Official December 2008

12/9 Epcot day, we have a ressie at Le Celliar for lunch at 12:15 and we hope to check out the Jr. Chef program at the Land at some point that day for the kids...seems fun and at the right price..free! :goodvibes

I think the Jr. Chef program ended. You may want to look into that.

November 30 - December 7th here!
49 days to go (which is FANTASTIC since I've counting since January!!! :yay: ) We're staying at POFQ (finally back where we belong!)
We don't have too too much planned besides our ADRs for each day (we're using the dining plan), but we will be doing:
Candlelight Processional - December 2, first showing (dinner package at Tutto Italia)
MVMCP - December 4 (plus I might go another night without DBFF since she's not as big of a fan of the parties as I am, and prefers earlier nights)

I am so excited! :woohoo: I have never been at this time of year, and I could really use some inspiration for a more magical Christmas this year! :santa: And Heaven knows my inner child is just screaming for some fun!

I really hope to meet a bunch of Disers this year too! But if I don't, I hope everyone has a fabulous time on their trips! :thumbsup2

My plans are still fluid, due to Mousefest...

12/10 Boatwrights for breakfast with a bunch of solo DISers, then over to MK or Epcot.

12/11 Mousefest 101/Mousefest Welcome at the CR, Dole whip meet at Aloha Isle, ScatCat lounge meet at night

12/12 DHS Mousefest events

12/13 Open Epcot, Mega Mouse Meet at Y&BC, DIS Unplugged meet and Fantasmic Dessert Party meet in evening.

12/14 Open MK, lunch at the Wave

12/15 Probably Epcot, listen to CP from outside the pavilion (you really don't need to have a seat to enjoy this...last performance is usually best for standing in back, since nobody's lined up anymore.)

12/16 Probably AK, lunch at Yak&Yeti

Our plans (subject to change):

12/12: Leave home, stopping somewhere between Brunswick, GA and St. Augustine, FL (depending on what time we get out of here).

12/13: Check-in at the Boardwalk. Walk over to Epcot and spend the day there.

12/14: Check-out of Boardwalk and head over to DHS for the morning before heading to Ft. Wilderness to check-in. We've camped at the Fort before, but this time we're staying in a cabin. After settling in, we'll probably go back to DHS for the evening to catch the Osborne Family Lights.

12/15: Going to MK for the day and maybe stay for p.m. EMH.

12/16: Epcot for the morning then back to the resort for a rest before heading over to MVMCP that evening. Celebrating my birthday early(exactly one week from this day).:bday:

12/17: Time to say, "Goodbye!" Driving back home today.

Keep in mind this is our Honeymoon and my husband's very first trip to the World. Yes, I've planned out pretty much every meal but I need to for my OCD and my food allergies. Sorry this is so long but once I get on a roll I can't shut up about our trip. ;)

12/6 Catch bus to CLT airport for flight to MCO. Arrive in Orlando just before 10 am. Driver for a town car will be waiting to take is to the Swan for our first three nights. After we arrive and get checked in we will head over to Beaches and Cream for lunch. Then we will head over to the Magic Kingdom. I will be paying close attention to Larry's face and reactions as he sees this wonderful place for the very first time. We have dinner at Ohana at 7:50 then we will go back to the MK until close hopefully.

12/7 We will be hitting HS after breakfast at Fresh. We hope to have lunch at Toy Story Pizza Planet and dinner is at Cape May at 7:10. After dinner we have an IllumiNations Cruise planned. Then we will go back to the Studios to see the Osbourne Lights.

12/8 Is an Epcot day. We will have breakfast at Ohana first then head over to Epcot. If we need lunch we will have it at Sunshine Seasons. Dinner is at San Angel.

12/9 We check out of the Swan and into Saratoga Springs and begin the Deluxe Dining Plan. We will go over to the AK after check-in then have lunch at Yak & Yeti. After we finish at the AK dinner is at Kona Cafe then we head over to the MK for MVMCP. This will be the first time I have attended this party.

12/10 This is another Epcot day. Lunch is at the Coral Reef with dinner at the Yachtsman.

12/11 We have an early breakfast at Chef Mickey's then we will go to the MK hopefully until close. Lunch is at Liberty Tree and after the park closes we go to Jiko for dinner.

12/12 We may sleep in a little this day and make use of the whirlpool tub before hitting Epcot again. Lunch is at Teppan Edo and dinner is at my favorite the Garden Grill. YUM! Those are actually two of my favorite dining locations at WDW.

12/13 We have an early breakfast at Crystal Palace then enjoy the MK for the day. For lunch we will probably go to Cosmic Ray's. We have dinner at Narcoossee's that night. After dinner we may head back to the MK until close.

12/14 We will have lunch at Le Cellier before heading to the airport for our return trip home.

If we happen to hit the lottery between now and December 14 our trip will be a lot longer. ;)

For each of our meals at a resort we will be checking out the resort decorations. I can't wait for Larry to see how awesome the WDW Christmas decorations are.

