**Official Frozen Sing-Along, Oaken's, Holiday Premium Package Tips, updated 1/5/15

I just saw this. I Just cancelled the premium package about a week ago and we will be in HS next Tuesday! And I just checked MDE and don't see FP+ for the singalong. Can they all be already booked?? Or is this effective at a future date? I probably won't be able to get a 4th fp since TSMM is planned for after our break, window opens at 6:10pm. I didn't think I'd need a 4th fp since we rarely even used FP at HS. Can someone please link the info annoucning this as a FP+? I was just saying this weekend how all our plans are aligned perfectly to meet our needs and now going into a mild panic!

What date? The 26th or the 2nd? If it's the 26th you are fine, there will be standby tickets. The 2nd, is when FP+ begins.

If they decide to extend Frozen stuff into October, anyone know when this would be announced? We're coming Oct 19th and my DD would love it. My FP day is tomorrow night...so guess if they extended it, I'd have to switch FP around later on...but just wondering the timeframe? I don't remember when they announced the Sept extension.

They announced the extension into September on August 6th. Looks like Disney likes the 27 day pattern I would think that October guests would know sometime early September and if the 27 day pattern holds true, September 4th would be the magic day

I didn't read about it extending into September until Thursday the 14th and there were still plenty or availability of the Sing-a-long for our HS date, September 26th. I just went in and checked again, and every time slot is still available

Now that they are offering FP for the Frozen Sing a long, does this mean that they won't be offering paper tickets to the shows? Or does it work like the other shows in the sense that the FP just gets you a certain section with less waiting?

Thank you for the correction. Aug 6 extension released. Aug 15 the FP+ was announcec.

Thank goodness, we're going the 26th! My ds5 is way more into Frozen than dd8 and he's always walking around singing so I already told him about the show (before I decided to cancel the package) but do NOT want to stand on a long SB line for it to be SRO! Thank you for easing my mind!!!!!!

You'll be fine going in August. No changes at this point until Sept 2nd.

And even then, I don't expect it to be a problem. I'm sure they got plenty of feedback from SWW to make things better for the singalong with FP+. Things may get tweaked at Sept goes on, but those changes should all be for the better. Just as the many changes since July have been better.

We went on Saturday and had a great time.

We got to DHS at 9:00 and immediately got our Frozen singalong tickets. I was originally going to get them for 2:00, but then, after picturing us standing in the sun, decided to go with a late afternoon show. The CM said that the 5:00 show tends to be the least crowded while the 7:00 show is the most crowded. does anyone here agree or disagree with that? We went with 5:00.

We then went to the HISTK playground because I had recently shown my daughter the first two movies. Fun but sooooooooooooooo humid.
Afterward we went to the Frozen Funland. 1st mistake: we should have gone there first. There was a pretty good line to get in. When we finally got in, we just watched the zamboni for a while. (Totally entertaining to us Floridians!!)

Then we went to Oaken's Trading Post. They had a lot of everything (dolls, bands, dresses). We got a snowball to share. So good and I am not even a huge fan of rice crispy treats.

We then decided to make our way to parade viewing. We took lovethattink's advice (best advice of the day!!!!!) and stood across from the Jedi training stage. We got there at about 10:50 and there was no one over there. We had perfect viewing of the parade which was pretty awesome. We were Disney bounding that day-I was Anna, my daughter was Olaf and my husband was Elsa (his hair is nearly white). The ladies saw us and were noticed we were bounding.
On a side note-I am now completely addicted to Disney bounding. It is so much fun.

I need to go. I will continue my day this afternoon.

There have been several shows in the Premiere Theater that have used FP+, the Christmas show and all the SWW shows. I have not been to the Christmas show, but Yullinin3 has. I'm sure she will chime in if that was worked any differently. We both have been to all the SWW shows.

For most of the SWW shows this year, there was FP+ or standby. FP+ only guaranteed a seat in the theater. It did not give a preferred seat.

There were many disgruntled guess who assumed a FP+ gave them a preferred seat and were none to happy to see standby people seated before them.

How was standby seated before some FP+ people? Here's how it worked for most shows at SWW.


1. Standby guests and FP+ had their own separate queues. FP+ was near the theater and standby was across the street.

2. FP+ guests entered towards the front of the stage. Standby guests entered from the back of the theater. The catch...at the same time.3. Periodically the Standby line was stopped to let foot traffic pass and the theater fill with only FP+ guests.

