*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Yay for February. My husband and I are going for part of our honeymoon February 18-23 at the HOJO and one night at the DLH. So excited can't wait to be at Disney. We booked a killer deal on jet blue for the hotel and plane from boston around $600 each not including the DLH stay.

Welcome! What night are you are the DLH? (If you want me to add that to the list that is.)

What an amazing deal you found, our flights from Victoria to Anaheim alone were over $600/pp.

Oh man! I search like a manic for deals. Ha. That Saturday night ! Thanks for adding me!

Hi! Just booked our flights today for Disneyland! Me and my husband will be staying at The Homewood Suites from 2/15 - 2/19. This will be our first trip to Disneyland after visiting Disney World many times. I can't begin to describe how excited I am!

Welcome, I have added your info to the first post!

There are a number of us here who have been to DL/DCA before so if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Does anyone know if this "mouse for less" page is legit/to be believed, they have updated in the last few days WOC closure from Jan 7th to March 12 2015, this closure wasn't on there before, doesn't list any other new closures

http://www.themouseforless.com/tripplanning/dlparks/rehab-closedl.shtml#feb15

But then this one doesn't list WOC being closed as at 15th Jan 2015 but does list others

Don't know about that website...:confused3but the world of color has been rumored to be down during that period on multiple sites. Right now the Disneyland entertainment calendar is partially done through Jan 15th (you have to select the daily view) + World of Color is missing from it.

Rumor says that Fantasmic will preform most every night, while world of color is down. Little bummed about this one too (World of color). Love Fantasmic! We've been spoiled & able to see world of color, fantasmic & Fire works (all 3) at both of our last 2 trips....but then again we went at spring break prior years.

Thanks for that info on Fantasmic, we have a 10 day pass, so will be determined to see it.

There is just a bit of sadness, as i may never get to go again, as this trip is costing $6000 (without adding in the spending money), ppl tell me "well that is what you get for going in the off season" I couldn't afford to go in any other season, as we got flights half price to go in February, that meant we could stay for 2 weeks instead of one, thus seeing so much more over there.

I feel like i have let my dd down, with all the predicted closures, we booked this in may this yr and didn't even consider the 60th yr stuff nor closures.

Oh well, we will make the best of it and hopefully there will be so much more to see and that the closures don't take away anything from out trip

This was our favorite hotel before buying DVC!

It's hard to not focus on what is closed, but there will still be so much to do!

I am super torn on Fantasmic. My previous trips, we stuck close to 7:00 bedtime for my kids (who were both under 2.5 on all trips so far). We want to try to push bedtime one night this trip and see some night time shows, but with the new seating set up, I am not sure I want to commit the money to get a better seat when I am not sure we can make it that late. I will have to wait and see the show hours I guess. If it is showing at like 8:00, we could probably do it.

I stayed at a Homewood Suites in Minnesota a few years ago and it was really nice! When our kid(s) are out of strollers and no longer napping, I would definitely consider staying at the one in Anaheim some day.

I am curious to see how naps and bedtimes go for our son on this trip. We pretty much let him set his own routine at home and he really sticks to it. So vacation could be a bit...strange.

I'm not sure how old your DD is...but based on my past trips with my DD's they either a.) didn't know what they were missing (because they had not experienced it) or b.) on our 2nd trip didn't spend time dwelling about closures because they were too busy with all the wonderful things that were open. pixiedust:

Try not to worry too much on the refurbs...I'm sure you will have an AMAZING trip regardless! Hope your trip is Magical!!!! :welcome: Now that my daughters have experience most everything, I broke the news ahead of time on world of color & splash mountain, so there wouldn't be any unwanted surprises. They are still SUPER excited!

It is hard to not focus on them, as they seem to glaringly jump out at you and WOC is something everyone is telling me is a MUST do thing.

We have never been outside AUS before, so it will all be amazing, I just need to stop beating myself up and look for all the positives.

Perhaps a rest in the afternoon for your little ones, would help get them through the Fantasmic show, my DD is 17 so no worries there for us, she is a real night owl...lol coming off end of school exams does that to them,

I hope you get to see Fantasmic whilst you are there, actually i should say - I hope we both get to see it whilst there

Thanks, trying not to worry, but yeah you know how it is, you plan this amazing trip and then it seems like it all begins to fall apart. It is a High school graduation present for her, as she finished Yr 12 this yr.

She is 17 and she has a friend who has been to Disneyland in the past few yrs, telling her what not to miss. Of course some of the things she recommended not to miss are things on the rumoured/confirmed refurb list.

She did say that it will still be amazing, that she can still go to the outlet stores and shop up a storm, so she is happy.

Thanks again

What an awesome gift for graduation! Your family will have a blast! Fantasmic is a must see!! I personally like it even better than world of color (and I do like world of color also). I also truly enjoy the fireworks...in all honesty the almost brought a tear to my eye the first time I saw them at Disney. :tink:You will definitly need to see.

My littles DD's are now 8 & 10 yrs old. They saw it first at the age of 4&6 and then and then again at 6&8. At those ages we took mid day breaks (some times w/ naps) to make it through the shows. Looking forward to no napping :cheer2:

10 days in the park sounds AMAZING... Not sure if I would ever go home. We've always done 4 days...this time comboing it with San Diego.

I too am watching the refurbs closly. Just the planner in me so I can adjust ahead of time.:rotfl2: Can't wait until they roll out park hours ect & looking forward to getting under 60days so I can make a few reservations.:hourglass

Yeah thought it would be an awesome graduation present, a great way to celebrate the end of her schooling.

Will have to check out the fireworks schedule, see what we are doing when they are on, as i know they are not on every night during February. Hoping our other activities don't clash with it.

The 10 day pass was only $10.00 more than the 5 day one, so it made sense to go with that one, so as to pop in when it suited us, not by how many days we have left, we will save one day for our last day, as our plane leaves at 10.20pm that night, we have booked an extra night at our accommodation, so we can spend the day at Disneyland and then freshen up before the long flight home.

We only need to book our Character meals, am thinking Goofy's Kitchen, but don't know if to book it now or wait to see what we are doing when we get there. We have 3 tours booked out of our 12 days there, so may just wing it and book the meal later in the week after we arrive. Can you go the monday and book for the friday or do you have to book online??

Only 57 days to go :dance3:

I'm pretty sure you can book at any time (as long as there is availability still). Prob have your pick of times the earlier you book. This will be my first time booking online. Normally I just call. You can always cancel a reservation if you get busy or decide not to keep.:littleangel:

We're planning Goofys Kitchen too! (for the evening after we fly in) & then Big Thunder Ranch, House of Blues, Catal, and maybe either Cheese Cake factory or Buba Gump Shrimp.

This will be our first time at Goofys, we've done Ariels Grotto in past.

We usually do an earlier dinner (3-4:00ish) for 2 reasons, less people in restaurants & less people in parks when we head back, because they are hungry & headed to dinner. popcorn::
