Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

I'm confused, goofy4tink. A bus going from AKL to MK wouldn't stop at the TTC, it would go right to the entrance, wouldn't it?

Yes, I misspoke....it should have been take the bus to MK and then either boat or monorail to GF!! Good catch. The funny thing is that I was out doing some errands, and it suddenly came to mind that I had misspoken...should have said the bus goes to MK...not TTC!!!
That family could only focus on the fact that they weren't going directly to GF..that they had to make a change. Sorry for the confusion....I really need to be more awake when I post!!!

What is the best way to get to HS from DTD?
Bus to Pop Century or Art of Animation, and then the bus to DHS.

Another option is boat to OKW, and bus from there to DHS. That may be a better option in the afternoon when Typhoon Lagoon is open, since the buses out of DTD will be stopping at TL to pick up guests. The OKW boats leave from the PI dock.

How about bus to Boardwalk from DTD and then walk to HS? How long would that take?
You would want to get off at the Swan, which is the first resort stop after TL. Boardwalk takes usually 12-15 minutes longer.

Bus to the Swan would be about the same as to Pop, normally about 25-35 minutes from Marketplace when buses are stopping at TL. Bus from Pop to DHS takes only 5 minutes, but you could wait up to 20 minutes for the bus. I'm not sure about the walk from the Swan to DHS -- maybe 15 minutes? So it could be quicker or slower, depending on how lucky you are with bus wait times at DTD & Pop.

I am looking for one central location for info on resorts to other resorts, without having to read through all the questions , threads, etc.
Is there such a thing?:confused3
Years ago, maybe almost 10 years now, I don't know, they used to give you a map at check-in of the property, and on the back it had a grid of sorts of how to get from one place to another on Disney transportation. Remember those? I do remember it had you going to Downtown Disney, and change buses there to get to another resort (for dinner, or whatever reason) At the time, I didn't do that, I usually went to a park, then caught a bus from there to another resort. But the parks stayed open so much later then, it was not a problem.

This would be the 'central location'...this is what this particular thread is all about. There is no need to read through all the posts...just ask what you need to know...you'll get an answer. This would be the place.

ALrighty - we are thinking about going to IOA so I'm planning to taxi that.

I'm trying to decide about 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey's

I have a ressie for Chef Mickeys at 725 () and wonder about the best way to get there from POFQ?

I have a 800 ressie for 1900 Park Fare Also, same question.

I wont keep them both, just one (they are on dif days) I will cancel one once I pick.

The Chef Mickey's is for the day we leave. Our flight is at 215 out will be so I am guessing DME will be 1045-1115, so I am thinking thats plenty of time to make an 725 ressie and back to the resort to catch the DME. 1900 Park Fare is on the Sunday before we leave.

IF we decided not to take a taxi to IOA I will prolly just take a taxi to breakfast...but I want disney transport options that will get us there.

CR at 7:25 - be at bus stop at 6:25, bus to MK, 10-15 minute walk to Chef Mickey's.

GF at 8:00 - be at bus stop by 6:30, bus to MK, resort monorail to GF.

Tell the bus driver where you are going, as your bus may be going to the resort after the MK.

I don't know how long breakfast at Chef M takes, so someone else will have to answer that. If you walk back to MK, they will get you a bus back to FQ, but it might take a while at that time of morning. Epcot monorail will be running by the time you're done, so you could also take the resort monorail to TTC, monorail to Epcot, and then bus to FQ; you should allow 90 minutes for that trip.

You never want to cut your time too close on being at the resort for the ME to the airport. It's stressful, and it's a hassle if you miss your assigned bus.

Hubby said no to Chef Mickeys. He wants to sleep in last day and have the breakfast on Sunday. I'm cool with that. We wanted to check out the GF anyway, and now we have another reason to be there. And we've never been on the monorail :goodvibes

thanks for the info on GF!

We're staying at AKL next week and I have two transportation questions.

(1) We have a 5:20 California Grill dinner scheduled on our non-park day. What's the best way to get there from AKL? If we wanted to ride the monorail just to do something fun beforehand (we haven't been on it in over 20yrs), is there a way to do that? Maybe take the park bus to MK and then could we take the monorail from MK to the Contemporary Resort? Or is that a waste of time?

(2) We have an 8PM Kouzzina dinner scheduled and also wondering the best way to get there from AKL?

Thanks!

1 take the bus to the MK. If you have time and want to take the monorail you could I suppose. If you are short on time it is probably quicker to walk across the street to the CR.

2 If you are indeed leaving from AKL it is probably best/easiest to just take a cab to the BW. Mucking about with a bus transfer when you have an ADR to make is stressful. If you want you can do bus transfers at MK or AK if it is open. If you are at EP just exit out the back gate "International Gateway" between UK & France. It is maybe a 10 minute walk. If you come from DHS you can walk or boat to BW.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards App please excuse any typos.

If time isn't of the essence, since it's not a park day...consider taking the bus, from AKL, to Epcot. Then, hop on the monorail over to TTC, and then transfer to the Resort line, getting off at the CR. Yes, it will take more time, but it would be fun to ride the monorail all that way. I love doing that kind of thing when I'm not in a hurry.

And to get over to BW?? I would just take the bus to DHS and then either walk or boat over to BW. The walk is under 20 mins, depending on pace, and the boat ride itself is a bit longer..not counting any wait times for the boat to get to the dock.

I need to squeeze in some DTD time but pickins are slim this trip! If we have lunch at WL at 12:55 how much time do you think it would take to get to DTD (assuming we'll be done with lunch by 1:40)? We'd like to be at Boardwalk at 5pm or so.....how long will that trip take and does that leave us much time for DTD at all? Can purchases from DTD be sent to our resort (we're staying at POR).

Thank you in advance. You guys really know your Disney transportation!

You'll probably arrive at DTD around 2:30, or a few minutes earlier. It could take an hour or longer to get to BW, so you should be at the MktPlace load zones at 4 p.m., or 3:30 if you can't risk arriving after 5.

You can shave about 10 minutes off the trip by walking from Swan to BW, and another 10 minutes by boarding at PI instead of MktPlace.

I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked (though I couldn't find anything while searching)...

I'll be staying at one of the DTD hotels in mid-November and am wondering if I can exect to have bus transportation back after MVMCP. They offer a free shuttle to the Disney parks just like the Disney hotels do, but I can't find anything about special events. Can anyone that has been in this boat before offer any help or tips?

Thanks!!

You'll have to check with your hotel. Generally speaking, offsite hotels are not great when it comes to shuttle service, so I wouldn't count on it. Offsite resort shuttles run much less frequently than WDW buses and the operating hours are generally shorter.

You could walk from MK to the Contemporary, take a bus to DTD from there, and then walk to your hotel.

Hi. We're staying at BLT and we have two young kids in a double stroller. Is walking to MK generally faster than taking the monorail there? I've heard the walk is about 10 minutes...I just can't imagine the monorail being able to beat that, unless it goes straight to the MK without stopping.

Thanks!
