Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

I second the photos only thread. So who's going to start it? I don't have any pictures yet but I plan on it by the end of next month.

I'm a bit confused. I just went to get Citricos' phone number from the first page of this thread to order a cake or other special dessert for my daughter's 5th birthday in May, and Citricos isn't listed, yet other GF restaurants are?

Do I just call GF bakery, or, do I do something different for Citricos?

My daughter doesn't like cake either - LOL! I just posted above as I want to call Citricos as that is where we are having her dinner, but I don't see a direct number for Citricos. I want to see if they can prepare a special ice cream or chocolate dessert for her. She loves milk chocolate, but the castle cake & slipper desserts are in white chocolate, and she hates white chocolate!

I'll post as to whether I am able to get a different dessert prepared, if and when I get some help as to whom I should speak with for dining at Citricos.

Has never been a fan of cake.
She's 11 and this is her first visit to WDW, so I was thinking of celebrating her UN-birthday!
Her real birthday is in October and we celebrate with pumpkin pie (she loved pumpkin pie)!!

This is my DD's cake. We ordered through Linda at the GF bakery. We dined in Chef's Domain at Citrico's, her birthday is on Valentines Day so we asked for a Valentines/Minnie Mouse theme. It was a ten inch marble cake with chocolate filling and cost $80.

This is a white chocolate deluxe TinkerBell with strawberries - $45 at the California Grill that we got for our MIL & FIL's 30th Aniversary.

bubblefactory - That cake is absolutely gorgeous (your daughter is cute too)!! As I mentioned, my daughter doesn't like cake, and she is allergic to berries, so none of that for us. We are also on the deluxe dining plan, and the kids will receive their traditional gift baskets from Disney Florist with treats in them, so no big cake is necessary for us as most of it would go to waste.

I so was hoping someone would have been able to answer my request for specific info for Citricos, but I see from your post that you called the GF bakery, so I guess I'll just do that. I really wanted to speak to the Citricos chef personally as I don't think the GF bakery is going to be able to help me with asking about an ice cream dessert.

Hi everyone,
I saw a few posts about organizing this a little better.

What was done for the food thread (AKA food porn) was a poster has created a thread that has links to all the pictures. Sounds like that may work for the cake thread too.

If a separate picture thread is started, it will end up just like this one in no time

Also, there is a new board policy about long threads,. We are now restricting long threads to 250 pages, then locking and starting a new one with a link back to the original one. We just did that with the food porn thread. Kellie just redid it as it outgrew its old home.

Organizing the links was a huge job and maintaining it takes work. The same poster has to do it, since only they or a mod can edit a post.

Please PM your ideas to either myself or another mod for discussion.
