*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

Folks, keep trying for the times you want! I was just able to move the lunch at Via Napoli from 1:45 to 12:45. This is ideal and was not an option an hour ago!!

Just waiting to book the star wars dessert party for 12/3. I think we have everything else we want. I wonder what surprises Disney will have for us before December?

We're wanting a Star Wars dessert party too, later in December.

I'm anxiously waiting to see what will happen between now and trip time...hopefully it's all good stuff and no BAD surprises!! I'm trying to remain positive!

Only thing I'm still waiting for is Tutto Italia candlelight processional (none of the CM's I spoke with know why this is still not available) and ROL Dining package.

Sat Dec 17 Candlelight processional (Chefs for now)
Sunday Dec 18 BOG@545, MVMCP, dessert party
Monday Dec 19th Wild Africa Trek, Tiffins lunch, ?ROL package
Tuesday Dec 20th Birthday dinner at Citrico's Chef Domain followed by private wishes cruise

Short trip but packed.

I haven't seen the HDDR since I was a kid and my husband never did so I thought this trip would be the perfect time for it.
Neither of us has seen it, and we have been to Disney 5 times before this trip! Here's hoping it is as good as they say it is.

Well hi there everyone! I am so, so excited for our trip! This will be our 3 trip to WDW, all at Christmas! We love it. :) Glad to have a group for our festive, magical trip.

Our group is:
DH 43 and DS 12 and me
BBF 43 and her DH 43, DS 14 and DS 5 (only been in the summer)
BFF's inlaws (haven't been in eons)

Staying at Swan Dec 16-18 (is this considered onsite?)
Staying offsite at Holiday Inn Orange Lake until Dec 24

As you can see, it's all boys except for me and my BFF. No princesses for us! They are all about Star Wars and thrill rides. Their youngest son has never been. I know he will be so happy! Any SW touring tips will be great!

Still trying to decide if we want to go to MVMCP. Tickets are way more than I expected. We haven't been since Christmas 2013, so a lot has changed since then.

Excited to meet all of you!

Well first of all full disclosure I'm not the biggest SW fan but I've dabbled in some of the threads. I'm going to link you to the Star Wars thread they are definitely on top of everything and anything Star Wars ask them and they will answer for sure.

http://www.disboards.com/threads/of...r-fireworks-dessert-party-launch-bay.3439569/

They talk about it all.
-Jedi training (I believe you have to be under 12 to do it though but don't quote me on that)
-StarWars night time show (it has changed and is only scheduled through July but we will most likely have some version of it in December, fingers crossed frozen mania doesn't take over like it has everything else lol)
-dessert party and viewing
-launch bay
-meet and greets

I'm sure I'm missing other stuff

One thing that I've seen not mentioned on that thread is the seperate SW meet and greet if you have a Disney Chase Visa. It's an exclusive meet and usually the times are a lot shorter for it I hear.

Edit: nvm the moderator actually does discuss the chase meet and greet i probably missed it somehow the first time I went through it. That thread is incredibly long (over 400 pages) but almost everything you need to know is on the first page in great detail by the moderator. After that just skim or start asking questions.

Happy planning :)

We use Starpoints and stay at the Swan or Dolphin most of our trips, so we'll overlap a bit (Dec 17-21). You will get free parking at the parks while staying at the Swan (hint- keep your room key when you check out), be able to participate in EMH and book FP+ at 60 days instead of 30. The rest of your days offsite may open up, one day at a time, at the 60 day mark.

The location for the Swan is great- take advantage of the walking distance to Epcot while you are there.

Have fun!

Between the trips as a kid and as an adult this will be my 8th. We did SOA for the first time last trip and enjoyed it. We had been hesitant to do a dinner show before because my husband has food allergies and I only eat certain meat. We knew how great Disney is with the food allergies but were not sure about the shows and finally decided to try. They did a great job. We have to call the HDDR a month before this trip to discuss what they can do. Where are you staying?

Great tip! Thanks so much!

That's funny we had SOA booked too for this trip. My parents our taking our children there the night we do HDDR. My husband will eat anything, but I already know I most likely will not anything on the menu. We are staying at CSR Nov. 26 to Dec.7. How about you?

We will be at the YC from
12/2-12\11. Are you going to try to see if they can make stuff for you that you can eat? Where are you guys from? We are in MD.

We are now booked for 12/20-12/25 staying at Polynesian. So excited to be going during December to see all the decorations.

No, I just won't eat. I am used to doing that. I will eat a cupcake after or something. We are from NY. We are 3 families meeting up to celebrate a lot special events this year. My mom always wanted to stay at the YC. I wish we could have this trip because we are celebrating her 60th birthday and my parents 40th anniversary. That upgrade would have made for a great surprise. Are you guys celebrating or doing anything else special?

I need some opinions on Akershus!! We skipped it last year but kept our CRT. DD was excited to eat at the castle. Well excited for a tomboy 2 year old. She's a little more into princesses these days but not over the top. We have another CRT this year but wondering about how necessary both would be. Or even do Akershus as something new and skip CRT... So many decisions!!

Breakfast is really the only serving period I think has value- It's pricey but at least for breakfast it all you care to eat. We have a breakfast for 12/14- looking forward to it.

And the cheesy potatoes are amazing. And the interaction with the princesses is never rushed.

That's wonderful! Nothing special for us. We will be there to enjoy the holiday season. This will be our 4th trip during this time. We have been twice for Thanksgiving and this will be our second in early Dec. We don't have kids so can travel when we like and try to go every few years. Next time we might switch things up a little and go either in the spring for the flower and garden festival or fall for Halloween.

Been to F&G twice in April- Absolutely beautiful and the food and adult drinks were really and nice touch.
