and then either take the boat to the GF or take the resort monorail to the GF directly from MK.

Take the bus to DHS and walk or take the boat to YC.

I believe the best route would be bus to MK transferring to the Ft. Wilderness boat (not to be confused with the Wilderness Lodge boat.)

Can I ask questions about length of time certain trips will take on this thread? :confused3

You can. Folks can give their best guesstimates based on knowledge & experience, actual travel times will vary considerably.

To get to the GF, correct, bus to MK from there you can transfer either to the resort loop monorail OR the boat to the GF, which is a nice ride.

The resort buses stop near the front entrance to the MK, not at the TTC. Buses from either DHS or AK to the MK will run to/from the TTC. If you are bussing to MK to transfer to the monorail, just use the MK monorail stop.

CBR to YC is a tricky one. If you are short on time just take a cab, so much quicker and easier. Otherwise you will need to go to a park & transfer-- which will be slow as most times the YC bus is shared with ALL of the Epcot area resorts. If you are in Epcot by chance, you can just walk out the "back door" of Epcot, the International Gateway between the UK & France pavilions, it is a very short (5 minute) walk from there. From DHS you can either walk (20 min or so) or take the boat.

We're going to the steakhouse on one of our downtime days, so we will have plenty of time to get to our reservation. The boat ride from DHS sounds more do-able and more relaxed. Especially since it's in the vicinity of CBR.

I noticed that you mentioned that the YC bus is shared with all of the Epcot resorts. Would you know how long the wait would be for a bus when we are ready to go back to CBR? Does a bus come, for example, every 20 minutes or so?

Yes, about every 20 minutes, but there is no direct bus to CBR.

If DHS is still open after dinner, going back there by boat or walking path would be your best option.

Otherwise, take whichever bus comes first: DTD or MK.

Since it's a no-park day, walking or boating to Epcot will do you no good, as you would need a park ticket to walk thru the park to get to the buses.

I searched the thread and did not find my answer.

We will be staying at POFQ. I am thinking about breakfast at Trail's End in Fort Wilderness. To get there I will need to take a bus to MK (which opens at 9:00) then the launch to Fort Wilderness. That much I know. But I am not sure about the timing. What would be the earliest I would be able to get to Trail's End?

Hi. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the Disney Transportation buses are of the "kneeling" variety. i.e. will I be able to wheel a stroller directly onto the bus or will I have to fold it first?

Thanks.

Strollers must be folded.

All strollers must be folded. Children come out and stroller gets folded up. I remember one family decided to try to keep their child, in the stroller, when they got on the bus. The child was asleep, and they didn't want to wake her up. As they started up the steps, stroller (with child) held by the two of them, one on each end, the driver put out his hand, and said, 'No unfolded strollers on the bus sir.''...the father then replied, 'But how will my child be able to stay in it if we fold it up...she's sleeping!!!'' The driver replied..'Children must come out, and the stroller folded up before boarding the bus sir.'' Dad....'But she's asleep and we don't want to wake her.' Driver....'Well then, I suggest you step back, take a seat on a bench and wait for her to wake up because she isn't coming on this bus in that stroller!' Dad and Mom were not happy!!! The baby was taken out, the stroller folded up, and they boarded...after we all had to wait behind them. I would have been hugely annoyed if it hadn't been so funny!!!

::yes::, right. I know there is no direct bus back to CBR. I was a little surprised to see that the Epcot area resorts share a bus and assumed the wait time would be longer than the other resorts. 20 minutes doesn't sound too bad.

Hmmm...:scratchin, maybe we can take the DTD bus and go to DTD for a bit before heading back to our room. That's if everyone in our group is up for it.
