I don't think there's any cake in it, but maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not saying you shouldn't order it, just wanted to be sure you knew it wasn't cake. :goodvibes

Well, the CRT version of the chocolate slipper sits on a small square of sponge or angel food cake surrounded by berries. The cake is barely worth mentioning but it is there. :)

The CRT version is on a thin bed of spongecake...surrounded by berries and a berry sauce!

Just bumping this up because I'm curious about the birthday cakes too. Anyone have the number for the disney bakery? Or pictures of the cakes? This is my first foray into any kind of birthday cake planning, so tips would be great!

All of the phone #s are listed on the first page of this thread for the bakeries (there are more than one) and you just have to go through the thread for pictures.

My husband called the GF bakery the other day to get a cake with the white chocolate castle on it (the large one) they quoted him $145.00. So I told him just surprise me by ordering the mini castle cake for me, LOL

this is the one I wanted:

Yeah, the white chocolate castle cake topper alone costs $100.... :sad2:

Im new to the cake thread and have a question... Can I have a cake delivered to the desk at SSR since we are arriving on DS birthday in February? If not, how can I get a cake for Prime Time the next evening.

Thanks

I was there this past September celebrating my sons 3rd birthday and we had a 6 inch chocolate cake with chocolate frosting delivered to the room. The cake was very moist and the frosting was really good too! We are going in January and I plan on ordering another one but this time for my husbands birthday.

Thanks, ethansmommy!

PLease forgive me if i am asking things that are obvious, this is a long thread :rotfl: i have looked and found lots of great tips.

Just a couple of quick questions.

Do they serve the b'day cupcake in every restaurant and is it extra?
Is the slipper dessert only in CRT?

We will be celebrating my DD's b'day when we are there, she wants Chef Mickey's for breakfast so i was thinking the cupcake there and then get a cake brought to wherever we are eating dinner, the other thing is we are a party of 17 and we will all want a slice of cake :rotfl: any idea what the best one size wise would be? I was thinking of getting something HM or HSM maybe on it??????

Ok i said a couple of quick questions maybe i stretched it a bit  but TIA for any help on those questions

The chocolate slipper is only available at GF restaurants and CRT. They are served a bit different at each (GF has a chocolate boat and CRT has angle food cake and berries) and are also different prices. It is more expensive at GF.

There are no guarantees on a free dessert for your birthday anywhere so you can hope for it but don't count on it. Consider it a nice surprise if you get one. :)

I'm pretty sure you can only get the mini castle cake at GF restaurants. There are photos floating around. I'll see if I can find one.

I'm not positive that the GF is the only place to get it... hold out hope until someone else comes along and confirms that. ;)

OK will do thanks very much again, i just want it to be the most perfect b'day ever :) as it's her 11th and definitely the only time we'll be in WDW for her b'day

we got the slipper at CRT and the mini castle cake @ GF 11/08

castle cake was cute but expensive. I thought I had asked for white cake but I got cheesecake which dd wouldn't eat...so waste of $30+ IMHO. $12.50+tax for slipper and cuter....and tastier. only available at GF (Park Fare I think). I would pay for the slipper cake again at GF even if it cost more...

We will have a chocolate egg-free cake tomorrow night for our first dinner at WDW. I'll let you know how it is when we get back.

I have seen pics of cakes throughout first thread of various princesses on top of what looks like 8" cakes. They have the sparkly "castle" like backdrop andthey are standing up onthe cake not lying down. I am trying to figure out how much those cakes cost. I can't seem to figure out using the price list at the start of the thread. If anyone can help I would REALLY appreciate it. I told my DH one of the cakes had my daughters name all over it (it was for a Meredith which is my daughters name:)) except instead of Ariel we need Aurora. She is going to be celebrating her 6th bday at a CRT lunch. Also celebrating DD Nattie's 5th at Epcot princess buffet breakfast...any suggestions for something special for her? I hate to think she is going to have cake for breakfast AND have $75 free spending money..ok $75 minus cost of special mickey ears. OH and if anyone has a suggestions for a very merry UNBIRTHDAY for my other daughter I would REALLY appreciate that. we are trying to stay on budget but I feel bad not doing something for her as well...and after all it is her unbirthday!!!:ccat:
