**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

We had to amend our vacation so we are now staying at AKL Jambo House from Dec 22nd- Dec. 28th. Our ADR are:

Dec 22nd Boma (dinner)

Dec 23rd Crystal Palace (dinner)

Dec 24th Cape May (dinner)

Dec 25th (Sister's house)

Dec 26th Ohana (dinner)

Dec 27th Tusker House (Lunch)

The wait is driving me insane!!!:dance3:

Love, love, love those shirts!!! :)

AND... I was REALLY happy today when I realized that I only have 3 MORE MONDAYS to work before my trip!!!!! :woohoo:

I am pretty disappointed in the direction this thread has taken.... a handful of people talk back and forth while a lot of questions/concerns/comments from others go unnoticed. ALSO, there seems to be more and more off topic posts and replies that take up space and the readers time.
I've not been around much lately. Is there something you asked that didn't get answered? There are some GREAT people on this thread that would never intentionally ignore a question. I'm really sorry that happened to you. So, what do you need to know? I'll see if I can help. :)

AND, feel free to jump in and celebrate with us. We are all just super happy about our trips and can't help but ramble on sometimes. :flower3:

I posted this question a while back and I'm going to repost it with hopes that someone might have some insight :)

My family will be arriving on Dec 2, Dec 3 is our first full day in the parks and right now my plan is MK - I have lunch ressies at the Plaza and GFC for supper.

I'm concerned about the xmas parade taping - I was hoping to go to the Bakery - am I crazy? Will there be a TON of people down main street? And also, does the parade taping happen all day?

I was in the MK in 2003 during the parade taping and don't remember it ever being an issue, but perhaps times have changed!

From what I have read, yes there will be a ton of people on main street. Also, if you aren't partcipating in the taping of the parade, you will be directed a different way to get to the rest of the park. So, you might want to ask a CM about going to the bakery.

From everything I have read they usually try to tape the singing portions on the first taping day and I think some of the parade. As far as I know Main Street is full of people for the parade. They want it to look full. They say other parts of the park are not as bad, but I don't know how easily you will get to the bakery on that day. Are you going to MK any other days? I think I would make the bakery visit another day if it was me.

This page is found in the "Doing the Happy Dance" folder. Everyone on here is happy dancing about something, or hoping to happy dance soon if they are trying to overcome a problem in their life. It all relates back to this being a community of friends who feel they can share with others. I don't think questions are going unnoticed, I think that people are not answering because they might not know the answer.

As for me, I'm doing the happy dance :goodvibes

I've been so busy with work and school I haven't had time to do my "this time next month" updates  So quickly, here they are:

On Dec 11 we have an 8:25 ADR for Tusker House so we can get in the park before it opens :) We liked this place last time and it's a guaranteed way to see Donald, who is my husband's favorite character. Our number one goal on this day is to ride Expedition Everest, we missed it last time due to rain  We also want to do the Dinosaur ride and the Safari. We have a 2:30 lunc ADR at Yak + Yeti, which we loved last time and are very excited to go back to. We are also hoping to see the Jingle JUngle parade on this day. After leaving this park, we'll go back to CSR, clean up, and head over to the monorail resorts to check out their decorations before having dinner at CA Grill for the first time. We have a 9:30 ADR so we can hopefully see Wishes while were there:cloud9:

On Dec 12 we're going to spend the day at HS, and probably start the day with a pastry for breakfast. Our must do's here are TOT, TSM, and RRC. Would also be Star Tours, but its under refurb. DH is pretty bummed, but I keep telling him it will be for the better. I think Captain EO will be on our list as well, if it's still there. We're having weird meal times today so we could fit in all the places we wanted to go to in this park: 11:10 am at 50's Prime Time, 4:15 pm at Sci-Fi DIne-In (two favorites), and we're planning to walk over to the Yachtsman SH (a new one for us) for dinner. Is that within walking distance? Otherwise I'm sure we could hop on resort transportation to the YC/BC. Either before or after dinner we are going to need to see the Osbourne lights, too!

On Dec 13 we're waking up bright and early, renting a car, and driving to IOA to see WWOHP!:wizard: We're pretty excited, and if the Universal parks are anything like the Hollywood one in off-season, we should be able to see and do everything we want within 4 to 6 hours. We're planning on grabbing breakfast on the way there at Chick-Fil-A, we don't have them in Las Vegas, but we love them so much!:laughing: While at the park, we're hoping to eat at the 3 Broomsticks, but if the wait to crazy, we'll just play it by ear. After an exhilerating day at the park, we'll return to CSR for dinner at Maya Grill (another new one following our eat at your hotel once rule :rotfl:), and maybe have a drink in the bar since it will still be somewhat early.

