Has this been announced yet? Besides the construction, hoping we'll get to go there on our 1st visit in June. I find it hard to believe that neither Disney or Rainforest knows the date yet.

I would love to know as well. Still hoping it doesn't close or finds a new location. I am not looking forward to telling my daughter that one of our favorite restaurant has closed.

Disney sent me this helpful message:

Hi! We have nothing to announce at this time. For all things Disneyland Resort related, please keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog. http://di.sn/6183DrIZU

They obviously know. I don't get why they don't just tell us.
Maybe they do, maybe not so much. They are notorious for bad estimates on dates to start & finish projects...

I took my girls to RFC in January. We like to go and have always enjoyed it, but man, it was TERRIBLE this time. The choices weren't great, the food was awful across the board, and the service was pretty bad as well. I don't know if it's related to the upcoming closure, but it was NOT in any way like previous visits and was a waste of money.

I wonder what happened exactly? A fluke? Or something else?

I was there in Jan. and it was the same as always. Was there in Dec too.
Waiter told us that RFC is fighting the closure, as they have a lease.

I'm glad to hear that our visit didn't reflect a change in quality. I don't know what happened when we went, but it made me think I'd probably not go back.

When we were there in December for Christmas I didn't realize they were closing...food was fantastic (we went at least 4 times) and on our last day we went for breakfast before heading to the airport. It was not busy and we got to talking to our server and I mentioned about how we loved RFC and always visited when we came to Disneyland. That was when she said they wouldn't be there after June...she told us that management had told them that they would be closed by the end of June. She said no one was happy about it.

On the one hand I can't imagine Disney was dumb enough to not include a clause in the lease that allows them to do this. On the other hand, depending on how desperate Disney was at the time the lease was signed I guess it's possible. If that's the case wouldn't they just be fighting over how many commas the check will have that Disney will have to write to Landry's for the closure...

Edit: yes. Yes they could have been that dumb. These are the same people who did the eastern gateway fiasco last year...

Guess we see.....above poster mentioned it not being there after June.

Having been to the RFC numerous times over the years and only having ONE experience that could be classified as good, I say "SEE YA" to the RFC. Happy to see it go. Bad food not cooked all the way through, dirty tables, and rude/horrible staff. I will not miss it. :wave2:

Slightly tempted to go one more time before closing. The one here in S.F. closed abruptly, my daughter always bugged us to go. We've been a total of three time, two up here and once in Anaheim. One bad experience but the other two have always been "meh", basically unimpressive. The food int's totally bad, just way overpriced for what you get. Would rather eat in the parks.

I have never been to the RFC at Disneyland. We have one here is SF which closed down also I think. I would much rather use the money towards a character meal if i have kids going or a nice family dinner elsewhere. I do not know about the one there but the one here is ok as a one time thing but the food is not worth the price and it would be great if each time you were seated in the best spot but not every spot is that good.

Im ready to see something new.

We went to the one in DLR once and it was horrible. We have done breakfast at the one in Animal Kingdom and lunch at the one in DtD at WDW and have always had a good experience. I am interested in when RFC closes to give me an indicator when EoS will close.

We now usually go just for dessert and have the Sparkling Volcano. Just checked and the one in our state has closed.

Its always been just ok for us. Nothing terrible but with all the good choices in DTD we were never worried if we didn't make it there in a trip. I did notice the last time that the menu is way smaller than it used to be.

The food was fine when me and my family went there.
Hopefully you will have much better luck next time, if you should decide to dine there again. :)

We were wanting to know the closing date as well as my cousin would like to go before it closes.
