Official February 2014 Thread...

We had to cancel our Feb plans (because Oct. would work out better for DH's work schedule)... but my parents kept their reservation and JUST invited me and the children to join them! 3 weeks to plan are not enough!!!

see y'all down there!
:cool1:

DW and I just booked a last minute babymoon January 31-Feb 4! We're excited to escape the cold and just take it easy at WDW :cool1:

My dates are the 7th to the 16th (we are checking out that day and no plans for parks), and now I am getting worried about crowds. When I originally looked at the park hours HS was only open until 8 and now they added EMH on the day we will be there and are open earlier and until 10pm. I think MK is open later than I originally saw too. I'm hoping Universal isn't too crowded the two days we will be there. I have seen calendars with low crowd levels on the days we will be there.

Still can't believe this trip is so close! Kinda snuck up on us. :cool1:

Hello February peeps :) Well, can't believe my countdown said 36 days today. Arriving on Thursday, February 13th at in the AM and departing February 23rd. Can you say 10 NIGHTS! We will be staying at POR (1st time). We are staying in a Royal Room. All of the plans done, all of the FP+'s booked, Tiffany Towncar booked, all dining reservations ready! My family (DD, DM, and DD (9)) would welcome hellos and magical greetings from all of our fellow Dis'rs! If anyone has anything specific going on, let us know...would love a quick meet and greet! Thank all of you for everything you have done! As I look at my planning binder, I am almost a little sad that all of my hours planning since July 5th are done :( Planning is definitely half the fun! See you all real soon! Safe travel all...:thumbsup2

We are also feb 12 th till the 21st then cruise would love to meet some fellow disneyites anything in mind. We are also at por dh dd 13 ds 5

going to be there Feb 4-12 with my husband, 11 & 9 year old. We are planning on all 4 parks plus Seaworld & the boys are doing Legoland. Really hope we aren't overdoing it...

I think you'll be fine, we did the 4 parks plus 2 Universal days on our 7 days trip last year and our boys are a lot younger than yours.
The one thing we did though is make sure everyone rested - there were even a couple of nights when DH & I went to bed at 8:00 with the boys!!!!

I really wanted to go to SeaWorld and Legoland this time, but we've decided to save them and do them in California instead because we are closer and can do a short trip.

Have a great time!!!!

Watching extended forecast for our upcoming trip - woo Hoo so far weather looks GREAT!

Watching extended forecast for our upcoming trip - woo Hoo so far weather looks GREAT!

I thought New England weather was crazy about how the weather changes but if you look at the current month, Florida really got some crazy changes. Going from 70s down to 40s the next day. That's wild.

I know from watching the extended forecast for November that it changes daily so although I keep looking, I know that it can change.

The warmer weather will be nice, but honestly I'm looking forward to not doing housework for a few days and still waking up to a clean room.

I've been a lurker here for a while, figuring out plans for my trip but I finally decided to join when I saw the Feb thread! I'm a DLR vet with a premier AP and will be in WDW feb 2-6 for my first ever trip! I'm very excited! I'm staying at POP and will be there solo, celebrating my birthday!

Any tips for a first timer going this time of year? I'm so bummed they are getting rid of fp- in MK, and at this rate I'm guessing they will be gone from all parks when we get there... I have ADRs (including BOG, super excited!) and have decided on a rental car for the week to make the most of my little time, especially with taking half a day out for WWoHP!

Welcome. Sounds like a lot of February solo trips going on.
NLRinLA has been posting too.
Does DLR vet mean something with Disney land resort? guessing.
When is your birthday? NLRinLA has one that week too.

You will love BOG. Well I did when I went in November. I don't plan to go there for dinner this time, but was debating lunch one day.

What's WWoHP?

Advise for a first timer and solo.....ENJOY every ounce of freedom to do what you want when you want. I've been many times with other people and instead of doing the things I want to enjoy or check out, I end up doing what they want to do. That is why I have this trip booked.

Just curious, is anyone else cautious about going solo?
As much as I'm excited to meet new people, I know the internet isn't the safest place to put too much info out there.

But it is cool to know that others will be there same time as me and solo. I think solo is much more common than I once thought.

By DLR vet I just mean that I go to disneyland a lot...I live about 10 minutes away and have had an AP on and off throughout the years. I went 5 times this last week and might swing by again tonight. My birthday isn't until middle of the month but it's my 30th and the dates I am going worked best so I'm celebrating the whole time!

