Marzipan?? Wow, I've never heard of a cake with that on it before. Usually the Mickey cakes have ganche or frosting pipping on it.

I'd call back and ask again and ask for ganach or frosting.

I called back and ordered the Mickey cake. Spoke to a different CM and was told fondant or ganache. It would be the chef's choice. She said the cakes are not made at the MK but would be made on property so she really doesn't have much input with the chefs. I think this will be fine.

One more thing, should I have been given a confirmation#. It wasn't offered and I forgot to ask.

Thanks for all your help.

Well, that sounds better. :)

No, they do not give a confirmation number. If you still have a lot of time before your ADR for this cake, I would call again right before to confirm the order. Then again at the podium if you can. Enjoy!

Can't wait to see them! We are thinking about going that week next year. Looking forward to hearing a crowd report when you get back too!

I know this doesnt belong on this thread but we always go this time of year and normally it is a good week to go. However, this is the first time they have offered free dining during this week so I will let you know! Never been during free dining.:confused3

I finially got a call back from the chef at WL.:woohoo: We are having my ds 5th b-day it WCC in January and were wanting a cake for him. The chef said that since the cake would be coming from the CR, that we could really do anything our heart desires (within reason of course):rotfl: So here is what we ordered.

a 10 inch chocolate cake with chocolate mouse filling. Yellow frosting with a painted mickey mouse statue on top. Primary colored accent decorations in a mickey mouse Clubhouse theme. Cost: $100. I look forward to seeing what they come up with.

I am very happy that we are able to do something other than the cakes with flowers. Why would a 5 year old boy want flowers on his birthday cake?

Now just waiting for Pat to call me back re: dd's bday cake.

I just ordered our cake for our 1 year anniversary on January 5th. We were married at Disney and will be having our dinner at the same place we had our little reception. We did not have a cake at disney but did have one at our at home reception. I called and was able to get the 6 inch vanilla with white frosting. I requested to have it made as a replica of the top tier of our wedding cake.

We are not having the calla lilies on it this time but I did ask them to put all 3 designs on the cake. We had Mickey heads, hearts and swirls. They will also be putting the marine blue ribbon around the bottom. I asked if they could put our cake topper on it but are unable to have outside items due to food regulations. So instead I ordered a white chocolate castle on top. They quited me $65 for the cake. DH doesnt know so I am hoping to surprise him. I wanted it custom but couldnt imagine having to buy a 10 in cake and having cake ALL week...blek dont get me wrong I love cake...but I just know that I would force both of us to eat it all...lol

Where did you get that topper if I may ask? I love that. Did it come with the light or is that something you had added on? Gorgeous!

Does anyone know if i can get a cake delivered to my room at SSR? We are staying there in Dec for our wedding anniversary and i would love to get a replica of the top tier of our wedding cake?

Is there an email address i can use? Its difficult to phone as im trying to do this as a surprise and any time i seem to be alone the time difference makes it hard to call.

Hi! I have been a longtime lurker. And just wanted to say how great all this informaton is and how wonderful u guys are. Just wanted to ask a question does anyone know what flavors or fillings the CR has? TIA

does anyone know if they will deliver a cake to Fulton's Crab House in Downtown disney?

Where is the Boardwalk Bakery in comparison to Fulton's?

Does anyone have any tinkerbell cakes I can see? We are going in Feb and my sister's bday is the last night we are there :) I want to order her a Tinkerbell cake.

thanks

Okay so I called the Boardwalk Bakery a few days ago with a few questions and I got a ridiculious answer to one of them! I was just curious as to why they only take orders 48 hours in advance (although the lady said I could call a week in advance) and she said because they can lose the paperwork.

Does anyone else find that to be a completly ridiculious answer? Haven't they ever heard of filing stuff on a computer? Or hey! using a file cabinet?

I am also curious about delivering to SSR? Also what is the smallest size 2 tier cake they will customize and roughly what does it cost? I would like to order a cake when DH and I are there in Dec The problem is he loves chocolate and I hate chocolate so I was looking into a 2 tiers (a flavor we each like). This trip is a belated honeymoon as we never got to have one when we got married nor did we have cake/reception. TIA

I just got off the phone with a very pleasant but hard to understand lady at AKL and ordered a birthday cake for early December. I know that I'm getting a 10" vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling (no alcohol) and chocolate buttercream icing. It will say "Happy Birthday" but I'm not sure she and I were clear as to the customization of it. :) I told her I would like to leave it up to the creativity of the wonderful bakery theme but would like it Animal Kingdom Lodgey and/or Lion Kingish. So I'm not sure what that will be. She told me that she'd have the chef call me back so I am hoping that it can be a little more clear as to what the cake will look like.

I figured I'd totally lose her if I said that I wanted a light saber toting Tinkerbell hunting Simba. But that type of decoration would incorporate two of my WDW loves with my love of Star Wars. :tinker: :darth:

We're going to Cali Grill for my daughter's second birthday in January. (YAAAAAAAY!!) Anywho- I called the cake hotline and the lady said they have the white cakes with some sort of graphic on them. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a list of the options they offer or even pictures? Thanks for any info!

Clueless here - help would be appreciated!

Want to order a cake for a birthday dinner for my twins at 1900 Park Fare.
Only 6 of us... so don't want anything too big (though we are big cake eaters!)

Was thinking of 6" or 8". Will they do that size custom? Does that size give us a sarah lee cake instead?

Can I used TiW on this?

We'd like to spend around $50 ($60 absolute max).
We want buttercream - filling, icing, so pretty simple in that regard.
Main thing is we obviously want it decorated beautifully!

Not sure yet theme or character. Twins love Pluto if we did a character....otherwise not sure... something whimsical for 7 year old boy/girl twins.

check out the cake chatter thread. I'm also considering a cake. The thread can be overwhelming at first (190 pages), but it's full of pictures and info!! :lovestruc

You can customize a 6" but it will probably be $45-$60 depending on the decorations. You will have to call GF and you will probably talk to Pat. Your best bet is to just call and see what ideas she has.

As far as TiW I have no clue. Maybe someone else can answer that?