On Dec 14 we'll be returning to Universal, this time to the other park, Studios?:confused3 We'll again snag breakfast at Chick-Fil-A and play lunch by ear, maybe somewhere on the CityWalk. I hear they have pretty popular Mediteranean place, maybe since Cat Cora closed on us we'll go there for our fix :rotfl: This night we'll be bumping into Daddy of Princesses and his entourage at the Aloha dinner show. This will be our first time here, and as I'm not very interested in traveling to Hawaii (not sure why, just not:confused3) this probably all the Luau I'll ever get :rotfl:. I'm planning to take advantage of the wine situation :woohoo: and DH the beer  After this we'll be calling it a night.

Finally! On this day in one month, we will wake up early to return our rental car and have the shuttle take us to OKW for breakfast at Olivia's for the first time. DH is interested in the the Conch eggs benedict (i think thats what it was, the conch dish either way ) or the breakfast Cuban. I'm eyeing something sweeter :) We'll explore a bit around here before going over to EPCOT for our first full day there, and our last full day in the parks. Our must do's are test track, mission space, spaceship earth, and soarin' (although I wish they'd get their own video, I feel like the other one should stay in Cali, but maybe that's my close to DLR bias :confused3). We have our second most prized ADR :worship:(after CA Grill) for lunch, Le Cellier. We've never been here and are super excited! For dinner, we are trying Tutto Italia and we have the CP package with that! So psyched! In between all this eating we are hoping to get in as many Fab Four shows as we can (they change every hour, progressing through the Beatles history), DH is a huge fan and that was a promise made to get him back here  I also want to squeeze in the Behind the Seeds Tour if we have time, I love the ride and I'd love to take it a little further. We'd also like to fit in some of the Christmas storytellers, if we can. Luckily we will have that very first night to hear some of them, too, so we won't feel so rushed this day, hopefully....

What will you be doing in the parks one month from today?

:woohoo: Still waiting for mine, maybe today, my mail doesn't usually get here til about 4 my time.

really? My tags are the exact same.. no hologram

Could it be because you are in Canada? Maybe you get different international stuff? BTW, I'm originally from Niagara Falls, NY, but have lots of family on the Canadian side, are you close to there?

The kids and friends that are going with us finished their shirts for MVMCP last night...turned out great (considering done by kids 8/5/5/3/2)!!

I love this thread and am enjoying reading the ideas and plans of fellow DISers. All of us encounter trials and I don't feel that sharing them here in any way detracts from the purpose of this thread. No bah humbug here!

BTY on "topic" Check out my ticker - 24 DAYS!!!
and Emma you are the thread Fairy Godmother - don't know how you do it, but you deserve :worship:

Oh, I like the "one month from now" updates. Our trip will be almost over though :(

I will go back -

12/10 - Arrive at MCO at 11:15 am. We should be at Epcot by 2 PM ish. We have an ADR at Le Cellier that night and EMH. We will hopefully catch Illuminations as well, but not a must see. The kids will want to do Soarin and Test Track, but the fast passes might be gone by the time we get there. DS really wants to do Mission Space too since we missed it last time.

12/11 - AK (we like to be at Rope Drop, but not sure that will happen since we will have a long day the first day). We have a late breakfast ADR at Tusker House and would like to stay at least until the parade. Must dos are Expedition Everest and the Dino ride. We can skip the river ride since I was SOAKED last time. The kids will probably like the Safari too. We will play the evening by ear on how the kids are doing, but maybe Downtown Disney.

12/12 - Early ADR at Chef Mickey then to MK for Rope Drop. We will stay through the afternoon parade, and then head back for a nap (we try to plan at least a few nap days to help with the late nights). Must do at MK are Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. We like the Buzz Lightyear ride too. And there will be a lot of character meet n greets. If everyone is doing ok, we will hit HS for evening EMH.

12/13 - AK morning EMH if we didn't get in what we wanted on 12/11. We will head back to MK in the late afternoon. Debating on CP ADR that day or on the morning we leave. We will watch the evening parade and Wishes and stay for EMH.

12/14 - HS in the morning. Must dos include TOT, RRC, and Toy Story. DS is disappointed in Star Tours, but oh well. We will have dinner at Whispering Canyon and then head to MVMCP.

12/15 - Epcot in the morning to get Soarin and TT. Then to HS in the afternoon for the afternoon BBB, dinner at Mama Melrose, and Fantasmic.

Sneak Peak into tomorrow
12/16 - Morning EMH at MK, possibly an early lunch at CP, and then heading home.

I've got to get by Home Depot for my LGMHs. I'm not very crafty. Where can I get something to laminate them? :confused3 (I think I'm going to add little Santa hats! :santa:)

I'm concerned about the xmas parade taping - I was hoping to go to the Bakery - am I crazy? Will there be a TON of people down main street? And also, does the parade taping happen all day?
This is our first December trip, so I don't really know... BUT - If I wanted to go, I'd give it a try. I guess you just need to have a backup plan in case it is insane! :upsidedow
