Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

On 09/13/2015, Hollywood Studios has Fantasmic from 8:00pm-8:30pm. Afterward, I want to visit Downtown Disney, pick up some food to-go, then go back to All-Star Sports resort. I need to wake up at 7:30am the next day. Is it advisable?

How long would it take to get out of Hollywood Studios after Fantasmic? How long is the bus ride to/from Downtown Disney? Thank you!
There are no buses from parks to DTD, so you'll have to go to a resort and then transfer to a DTD bus at the resort. It will take a bit of time to get out of Fantasmic!....probably 15-20 mins depending on where you're sitting. So you won't be exiting DHS until probably 8:45-8:50. Then wait for a resort bus...1-20 mins, ride to the resort....10 mins. Wait for the bus to DTD at the resort...another 1-20 min wait, at least. Ride to DTD...15 mins. You could take a bus to SSR, and then boat to DTD, or walk from the Congress Park area. Bit no matter what you do, it's foing to take you about 90 mins to get to DTD....you could get very lucky and it would take an hour.

January 6th, I'm hoping for a Pirates and Pals cruise from the Contemporary. I need to be there by 6:30. If we have dinner at Raglan Road at 4:30, I'm thinking we'll be done by 5:30 and would have an hour to get to the Contemporary.

Is it better to take a bus, a boat to PO and a bus or should I get a cab? Is an hour enough time?

If you are done eating by 5:30, you 'should' be okay. But, if it takes you longer, and then the bus doesn't come quickly, you could be late. I would recommend taking a cab.

Thank you! I had no idea that there was no bus from the park to DTD!

I have an 8:05 a.m. reservation at Be Our Guest. Magic Kingdom opens at 9 a.m. that day. When do the buses start running from All-Stars resorts to the park?

Hello everyone!

I am sorry if this is a frequently asked question, but I couldn't find it in the last few pages of this thread and it is somewhat time sensitive. Typhoon Lagoon to Downtown Disney in the afternoon.

I see that buses from Typhoon lagoon change after 2:00pm and do not go to resorts. I read they go to Epcot. We are staying at Caribbean Beach in August. We were planning on going to TL and then either back to the resort to freshen up first or straight on to DTD in the evening. I would rather not spend an excessive amount of time on the buses if we can help it. It almost looks as though it would be most efficient even just to walk to DTD.

Any experience/ ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hi--my niece and her husband are wanting to go to Animal Kingdom in the morning, go to Typhoon Lagoon in the afternoon and they have a 7:45 ADR at Raglan Road that evening. What's the best way for them to use Disney Transportation to:

--go from AK to TL;
--TL to RR.

They'll also have their car and staying onsite, so if driving is a better option, they can do that. Thanks!

Walking from TL to DTD has always been a dicey proposition, with no sidewalk on the long entrance road and no pedestrian crossing signal on BVD. Now, with all the construction, it's an even worse idea.

I'm afraid the only efficient alternative to the bus to Epcot would be a taxi, either from TL to DTD, or from TL to CBR and then the bus to DTD. DTD & CBR are both physically close to TL, so a taxi to either would probably be under $5.

Driving would be the best option, even with the traffic congestion around DTD. There is no direct bus from AK to TL, and, as I said above, there is no efficient way to get from TL to DTD by Disney Transport after 2pm.

Thanks! I guess I will take a taxi to CBR :D It sounds the most convenient. I am assuming that there are cast members there at the entrance to TL to call one for me?

Sorry, don't know about that. There is a small taxi stand with room for 2 or 3 cabs; I don't know how good a job Mears does of keeping it supplied in the afternoon. If you have your cell phone, you can call 407-422-2222, or try something like Uber.

I am noting that number! Thanks! You really have been very helpful :D :D
joelkfla is nothing but helpful!!! There are some things I just have no clue about...buses to and from TL are one of them!! I tend to wait until he shows up to answer the questions.
Thanks!

Hi not new to Disney but new to CBR. How long does it take the buses to go to Mk, Epcot, Ak, and DHS? Would it be better to stay at another moderate? Rent a car? Heard CBR is huge. Sorry if this has been asked, and thx.

Sorry in advance if this has been asked before but how long is the walk from the Boardwalk to Epcot?

OKW to Cape May Cafe for 7:55 breakfast? Thanks.

Honestly, I would probably take a taxi on this occasion, distance wise it is very close, maybe a 10 minute drive at most.

The only alternative which I can think of that is anywhere near sensible would be to take an early bus to Hollywood Studios and then take a boat or walk to Beach Club from there. The walk is approx 30 minutes and the boat would be slightly less once it arrives. I would be at the bus stop at OKW at 6:55am to take the first bus to DHS.

The taxi could be booked for 7:40am and would take you there in time.

Two options....
1. Cab. Get one at about 7:30. That will give you plenty of time to get to the Hospitality House to get the cab nd over to Cape May.
2. Bus to DHS, at about 7. Then either boat or walk to BC. The walk is easy, about 20 mins (I do it a lot!), off the bus, walk toward the canal, park entrance on your left, parking lot on your right. Go to the right of the canal, keep walking and you will shortly see signage directing you to Boardwalk. Walk to the end, go left to the bridge, a right on the bridge, and down to YC/BC.
If the boat is running, and either at the dock or coming into the dock, you can take that. It will go to the S/D first, then to YC/BC. Takes about 20 mins once on the boat.