One of the nights I want to order a cake or some special dessert for celebration.

I feel like I'm forgetting something but I can't put my finger on it.

I lurked on your wedding report and can't believe your disneymoon is finally here! Your plans sound wonderful...hope you and DH have a wonderful time!!! Maybe we'll see you there!!:flower3:

There will be 6 of us going this trip - DH, me, DD (25), DS (23), DS (21) and DD (20)
We will be coming from Seattle and arriving very late on 11/28 at MCO, so we are spending our first night at the Hyatt at the airport. From there, we will go to the Grand Floridian and I have the following plans:
11/29 - Explore the resort a bit, maybe hit downtown Disney, then off to the MK and CRT for dinner
11/30 - Relax in the morning, then afternoon tea @ the Grand Floridian with just my daughter's and I (the boys will be on their own); we will all be attending the late Hoop de Doo performance.
12/1 - Breakfast @ the Grand Floridian Cafe; off to DHS where we will have lunch later in the day @ the Sci Fi Dine In (a family tradition). We will spend the whole day there - then I hope to return to the resort in time to see the Electric Water Pagaent.
12/2 - Breakfast at 1900 Park Faire, then we will be checking out, getting our rental car and heading to the offsite condo (using our points). We may do an airboat ride or go to Gatorland or similar park - and spend more time just relaxing at the condo.
12/3 - EPCOT - with lunch @ Teppan Edo and Dinner @ San Angel Inn
12/4 - MK day - late breakfast @ CP, dinner @ LTT (have always wanted to go here and am excited to get in before they change it to a non-character location), then we will be staying on for MVMCP.
12/5 - Universal day, then dinner @ 1900 Park Faire
12/6 - Back to DHS for a full day of entertainment - and lunch @ the 50's Prime Time Cafe and dinner @ the Hollywood Brown Derby.
12/7 - Sea World
12/8 - Busch Gardens
12/9 - ICE at Gaylord Palms and Universal
12/10 - Check out of our condo, turn in rental car, and head over to EPCOT. We have lunch ADR's at Tutto Italia, and a dinner CP package w/Rose & Crown. We'll be checking into the Contemporary Resort for the last few days of our stay.
12/11 - Breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Another day to relax - go to whatever park the kids want to go to. Late dinner @ Ohana.
12/12 - Breakfast at Boma, then go to the Animal Kingdom until it closes. From there we will freshen up and head over to EPCOT for our last night in the parks. Late dinner @ Chefs de France.
12/13 - Pack up and head on back home - have to be back at work bright and early 12/14 (bummer!)
I am really excited for our trip. This is the first time the whole family has been together for a vacation since our 2004 trip - during hot, humid hurricane season - complete with hurricane! We did a "do-over" trip in December 2006, but one son was unable/unwilling to come...so I'm looking forward to spending time with all my kids this time :goodvibes

Sounds wonderful!!!:goodvibes You have a lot of nice things planned and it sounds very leisurely....guess that's how vacations can be with grown kids, as opposed to our 5,3 & 1 year old....I hope our children will continue to vacation with us to Disney when they are your childrens age. Have a great time!!!! :grouphug:

Plans for Dec 6-13 (with a few question for you)

We have a group of 23! (I know--crazy) :scared: All family from Colorado :grouphug: --most first timers--staying off-site at timeshare

6 Dec (Sat) -- Since me, DH, DD (6), DD (3) will are arriving in FL 4 days early to visit MIL/FIL in the Tampa Bay area -- we decided to go to MK while we wait for everyone else to fly in. I hear they are taping the parade that day? Anyone know the truth on that--and if so, do you think it will be crazy cowded?

7 Dec -- HS with ADR lunch at Sci-Fi (never been before)

8 Dec -- Epcot-FW with ADR Story Book Princess breakfast:tinker: -- DDs are soooo excited to wear thier dresses and eat with all the princesses! :woohoo:

9 Dec -- MK (again) with ADR at Crystal Palace lunch with Pooh and Friends :tigger:

10 Dec -- Sea World :fish: and DTD at night with ADR for Wolf Gang Puck Express

11 Dec -- Open day (rest of party is going back to Epcot--WS--not sure is DDs will enjoy this--whats you opinion--will they get bored or do you think the Kidcot fun stops will be enough for them?

12 Dec -- AK with ADR at for Tusker House breakfast with Mickey and Friends :mickeyjum and trying to figure out how to get ADR for new T-REX in DTD -- any suggestions?
13 Dec -- Drive back to Tampa Bay area and stay there 3 more days and fly home to CO on 16th

Just a side question--has anyone had any problems taking thier kids out of school for WDW for DL trips? My DD
is in Kindergarten and though I've already talked to teacher and vice-p -- it seems very frowned apon.

