Official Dancing With the Stars, season 16 thread

I can't stand the way Sean sticks his butt out. Dude tuck it in.

As a person who has never danced a step of the jive in my life, I have to say that I REALLY preferred Jacoby's dance to Zendaya's. I was surprised it was a clean sweep. I figured Carrie Anne would vote for Zendaya, but I thought Bruno might pick Jacoby.

Have to say, that was kind of a miracle for Sean. Bruno was right on. He stuck hie butt out, but his arms and musicality were sooo much better.

Loved Kellie and Derek. Got a chuckle that 5'10"? Derek jumped over Kellie. Karina is shorter, I think.

As a person who has never danced a step of the jive in my life, I have to say that I REALLY preferred Jacoby's dance to Zendaya's. I was surprised it was a clean sweep. I figured Carrie Anne would vote for Zendaya, but I thought Bruno might pick Jacoby.
I don't dance either (my DD does) but I thought their comments were spot-on. Zendaya's dance was very technical while Jacoby's dance was very enthusiastic. I do admit that I am DONE with his jumping over Karina. The first time was cool, the second time was OK and now it's just OLD. He also looked pretty spent when he went for the jump and I was afraid he wasn't going to make it.

So, I watched the rest of the show last night. Did everyone see Mark's "drop crotch" pants in the segment when he got hurt? UGLY! FTR, I'm glad he seems to be OK. I don't want to see anyone on the show get hurt. Least of all a pro who makes their money from their body.

Bottom 3

Ingo
Sean
Andy

I would say Andy should go home but who knows lol

I think the only thing that might save Andy this week is Carrie Ann giving him a five, had Zendaya been safe I would have voted for Andy. I don't think he is the best dancer and I think the judges want him to go home so Bruno was nasty and Carrie Ann was just insulting him with that five.

We've had seasons when better dancers have gone home because a fan favorite or a Bristol kept winning. I don't think that has happened this season. I don't think anyone that has left was better than Andy, well maybe Dorothy but she withdrew, and Sean may be pretty but he is not a dancer. At least Andy is entertaining!

I really think the big question is will Ally or Jacoby be in the final three with Zendaya & Kellie.

I also thought the dance off was stupid. Already like Val but his picking Jacoby made me like him even more, also thought when he said pick someone their own size it was kinda of a knock against Mark. In the long run is 3 points going to really make a difference in the voting?

Wow, this is a surprise, Sean in first? Really?? I realize that Kellie and Derek not needing votes changed things a bit but Sean???? As expected the bottom is Andy, whom I expect to go home, Ingo and Jacoby. It will be interesting to see how the other ways to vote change the order. Is Ingo's demographic older and thus less likely to use texting/facebook? Will the NFL connection help Jacoby? I agree with the PP about his jumping, it was cool at first now it is just old. I did love how, after the challenge dance, Val was copying Jacoby's moves and they were doing them together on the way to talk to Tom.

Sean & Peta

Alexandra & Mark

Zendaya & Val

Kellie & Derek

Jacoby & Karina

Ingo & Kym

Andy & Sharna

Was it just me or was Carrie Ann even more bizarre than usual last night?

Her scoring & some her comments made no sense most of the time. And she seems to really not like Kellie for whatever reason - I think she thinks Kellie's not taking it seriously enough or something maybe?

Other randomness...

I'm really, really liking Val! Maks will always be my favorite, but Val's quickly earning a place in my heart! He seems to have a really good work ethic too. When Brooke asked him if he was being "intense" like Zendaya claimed, I liked his answer - that he'd been taught, no matter what you do whether it's taking out the trash or dancing a Paso, you give it your best.

Plus, I adore how he's dancing w/ Zendaya - I think he's doing age appropriate dances for her, but the dances are still exciting & current. I really enjoyed their Paso last night.

I wish Kellie & Derek had danced a Rumba.

Most of the time, tattoos don't bother me, & I really like a well-placed tattoo on a guy. However, Mark's tattoos just get on my nerves... it's like he's trying to prove something. "Look at me. I'm hot." Or not... :rolleyes1 I do hope his back is okay though.