You'll love going solo...most of my disneyland trips are solo and you can do whatever you want, when you want! Don't worry about meeting up with others if you are uncomfortable. I've never felt awkward at disneyland solo. Rush around to rides, sit and enjoy the atmosphere, a little of both... I think I'll be rushing a bit since it's my first trip and I want to see as much as possible! Table service could be a little weird solo, but I'll get over it!

WWoHP is the Harry Potter land at Universal.

I'm just so excited!!!!

I don't feel awkward going solo and look forward to getting to know myself. I hope I am as good and fun with myself as I am with other people. :rotfl2:

I wouldn't feel awkward about TS and being solo, it's more I don't want to waste the time waiting for my food and the check. :)

I want to get the most of my vacation since it's not a full week and I already know things I've never done in all my trips. And if I"m tired or don't feel good, it will be ok for me to not go anywhere and just enjoy poolside or my room.

LOL on WWoHP. I'm not a Harry Potter fan so I wouldn't have known that.

Well I hope you have a very Happy Birthday. The other solo poster is also celebrating her birthday that week. If you both where your birthday pins you might bump into each other. :)

I can't wait. 22 days to go! :cheer2:

So, for those of you who will be there the first week of Feb, what days are you doing which parks and why? I'm still trying to solidify my schedule and make the most of my time there!

Here's what I have
Sun Feb 2: MK all day
Mon Feb 3: AK morning, HS afternoon w/ f! Dining package
Tues Feb 4: Universal morning, Epcot evening (questioning this since it's AM EMH)
Wed Feb 5: AK morning, evening either DHS or Epcot, whichever I need to see more
Thurs Feb 6: whatever I need to see still, leave for airport in the afternoon

I'm trying to take advantage of EMH and then hopping to another park...

3rd - Epcot, hop for BOG dinner 6:30
4th - MK
5th - HS - H&V breakfast
6th - Universal
7th, 8th, we're doing whatever parks we feel like - maybe waterparks??
9th - AK
10th - Probably park hopping like we did last year for anything the boys really want to do again one last time before heading home on 11th

We are going 2-8. We aren't totally following the rec park days because we have a group coming that us only staying a few days. We are following as closely as we can. My first trip since 1989, so I am no expert!

Sun Feb 2 Super Bowl and arrival day-MK
(Not the most rec park, but it is how we want to start and we won't get there until 1 anyway)
Mon 3-Epcot-not the most rec day, but they changed EMH on me and I've got ADRs all set
Tues 4-DHS-rec day
Wed 5-MK-most rec day
Thur-rest day
Fri-AK rec day
Sat-MK not a rec day, but only going in the morning, last day

Your days look great. I look at touring plans and easywdw.

Feb 1 travel day getting in late
Feb 2 Epcot with Dinner at San Angel Inn
Feb 3 DHS with MM F! package
Feb 4 MK with WCC Dinner
Feb 5 AK then who know where Dinner in Coral Reef
Feb 6 Dinner at LTT and Wishes Fireworks
Feb 7 Dinner at Garden Grill but still do not know what park
Feb 8 DTD for lunch T-Rex then fly home late.

We have park hoppers so this might change a little bit. We are not big planning people so we will see how we feel.

Arriving Feb 2 and leaving the morning of the 8th. We are doing 2 days at SeaWorld and 2 days visiting family prior. 4 total travel days to and from Florida. We basically planned our week based on our kids' interest and ADRs.

Day -1 MK - CRT - TLT Dessert Party
Day 2 - Epcot - Akershus - R & C - Garden Grill
Day 3 - AK - Tusker - Yak & Yeti
Day 4 - MK - Chef Mick. - BOG
Day 5 - Breakfast at Kona - Epcot - Coral Reef - Resort in the afternoon
Day 6 - MK - Crystal Palace - Tony's - Resort in the afternoon

We may substitute HS for swimming if it is too cold. My 5 & 10 year old love to eat out, so they are as excited about the food as they are riding. Lol.

Feb 3 AK with Tusker lunch and DD ***tons Crab dinner
Feb 4 MK with CRT breakfast and Citricos dinner
Feb 5 DD (BBB appt) with Raglan Irish Pub dinner
Feb 6 Epcot with Akershus lunch and BOG dinner (DDs Birthday)
Feb 7 DHS with 50's Primetime Cafe dinner

Reasons?
I've heard AK is a half day and that is all we have the 1st day
MK all day the second day because DD is a princess crazy girl
DTD with the BBB appt in the middle of the week for a breather
Epcot with 2 special dining experiences for her birthday
HS - wrapping it all up on the last day.

It's our first trip, so I hope it works!
