Official DIS Board Dining Ratings

Hi everyone. I, like a lot of other people out here, rely on all of your valuable opinions on all of the restaurants around the World. It has been an invaluable resource in helping us make our dining plans and to try new places.

One thing I've noticed is that opinions on certain restaurants vary from day to day, week to week, and thread to thread. This could lead to some serious dining mistakes for some folks. Likewise, people may steer clear of some of the best places or hidden gems.

I am wondering if anyone has ever tried to compile a set of ratings for the WDW eating establishments? If so, please post a link.

It would be great to look at a chart and see that Le Cellier is rated 5 stars by the DIS and 1900 Park Fare has 2 stars (just hypothetical examples, people - no flames please).

Obviously, a lot of time and effort would have to go into this, but it may prove to be very worthwhile.

Please let me know what you think of the idea and if you have any suggestions for a rating system.

Personally, I don't. Food is too subjective. What one person loves, another person hates. I'm a big proponent of "try it yourself before passing judgment"

no rating system - different people like different things. If somewhere appeals to you, go and make your own determination. There are places that people rave about and I will not go for any reason and vice versa.

There is no one correct opinion on any restaurant

I was thinking more of a Zagat style system based on compellation of data. I was not suggesting that there was an absolute opinion, just a popular one.

The most comprehensive dining ratings for WDW are in the "Unofficial Guide Book to Walt Disney World". They have compiled more ratings than I think the DisBoard could ever hope to. Zagat also does a WDW edition. I have read them and they do a decent job.

The problem with many "ratings" is that many people will rate the restaurant atmosphere and not the food. Hence why people flock to CRT all the while that the food gets panned there.
