OK, so I am scrappin' tonight and I am using my Perfect Layers set to make mats for my pictures. Well, if you have ever seen this system, it uses an X-acto type craft knife. I knew that I was too much of a goofball to use this thing without injury for long... and tonight it happened. I just cut my finger with the knife, and it's a nice large gash too! I went downstairs to get a band-aid and DH asked what was wrong. I showed him my scrappin' injury and he said, "Wow, hon, I didn't know that you were an EXTREME SCRAPBOOKER!" :rotfl:

So, come on, join the new breed of extreme scrappers! Anyone else have any scrap-related injuries? :teeth:

Yikes! I haven't cut myself yet but I'll be more careful from now on.

I was hand-sewing something on my page and jammed the needle right into my finger, so I do know the hazards of "Extreme Scrapbooking!" I have also received my fair share of paper cuts from cardstock, so I am something of a klutz.

I just received my perfect layers in the mail from QVC (it was on backorder). Now after hearing your story, I am a little afraid to use it! :earseek:

I use a olfa rotary cutter with my perfect layers. I've only cut myself once using this,I wasn't looking and picked it up by the blade  ,yes I am a klutz.

Yikes! I knew there was a reason that I hadn't used mine (of course, I "had" to have it). Maybe the rotary cutter would be safer with it.

No injuries here (yet) so maybe I could qualify under Extreme Scrap Shopper :cool1:

Speaking of QVC, they've got more scrapping shows coming up this Monday...

I dropped my sizzix on my foot once. Can you say OUCH!!!!! That thing is heavy.

I also fell down our steps carrying my SB bag and broke two toes and scrapped my shins. I was on my out to my LSS to scrap. I still went. Did not pass the hospital, but I got lot of pages done that night as it hurt too much to look around and shop.

Scrappin' with broken toes... that is what I call dedication!!! :teeth:

No serious injuries yet, but I figured it's only a matter of time. I'm always cut or bruised somewhere. I looked at one of those little sewing machines at ACMoore one week in Jan when they were on sale for $5. I decided against it because I've had my fill of putting the machine needle into my index finger....not an experience I care to repeat!

I did have some serious paper cuts on my fingers from doing those quilled birds for the Everything Swap. They were so bad at one point I had to quill with bandaids on my fingers to keep from having 2-tone birds. ;)

no injuries here yet either
but I am ALWAYS dropping the dang sizzlets containers - while they are open -
it is NOT fun putting all those little things back in order :sad2:

Do you know how sharp a new pair of cutter bee sizzors are? Pretty darn sharp . . .yep, enough to cut yourself pretty bad! Since my first day using them I'm much more careful.

I did the same thing with my cutter bee scissors.

sorry to steal the thread, but ilovedale3, do I know you? Where are you in GA?

Sunny,

I live in Loganville & I'm originally from Cartersville. That's my pic in my siggy!

I saw your pic, that's what made me wonder. You look so much like a girl I went to school with. :) :confused3
Well, nice to meet you. :wave2:

School? High school or college? I went to Belmont University in Nashville for college...

High School, Middle School, ...
Haven't seen her in a while, but you really do look like her. Her name is Megan. :confused3

Back on topic:
I keep a small first aid kit in my scrapbooking stuff for those little emergencies! Count me in the club!

Tee Hee.....Mine was with the CM circle cutters It never failed every time I went to open or close them I would get a small stab wound! Luckily I used them so much they are no longer super sharp!
Oh and i have poked myself with my pointy sissors...not sure how but......

I'm always getting rather severe paper cuts, that need to be bandaged before I bleed on pages. I have also trimmed my finger nails with the personal trimmer. The worst one was last week, though. I was measuring the paper backing from my tape runner to find out how much tape I had used. (Helping a neighbor for a scrapbook for church and only wanted to charge what I used. Please don't think I'm a scrooge, it was at cost for supplies and nothing for my time). Anyway I got the worst paper cut in the world. The scab is still there. Yikes! Only I could do major damage with paper!