OK, so maybe I'm obtuse...so the point of the FP+ is only to make sure that you get in? It's really not saving any time...if you want a good seat, you still have to queue up early, correct? With all the shows not selling out, it seems like use of a FP+ for this isn't that great of a perk, which probably explains why it didn't wind up in Tier 1. We saw you Saturday, around 7pm at the Hat Stage, I'm sure it was you because my daughter and I first noticed your outfit and said "oh that's cool" then saw your daughter as Olaf and finally your husband all in light blue

Almost if not all of FP+ for shows are a guaranteed seat and not a better seat/less time. I agree that fp+ for shows are not neccesary but fort his one, if you want a specific show time it might be, and instead of waiting maybe an hour you can go at your designated fp+ window and not wait long.
If the sing along moves to ABC Theater there is not one bad seat in the bunch
the fp+ entrance for the theater is close to the Emmy's Hall of Fame busts (so facing the stairs to your left) you scan there and move into the holding area with everyone else.

Yes, it's wait and see for now. I have FP+ for Sept 2. Will report back. I plan to arrive for the return AFTER the parade. But of course that could change.

During SWW, we did the Mark Hamill show twice. Once with FP+ and the next day without. The irony of it, was that we ended up with the same seats for both shows. Back of the theater, 2nd last row on left side.

Now for Warwick Davis' show, we didn't have a FP+. We had just seen the show before. My son's friend said that she was staying for it, she was in the VIP section. So we got in the standby line as soon as that show let out. Other friends had FP+ and they got in that line at the same time as us. His FP+ friend was still in line to get in as we passed by him to get in the theater. We hollered that we'd same them a seat if we could. His VIP friend was already in the theater sitting as we got in and the theater wasn't that full. We got towards the front on the right hand side. There were two seats beside us which we were able to save for his friend and his dad who were in the FP+ line.

I doubt it as well, but you never know. It's just strange to me that they weren't offering fp+ for it and now they will after AIE is closing

The hat stage was the second most humid part of the day for us!
I will try to post a picture when I figure out how.

After the parade, we went to the Backlot (Grill? Express? We eat there a lot! I should know its name!). We beat the crowd!

We then went to the animation area for a while. We saw Jake and Sophia and took a break in the air-conditioned building. Then we saw The Voyage Of the Little Mermaid. It had been a long time since we had last seen the show. Ariel's hair looked bad. Like straight-out-of-the-package bad.

Next was mistake #2. It was getting kind of stormy and I had the thought that maybe we should try for Standby for the Singalong. It started raining hard on the way and we took cover under one of the umbrellas near the theater. We stayed there for about twenty minutes. Then we ran for the Bookstore and stayed there for about an hour (coffee!!).

We got in line at about 4:15 for the 5:00 singalong and there were already a fair number of people in line. They let us in the theater at about 4:40. The show was fabulous!!! The two townspeople were so funny. I really want to try to watch it again.

After the show, we went through a couple of stores and then caught the 6:00. characterpolooza. We managed to get pictures with Genie Aladdin, Pocahontas, Mulan, The Queen of Hearts and one of Mary's Penguins.

Then dinner, so more window shopping and some dancing by the hat.

We tried to stay for the fireworks but it just got to be so hot and humid and we were getting close to a twelve hour day (and feeling every minute of it!).
So we left, vowing to see the fireworks next time.

It was a great day!

Between this, SWW and Osbourne lights, I could happily live at DHS!

Oh that's too bad you got caught outside in the rain. We were lucky. We missed the rain. I don't remember where we were, but it was wet when we came out.

The Great Movie Ride was evacuated that day. Never heard why. But we were in line next to enter the ride when they evacuated.

Bummer you missed fireworks that night. But you accomplished a lot that day.

I agree, Frozen, SWW, Osborne Lights, that's what make it for me in the Studios too. Woudn't like to live there though. Don't care too much for the food choices at the DHS.

Where is the best place to see the Fireworks? We have read/heard that its hard to see them all since there is a stage aspect to it all too? (I know it is probably discussed in this thread somewhere, but I couldn't find it by browsing a few different pages. )

You will need to make a decision what is most important to you. The stage, a screen, or the fireworks?

The fireworks are designed to be viewed from Hollywood Blvd. There is both the stage and 2 big screens located on the street. But it's much to crowded for me.

We watched at Min and Bill's twice. Had great viewing the one time, but too many people stood in front of our table the 2nd.

The area between the Idol screen and the stage is pretty good for viewing both fireworks, the stage and/or the screen depending how close to the stage or screen you are. We found sitting to be easiest to view the fireworks unless you want a kink in your neck from looking straight up.

The area around 50's PTC and H&V is nice too, but the screen looks very small and you can't see the stage. Also, last week when we viewed, the sound was not piped in. Backround music competed with Frozen music. But the fireworks looked incredible and larger than life from back there. You could see them stretch from Idol past the Hat.

I'm 99% sure that I am going to cancel our premium package for august 31st. If anyone is interested let me know, it's for 4 people. ....maybe we can coordinate
