*** Official CHRISTMAS WEEK planning thread***

I just started a nursing program which put the kabosh on our big Disney trip plans for Jan. 2014. So I got the crazy idea to go the week of christmas. Count us in! Hoping for 12/24-12/31. Anxiously awaiting CP packages. So, you just call Disney to see if there's free dining available to you?

Yes just call Disney and ask if there is a pin code for your name and anyone who is going with you's name.

Just booked our trip to Disney Dec 22-Dec 30th at the Polynesian. It will be our 4th Christmas visit! Can't wait to plan!!! Just found the fbook group and put in a request as well!

Hello everyone, I am new to DIS and have sent a request on FB.

We are going to be there Dec 22 to Jan 4. This will be our first trip to Disney. I know it's crazy to make our first trip at Christmas time, but it's the only time DH can go. We are staying at the CBR. My DD's are very excited, they will be 9 and 7 when we go.

We booked CRT for New Years Eve Lunch, and are surprising the girls on Christmas Day at BBB.

I am one step closer to being all set up for my trip Dec. 19th- 27th. My DBFF got our room at AS Sports for the 19th and then we will transfer over to the FW campground on the 20th when our reservation with my parents starts.

The only thing left is to get our MVMCP tickets (I will be getting in August) and our PP+ (which this can wait until Sept). The only reason I am waiting for the PP+ is because I have two different sets of hockey tickets I have to pay off by the time Sept rolls around.

I m so excited to be going to Disney during Christmas time. We will be there from Dec 22-Jan 2. This will be our 2nd trip there and I know it will be a good one.

Anyone else get their DME tags in the mail already for a Christmas week visit. We got our last week, seemed kind of early.

We have just changed our plans from fall break to Christmas week! We have been to WDW about 8 times in the past 6 years, one of which was Christmas week 2009. We are so excited! We will be at WL Dec. 21-29. Made most of my ADR, got a CP package for Christmas Eve (wanted Tutto Italia but will settle for Rose and Crown). Have sleigh ride planned for Fort Wilderness. Really want to get a Wishes dessert party ressie when they open up, that is the only condition my husband put on this trip, he wants the dessert party! We are hoping for weather good enough to spend a bit of time by the pool a few afternoons so fingers crossed for that. I have been before, I know just how crazy this week is, we had a great time the last time and I am counting on big fun again!:cool1:

We just booked our Christmas Disney World trip we will be staying at POP December 22nd-28th.

Wow.. that is REALLY early. I have never gotten them that early in 8 or 9 trips!

Anyway.. this thread needs a bump:)
Right now we are booked from the 13th to the 21st at Disney but we aren't coming home until the 23rd. I was thinking we would go offsite for the last two nights. I booked the 22nd at the Airport Hilton so we'd be nice and close for our early morning flight on the 23rd. This still leaves the question of the 22nd. It's the day the crowds will really get thick. I have two options.
A) Book another night at Wilderness Lodge and spend Saturday and Sunday at Disney anyway
B) check out Saturday morning and go over to the Gaylord Palms and stay the night and see I.C.E.

Both options would cost the same really (around $400). I'd like to see I.C.E but I don't know that there is enough to entertain us at The Gaylord Palms for the whole weekend. I read reviews that the display really only takes an hour at most. We could stay at Disney another night, have all day Saturday and just brave the crowds and maybe go and check out I.C.E. on Sunday afternoon before we check in to the Airport Hilton?

Any thoughts?

I'm in the FB group. We're at CBR December 21-28. We have our airfare and I am pretty happy with the price we paid considering the week. Our arrival flight leaves at 7 am so we should be to CBR by 10:30 or so. We have a 7:30 departing flight...the latest we have ever left Disney:) I am still is shock that a: we are going for the 2nd year in a row and b: we got FREE DINING!!!!!! Last Christmas was my best trip ever to Disney and by far our best family Christmas:) We have more adr's than we need for Christmas Day. I am not sure what we'll do..I promise to cancel the extras as soon as we know for sure:) I think the plan we will stick with is Ohana for breakfast at 10:30 and dinner at WCC at 4:30. We plan to tour the resorts and take in the decorations at GF and the MK area. We will not do a park that day. We have CP on Christmas Eve for lunch and the first show. I was hoping for the middle show. We may also cancel this since we did it last year. I need to focus on seeing the Santas in WS this time. It will be our last Christmas trip for years to come so I want to see what we missed last year. I look forward to planning and sharing with you:santa:

We got to swim several times Christmas Week 2012. We even made it to BB on Dec 27. The park was nearly empty! I am hoping for similar weather this time. I was comfortable in light pants and t during the day (sometimes I layered a long sleeve underneath but pushed them up) and a light jacket at night.

We'll be in Disneyworld as well, Christmas Day to December 31. I'm not quite brave enough to face the NYE crowds but I'm so excited to be at Disney during the holidays. We've been during spring break and in July so I think we just need some planning and we'll be fine. It's a surprise for my granddaughter and I can't wait to see her face when she finds out. :yay:

just be prepared for crowds that larger than you have ever encountered .There's a reason why people say that week is the busiest of the year. That's because IT IS.be prepared for long lines for all attractions, table service restaurants, and rest rooms.also be aware capacity closures are possible EVERYDAY at mk and hs and ak may also close on one or two days.also be aware that the hours will change sometime in mid. nov. so double check the hours around thanksgiving.if you have not decided which parks you are doing each day use easywdw. It is free,it gives daily analysis for each park everyday, and IT IS THE MOST ACCURATE out of all the crowd calander sites.

:santa:Hi all, been a long time since I have been on board. We are going to Kissimmee Sunday Dec.22-Sunday Dec.29. I told my husband I did not want to be home for Christmas this year. We lost his father suddenly in October last year and his Mom after a battle with ovarian ca. We are down to just my hubby, myself and dd who just turned 7. I always wanted to go to Disney for Christmas but never wanted to be away from home. We are staying off property and so will have to drive and park when we go to Disney. I also asked to join the facebook group. I am excited but also know that we will be missing the family that are in heaven. Thanks for all the information and tips provided.
