Thanks everyone for answering my question about going to character dining with just adults.

I won't feel so weird now when we go :lmao:

I honestly would rather meet them in that setting then having to stand in line at a park. I mean yes I still have to wait for them to come to my table but while I'm waiting I can be eating so the time will go faster. :)

Thank you for posting that link! I'd never seen it before and it made me want to cry! I'm a sap when it comes to the Disney commercials!! Can't wait!!!!

It's weird because the commercial isn't sad in any way. I thin see kids happy, and imagining they are your own is what makes people get choked up watching it.

See now, do you feel the clothes have to be re-washed when packed? I figured instead of putting the summer clothes in the bin in the attic, I would just pack what we need and put the suitcase in my closet. DH says they'll stink by the time we leave:confused3.

I will re-wash everything simply because it will all get wrinkled from me rifling thru it over and over again. Lets face it, I would rather do wash than iron. :laundy:

So just out of curiosity, has anyone else started a packing list or a Disney box? :confused3 It's ok if you tell me I'm the only nut job here. :lmao:

I've been adding to my Disney box for about a month now. I just picked up some more green glow sticks and hand wipes yesterday. :rolleyes1 I have our autograph pens, ponchos, hand sanitizer, sun block and light-up toys from last year in it already. I like the idea of packing our summer clothes away in the suitcase. ;) I even bought a new suitcase last week.; its red. :santa:

I need a little Disney magic this morning. No particular reason, just in a funk. Part of the appeal of Disney is that you can be a kid again and forgot all of your worries. Lately, i've been wrapped up in the same routine and i'm always thinking about work and bills. Not sure when I became a worrier. I used to be laid back and pretty care free.

Anyway, it does help that I ordered the Beauty and the Beast blu ray from Amazon this morning! Maybe this weekend we'll make my daughter's countdown ring. That will be fun.

We'll be there from December 7 to 14 at BLT. We plan on doing the DVC Member meeting on December 9.

We will be going back at the end of December to spend NYE at the Magic Kingdom, also staying at BLT.

David
Where is the DVC member meeting- i need to read up on it and see if it is something we want to do - we are newbies!

pixiedust: OK. Here's some pixie dust just for YOU! In the words of Dory, "just keep swimming" and you'll get through the funk. It's good you are planning something fun "Disneyish" to do this weekend. That may help. But just in case....here's some more pixiedust: for you. :goodvibes

It's the 75 day dance for me today!

And DS was nominated for Character Counts at his school this month. The teachers are allowed to nominate one student from their class to receive a Character Counts award and my DS was the first one nominated this year! (Can you say "proud mama?") DH and I get to attend his lunch today where he will be given his award and we get to find out why he was nominated. They don't tell the student or the parents why they were nominated until the lunch.

I must have eaten stupd flakes this morning for breakfast. When you said "In the words of Dory" My first thougt was, it's not Dory, it's Dora! Took a second to realize that this is about Disney not Nickelodeon.

Then you mentioned he was nominated for Character Counts, and I thought he would be doing stuff like. 1. Mickey Mouse 2. Donald Duck 3. Goofy, 4 Pluto 5. Minnie Mouse... Unitl it dawned on me it wasn't a counting game.

Ironing? Oh yeah, that's what we call it when we throw a wet towel in the dryer with wrinkled clothes. :rotfl2:

76 Days left 'til the big parade!

That works?

With everything except DH's cotton dress shirts and they go to the $1.25 dry cleaners. :rotfl: I hate ironing so much that I take clothes out of the dryer as soon as they are dry and lay them flat or hang them up immediatly.

Only 70 more days to go! Soon we'll be in the 60s!!!! party:

I've gotten too lazy to even throw clothes in the dryer...I just wear them wrinkled. Well, unless they are really, really, realllllly wrinkled. Then I will just put them away and hope the wrinkles disappear on their own. :lmao:

We've been having an "issue" with stinkbugs at our house. So last night DH and I came home from the county fair to discover our room INFESTED with them. (EWWWWW!) :headache: And we spent about an hour vacuuming them up and getting them out of there. I had 2 brand new suitcases in our bedroom and they had even crawled into the one that was slightly unzipped and just made themselves at home. (again...EWWWWWW!) When I woke up this morning, there was a stinkbug convention on my ceiling. Spent 40 minutes vacuuming them up again. Then I realized that our central air was not working...and it has decided to be summer in MD again. I'm hot. I'm sweaty. And my room has "eau de stinkbug." And the A/C people can't come until this afternoon. Otherwise I'd have DH take out the window unit in our bedroom and seal off the windows. Came home from DS's lunch....and there was a stinkbug party going on. I had two baskets of clean laundry in there and had to take out each piece of clothing and shake the bugs out. And then this afternoon, I took the pictures off the walls, moved the furniture out from the walls and vacuumed behind them. DH sealed the A/C window unit with Duct tape (Just call him MacGyver! ) and we are waiting to see if we got most of them. Thankfully they seem to only be in our bedroom and not the rest of the house, but I am getting totally paranoid. I walk around with the vacuum cleaner in my hand and have started trash-talking to them. :rolleyes1 An occasional bug doesn't creep me out too much, but a blanket of them is completely gross!!!

That sounds awful! We live in MD and never had them....are they common???

We usually have a few and they are usually worse in the fall as it starts to get colder, but it has never been this bad. Last year it was the deer ticks that were so bad. My DS and I have both had Lymes disease (both recovered now). But this year it's the stink bugs. And they have no natural enemies. They won't hurt you--they just...well, stink! :headache: And they buzz around annoyingly.

DH says they are a "plague of Biblical proportions." So far they haven't damaged any of our crops or anything, but I'm so creeped out by them right now that I told him if I go back up to our bedroom and they are all over the ceiling again, I'm staying at a hotel until the A/C is fixed and we can take that window unit out! He did this:

My advice to you is buy a couple of pet iguanas and tarantulas. They should help with the issue.

I have made a spreadsheet of the park times for our trip.
What is the likelihood that Disney will change those times before December?
