Thanks TruBlu. I just checked the calendar and it confirmed that the park choices I made a few months ago are great ones. I hope we get to meet at AKL!
I've got a couple of days at MK that are level 6. :scared1: But, it really works for us to be there those days, so we are just going to go knowing it will probably be crowded. Since we're used to being there in June, it may still be less than we are used to. :goodvibes

We'll have to plan a time to meet! I've always wanted to run into some DISers but have never been so lucky. :)

Is anyone going to MK on 12/4 during the parade taping or have ever been during the parade taping. I have a co-worker who is set on MK on 12/4 even though I tried to steer him in another direction. He is only going to MK on that one day and not doing an other parks (going to Universal - teenage boys). I am looking for any type of guidance to give him on how to tour the park that day or even what to expect. Any information would be great!

WOW! I think they opened up more tables at Le Cellier!!!!! I just got 2 dinners at GREAT times!!! :cheer2:

None for me :sad1:

Just checked each night of my trip 12/15 - 12/19 and nothing. Still holding out hope I snag one.

I plan to avoid the MK that day and we are doing Epcot that afternoon/evening instead.

To actually participate in the parade filming, you have to be registered I believe and have a special ticket. They will be taping most of the morning and those folks might stay in the park that evening to play. so it could get crowded in the afternoon/evening. The morning might not be too bad, as folks involved with the parade have to stay there the entire filming, they can't just wander off for a quick ride. So Main St. will be packed, but the rest of MK might be normal that morning. I fear it will be crowded that night though. As with any park day, i would recommend getting there EARLY, hitting the mountains first and other big attractions that form long lines (dumbo, peter pan, pooh etc.) and use FP. Save the shows or other less popular rides for later in the day when it might get more crowded, maybe even schedule a sit down dinner?

Well, I just got my vacation approved for Dec 21 1/2 day and Dec 22, we are already closed on Dec 23. We will probably hit the road shortly after I get home from work and be at WDW mid-evening, unless DH's boss doesn't let him have 1/2 day off, but I think he will.

Now, if I could just get my BFF's trip all planned, she keeps going back and forth on stuff and there are no reservations at this late date, especially for her family of 9, I told her not to wait, but she couldn't get any info from her kids. I'm working around with what I can.

Today I am doing the Happy Dance! I just put the deposit down on an unexpected, but oh so exciting first Christmastime trip to WDW.

I just happened to get a notice that my frequent flyer miles were going to expire. So I checked out how many miles flights would be to Orlando during my daughter's birthday on Dec 11. I didn't have very high expectations as the amount of miles needed for round trip flights has gone up exponentially. To my surprise I was going to be able to get 2 round trip tickets for the amount of miles that I had saved. Woohoo! :cheer2:

So needless to say, I booked them and then purchased two more.

Now we are planning a quick trip to WDW from Dec 10 - 14 - just enough days to satisfy any Disney cravings before we make a regular length trip next May.

Sshhh... though....to make it more fun we haven't told our kids as it is going to be a complete surprise for my DD's 6th birthday. I am open to any and all suggestions about how to reveal the surprise.

We are staying at POR and cannot wait for all the surprises to come out and the celebrations to begin!

Very Exciting!

I surprised the kids earlier this year with a mom and kids trip by printing up an easy reader book with pics of the kids from Disney trips (with wording like XXX and XXX love Disney World; They love to go on rides; They love to watch parades; etc until the end where there was a "surprise" image from the DIS and wording that said They love to go again and again!) and had DS (6) read it at story time one night.

We are also going for a few nights in Dec. and are surprising them for this one as well, but this time with a Christmas lanyard and a couple pins to get them started on a Christmas pin lanyard.

Happy Surprising! :goodvibes

I bought my daughter a really nice cinderella costume after halloween on deep discount, and wrapped it up for her last year. When she opened it I told her that she got to wear it for lunch with Cinderella at her castle. It was a wonderful surprise for her 5th birthday!!!

For my DS, I wrapped up a few little disney toys.

We're heading to Pop Dec 10-15! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

We're going with friends, so it should be a fun trip! My PTR is with one of the other travelers. I'm sooo excited. My husband and daughter have never been, so its going to be a brand new experience!

We were orignally planning a trip next May, but then another trip we had for the fall fell through, so my best friend was already going to WDW in Dec, so we were able to jump in with them! And then another friend wanted to go, so I said SURE! :grouphug:

Hello! I heard on a DIS Podcast that the parade is taped over Friday Saturday and Sunday... :scared1: This worries me because I originally was planning around it which I thought was only Saturday the 4th... :santa:

Turns out we are going to do MK the Friday the 3rd and also the MVMCP that evening. Will the normal park schedules stay?

They did the same thing last year. It was supposed to be the performances on the Friday but it rained (that is why Celine Dion performed in the GF) then it was supposed to be parade taping on the sat and sunday was a backup day. We left on the sat and were happy it rained on the friday cause we were at MK that day and we saw the Jonas Brothers leave and all the screaming teens leave with them :)

That is funny!!! :rotfl: Fortunately, neither of my DD's are smitten with the Jo Bros!!

So what would you do? Would you leave all your plans in place or should I consider rethinking that Friday night? At this point, we wouldn't be able to get another CRT which we have that evening... :confused3

I doubt that a 15 yr and 18 yr old boys are going to be intertested in dumbo, peter pan and pooh anyhow. I was going to instruct them to do things like Buzz, HM, Pirates, JC in the morning and collect FP to use later in the afternoon. Is it going to be a big problem getting from one side of the park to the other? Will this all have to be done behind the castle to avoid all of main st and the hub? I am not sure if toon town will even be there at that point, but I figure at that age they could care less about anything back there anyhow. If they can get FP in the am for SM, SpM and BTMRR then they should be all set and use them in the afternoon. Any thoughts on this? They will be leaving around 2:00 and going to DTD for a late lunch early dinner at the House of Blues, so they probably won't be returning until around 5:00 or 6:00. They want to catch Spectro and Wishes that night.
