Official DISNEY Cake Chatter Thread - Part II

Hey everyone,
Thanks so much for all of the great information. After months of searching and reading the threads, here's what I ended up asking for. This cake is a surprise for my parent's 20th anniversary.
We are staying at BLT and I have emailed with Brian, He has been great.
I asked for a chocolate 6" cake with white buttercream.
Something Bay Lake Tower "modern Mickey" themed - some kind of modern hidden Mickey celebration pattern.
Colors: "Mickey" colors - red, golden yellow, white, black
Words: "Happy 20th Anniversary Neil and Bonnie" in a pretty cursive
No fondant.
Around $60 range if possible.

Let me know what he responds!! I was thinking of something around the same lines. There will only we 3 of us and I do not want a huge cake. Your requests sound similar to mine. Are you having this delivered to the room or at a resturant? I heard the smallest delivered to the room is 10 inches. I was hoping for a room delivery, but could do it at a resturant is needed. Good luck!!

I will definitely let you know! I didn't want a huge cake either since it is just 4 of us, and with the dining plan we will have tons of desserts - but I have heard the smallest that will be customized at the Contemporary is 8 inch. Hopefully Brian can do 6 inch for me, otherwise I will go up to a 8 inch. We are having it delivered to the room. He had said it wouldn't be a problem to deliver, so hoping it works out!
I wasn't really sure how to word my request - but I think it will turn out well!
This cake is for July 14th. When are you going?

I apologize if I have missed this, but can one get a white chocolate castle topper for a cake at CRT? My daughter loves white chocolate, so I was thinking about getting something like that to go on top of her cake. I know that I've seen the figures (not the castle, but Mickey etc..) individually in one of the sweet shoppes, but don't remember where. Also, about how much are they?

The small Mickey Head cakes are very inexpensive, around $4. They count as a snack credit if you have the DDP.

My dad will be turning 60 the day we arrive at WDW. We are staying at BLT (pre-DVC-purchase-test-run) and have ADRs for The Wave at CR that night.

I would like to get him a cake as a surprise. I arranged the personal menu and diver sign at Coral Reef during our first-ever Christmas season trip a few years back - he still talks about that, so I know this is something he would appreciate.

We are a party of 8 WDW lovers (Dad, Mom, Me, my sister, her husband and my 3 nephews (one will be just over 3yo, the twins will be 16mos).

I'm thinking cupcakes might be a good option (especially for the boys), but not sure if Disney could do something cool with them or not. Anyone have any experience with this?

In terms of themes, I'm considering Peter Pan (Peter Pan's Flight is one of my dad's favourites), Snow White (my mom's the princess and well, each of the rest of us can relate to one of the dwarfs), Handy Manny (my dad is an electrician by trade and the neighbourhood Mr. Fix-it), or even classic characters (Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Hughie, Dewie, Louie).

I don't want to go overboard pricewise - have you seen what little kids do to cake? - but I would like to do something neat or interesting.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Has anyone gotten a cake at Old Key West? We will be staying there for 8 nights this Christmas and wanted to get a cake to welcome the kids. We didn't get the BLT they wanted so I thouhgt maybe it would be cool to make OKW even more special.

Our cake yesterday at the BC was AMAZING!! Everything I asked for and then some!! White cake, white buttercream, white chocolate Jedi Mickey on top and no fondant!!! The best thing ever (aside from everyone in the place loving the cake) was that I was quoted $96.57 and the bill said $45 which was super!!! BC offered to hold the cake for us until we'd finished shopping at DTD which was another great surprise too!! I can't wait to get my thoughts together and send my thank yous to Disney for everyone's hard work. I will have pictures posted soon.