I'd like to be added to the list! :yay:

We will be there 12/15-12/18 with absolutely NO PLANS....NO RESSIES...NO WORRIES, nothing! Totally fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants trip.

The only ressies we have are at the POP and our plane tickets. Otherwise its just a do-what-you-feel trip. :hippie:

We have reservations for here too. I think my (technical future engineering thinking) DS will love it. Very different than anything we have hear. No Chuckee Cheese, no...well, the 'funest' restaurant we have has a truck in the rafters that honks every now and then. lol sounds strange typing that.
I hear their Onion Rings and milkshakes are the best!
8 Dec -- Epcot-FW with ADR Story Book Princess breakfast:tinker: -- DDs are soooo excited to wear thier dresses and eat with all the princesses! :woohoo:
Again, we have this one as well. (we are on the dlx dining plan! we have a lot! lol) DD is a total princess and this will be great! She just wants to see Cinderella! Totally hear you on the princess outfits! DD might be 2.5 but she is a total diva.

9 Dec -- MK (again) with ADR at Crystal Palace lunch with Pooh and Friends :tigger:

We are doing Epcot 2 different days. I think the Nemo exhibit has plenty of things to do which also can be time consuming. Also, There is kidcot like you mentioned, there is also a whole area where you go in and meet some characters for pictures. Nice backgrounds. There is SO much to do int EPcot even for young ones. Also, going all around the world at the pavillions would be just great. Getting the stamps for their books, and we plan on getting a treat (candy) specific to each country for the kids. Something different to try. On top of this, there are TONS of performances along the way specific to the country. I highly recommend the celtic band near Canada :lmao: (Im biased since Im canadian and know the music all too well.) Also! lol You can get to the Boardwalk from the world pavillions (which btw I believe there are 2 different rides over near Mexico). Boardwalk would be great for a nice rich treat. They have a great bakery and restaurants. If I remember correctly, one of the restaurants offers wonderful ice cream sundaes. --again all what I have read...which is obviously way too much :rotfl: --
12 Dec -- AK with ADR at for Tusker House breakfast with Mickey and Friends :mickeyjum and trying to figure out how to get ADR for new T-REX in DTD -- any suggestions?
They aren't accepting reservations until the new year last I heard. It has even been mentioned of a wait of 2 hours at some times. That being said, if you have time to walk around DTD during that wait, it's not such a big deal.

13 Dec -- Drive back to Tampa Bay area and stay there 3 more days and fly home to CO on 16th

Just a side question--has anyone had any problems taking thier kids out of school for WDW for DL trips? My DD

Now, granted my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt...My kids aren't in school yet. But to me they are only kids once. Their education is VERY important don't get me wrong, but get some studies from the teacher. You can do them on down time (if you are flying, then on the plane). I have heard that teachers get annoyed with this, but again, they are only little once.

We changed our dates; Nov 29 to Dec 19
We will be MVMCP on Dec 4th. It is a honeymoon surprise for my new DH.

We are taking our first family Disney trip in December-staying at All Star Sports
Here's our plans so far:
S 12/14 check-in and head to HS
M 12/15 MK -lunch ADR at Crystal Palace
T 12/16 MK - dinner ADR for Aloha dinner show- I think I'm going to cancel this though-haven't heard too many good things
W 12/17 Epcot -dinner ADR at Akershus
Th 12/18 Epcot- lunch ADR at Coral Reef
F 12/19 check-out/ AK

My kids (6 and 3) don't know yet and we are planning on giving them an early Christmas gift on Thanksgiving (we usually put up the tree that day). I hope I can last that long! I'm about to burst!

50 days and counting!

We just wing it as far as which parks to do and when, the only park we do on a certain day is early entry to MK in and out by early afternoon! Still need to pick which date we are going to MVMCP :santa:

Our Plans:

Monday, December 1: Arrive at MCO at 11:45, take DME to ASMo, arrive at Epcot around 2ish and stay til closing

Tuesday, December 2: Rope drop at DHS, stay until 5ish, head to MK for MVMCP, and stay until midnight

Wednesday, December 3: rope drop at MK, head to DHS around 4 to catch fantasmic & osborne lights

Thursday, December 4: Rope drop at AK, stay until 1:30, back to hotel, check out and DME back to MCO

Hi- Going down Dec 13-21. Does anyone know what time it starts to get dark around then? Also, how long does Fantasmic last? Would we have time to see Fantasmic then walk around DHS to see the lights?
First time going down and I have questions that I am sure you veterans could answere!
Thanks

Good question about how dark it is!! Never thought of that....

My guess is it gets dark before 6pm because they do wishes at 6pm some nights.

Thanks for the great trip plans. I love reading them. My dh has no desire to "discuss" the plans. Frankly, he has no idea what goes into planning the trip. He just asks for the "bottom line" and then takes care of it so I don't complain much that he not interested in my planning talk. So thankfully I have you all.

Keep the trip plans coming!
