Zendaya was spinning and whacked him in the eye with her elbow. I think she also had sparklies on her sleeve, so one probably caught his eye and cut him as she whacked him.

Kellie and Derek... OMG!!!!!!!
Just amazing and incredible.

Derek is just so gifted, and this dance was sheer beauty, grace, talent, and genius.

Kellie finally pulled it out, and connected emotionally with the music, the dance, and the audience. WOW.

We all know that Zendaya CAN DANCE!!!!
But, I read a credible piece on YaHoo that confirmed that she is not the crowned winner yet... And, by some accounts, Kellie and Derek really do have a real lead.

BOTH women can really, really, dance!

But, those FreeStyles confirm it for me.

Jacoby's freestyle was just okay and so was Ally's. Zendaya's was very good but Kellie was truly outstanding. I think that freestyle may win it for her. It's going to very close between Kellie and Zendaya but I think it will finish with Zendaya winning, Kellie, Ally and Jacoby in 4th.

I really see no need for the instant dances, I wonder if they'll announce who is in 4th place first and only have the top 3 do the instant dance.

I think we know the judges choice by the ChaCha relay finish. I also think they over praised Ally's freestyle because otherwise the perfect score would have made no sense. I was glad that they all didn't do the full out production number that Jacoby did.

I voted for Zendaya because I like to see a different pro win it. Kellie and Zendaya have different styles but I think they are both great dancers.

I was just watching the group cha-cha. Kellie was sooo good. She was perfect and precise. Zendaya was ... natural. She was connected with Val and she was connected with the judges and she was connected with the audience.

BTW, I'm really loving Jacoby for the same reason. He is so real .

Oh ... I was all in on my cell phone for Little-Z. I was too late to vote more when I came home.

Kellie was amazing and I feel she is the best out of all of them. Zendaya was good also but Kellies dance really moved me. As PP said Aly and Marks dance was more about tricks than dancing and to me the routine seemed really short. I haven't really been crazy about any of their dances and don't know what the judges see that is so great. Jacoby has been good but there is no way he can win with this set of dancers. The faces he makes during all of his dances drive me crazy. I'll say it again Brookes outfit made her look like a poodle.

I like Aly, but feel that she was getting propped up by the judges last night. I don't think that her cha cha was better than Jacoby's. I really liked how Kellie and Derek worked with Karina and Jacoby to have a fun transition and that Jacoby and Karina did the same with Aly and Mark. I was disappointed when there wasn't a fun transition to Zendaya and Val.


I was bored during Karina and Jacoby's freestyle. I felt like the intro was just too long that I lost interest. Aly and Mark's freestyle was... interesting. I thought it was amusing that it was supposed to be "futuristic" because it reminded me of something from Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (the Sara Jessica Parker movie and not the song). I also felt like I was going to have a seizure with all of the flashing lights. Kellie and Derek's dance was absolutely beautiful. I wonder how different the scores would have been had they gone first. Len and Bruno said that they wished they could give elevens. Zendaya and Val did a great dance, but it wasn't as good as Kellie and Derek's. It was better than the other two, though, for sure.

I thought the buildup and hype for Jacoby's and Ali's freestyle didn't match what we got.

Karina was saying she didn't know how they would fit everyone on the dance floor. They had maybe 12 people with them. The dance floor has seen more than that. That green bikini top Karina was wearing did not flatter her.

With Ali I expected more than a few seconds on the poles. It must have taken a lot of work to get them up there and they were barely used. I thought it was unrealistic in the before show piece that Mark wouldn't know how high the poles would be on the dance floor.

I thought Derek and Kellie did really well but I prefer Zendalya and Val.

The percentages for each pair really tell the story. Kellie and Derek's score is 5x higher than Z&V and Aly & Mark and Jacoby is in the single digits.

Kellie and Derek's freestyle was so beautiful. He is incredibly talented and has a partner who can match him. I actually think the order above will be the way it is tonight. I have rooted about equally for Zendaya and Kellie all season but after last night, Kellie pushed herself to another level entirely.

On another note, did anyone notice the quick cut to her friend with cancer? She was in the audience and looked pretty good.

The advantage of Derek's choreography is that he knows how to tell a story. The story he told in Kelli's freestyle was stunningly beautiful. That being said, there was still something missing in it for me. I really can't put my finger on it, though. Kellie certainly showed more emotion than she had all season. OK ... just rewatched it. I didn't like the middle when he spun her around with her feet hooked around his head and then the next few moves/transitions. That whole section was gratuitous tricks and detracted from the dance.

That was the first time in all these years that I did not find Derek incredibly irritating! The dance was beautiful, and I have been a Zendaya fan all season.
Ally's dance WASN'T! There was really not very much dancing involved, just tricks.

Of course we are all entitled to our own opinions. I just don't see how exactly swinging Kellie around by her feet tucked in behind Derek's neck contributes to the beauty or the story of the dance. He said "it's all about the dance" but then he sticks in tricks like that one which I found disruptive to the story. I was enjoying the beautiful lines of the routine and then suddenly she's spinning like a jump rope followed by an awkward dismount. I also found her entrance into the nearly vertical pose to be awkward too (although the pose itself was AMAZING!).

Remember when Ally asked Mark if the judges have ever not liked a freestyle? I think she wasn't sure this was the right dance. To me it was more acrobatic than dance. I also think because she is short and muscular that she doesn't have the long lines of Kellie and Zendaya. She dances very well but she isn't as elegant to watch.

I think Zendaya did a great freestyle but because Kellie's told a story it had more impact. If Kellie wins it will be beacuse of her freestyle, if Zendaya wins it will be for her consistency all season.

Do they get more money if they win? I know the longer they are on the more they get but wonder if the top amount is just for making it to the finals.

My guess is whoever gets to do the freestyle encore will be the winner. It might be anticlimatic since people voted for the encore.

Yesterday, I was wondering why they got rid of the half point paddles they used during the All Star season. I think that having the .5 paddle would have made a big difference this season as Jacoby and Aly have received some tens when neither of them are anywhere near the same caliber as Kellie and Zendaya.

As for last night, I thought Zendaya was best in Round 1 and the Relay and Kellie had the best freestyle by far. Jacoby's freestyle was kind of a mess and Aly's was just weird. I thought Zendaya's was cute and Kellie's was fabulous. My votes went to Zendaya because I've enjoyed her dances the most overall throughout the season. I thought Bruno gave an excellent assessment when he said that she always shines through in the dance, no matter the style, you always see her. I love watching her dance. Usually I don't root for the person with previous dance training but she totally won me over.