Jacoby's jumping over Karina is getting old. Find a new trick.

I still like Ingo. But what's up w/ his hat?

I also thought Sean did better last night. I don't watch "The Bachelor," so I wasn't familiar w/ Sean until DWTS. And I think Sean has a fun personality.

I'm still worried about Andy. He's too earnest & is trying too hard- I'm worried for his mental & emotional state.

Regarding the dance-off's, I don't think it really mattered how they danced, I think the judges scored/rated them based on how they hope the dancers place. In their minds, Ally is better than Andy, Zendaya is better than Jacoby, & Ingo is better than Sean - which is probably all true to an extent, but I think the dance-off was really just designed to give the ones the judges think are better a little push on their scores, if that makes sense.

And I agree w/ whoever said it was nice how Val chose Jacoby & Karina - a pretty close pairing, which left Sean & Ingo dancing against each other, another close pairing.

And Brooke seemed even more wooden/robotic last night than usual, even distracted. And Tom didn't have as many great one-liners... I don't know. Did the pacing of the show seem "off" to anyone else?

I like Carrie Ann ok but she was a little rude all around last night. There were a couple of shots we probably should not have seen where she was passing off the paperwork to a producer/intern/runner and they were right there and she was snapping at them. She also was harsh in her comments and in not a constructive way for the most part.

Every time they say Peta's name, I can't help but think of this guy:

"Heavens to murgatroid!"

My bottom three would be Andy, Sean and Ingo. I think this probably is the week that Andy should and likely will go home, but I would not be sad if Sean went home and Andy stuck around another week.

Every week, I find myself scratching my head over the judge's scores for Sean. He alway seems to be just pushing Peta all over the floor but not really dancing. I think that Sean and Ingo are probably at the same level dance talent wise, but I just like Ingo better. :rotfl: Also, was it necessary to bring Catherine in to bring out the love? Goodness. Enough ABC, they are in love, we get it, no need to beat us over the heads with it. Other contestants also have significant others but they aren't getting dragged in to do the rumba.

I was not a fan of Aly and Mark's dance but choosing Andy to go head to head against ensured that they won't get my votes. If they wanted an easier route but still a bit of a challenge, they could have picked Ingo or Sean and still easily won. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. I really appreciated that Val opted to pick on someone their own size and make it a real battle, rather than take the easy way out.

Although I am sure part of it is to get us excited for the summer wedding being broadcast just off the top of my head I am thinking that we have seen Ingo and his wife's love story and his little boy (and his cute "see you at the after party!"), Andy and his daughter's story, Kelly and her husband's elopement/love story/love song story so it's not out of the ordinary to have Catherine show up.

I'm not a soap opera viewer but Ingo seemed like such a genuinely nice guy I really wanted to like him. Unfortunately, I find myself liking Sean better. Including last night's dance off. Ingo did better than his original dance, but I still think that Sean was smoother and danced more gracefully.

FTR, kudos are go out to Jacoby for selecting the jive over the rumba. Z & V will have to face it eventually but I would much rather see them tackle it as a primary dance.

Zendaya was terribly underscored, omg her dance was so perfect. Sean was way overscored; he cannot go home fast enough. He is just horrendous and should have gotten the same score as Andy or at least close to it. Andy may not be the best dancer at least he is endearing and fun to watch.

Is anyone else having trouble with their ABC station today. It is totally messed up and of course it started during General Hospital this afternoon. With my luck it is just our cable company having the difficulties.

I haven't had any trouble with ABC today.

Careful. Some "TVexpert" will come on the thread to tell you that you just think you are having station problems and that it is an impossibility. That you are the only one seeing it - even if other people verify it's not only you. :rolleyes1 Hope you weren't having the problems while watching Jeopardy. ;)

Wow! The opening dance was great! I loved Whitney on SYTYCD, but seeing her in her element on DWTS has been a real treat. She's such a spitfire! ::yes::

They have shown Andy daughter and Kellie hubby sang as they danced. So it not really out of the normal for the show
