Going to try to share a picture of the cake we got at CRT. It was chocolate, with chocolate filling. Very tasty - very BIG. It cost $75 for the cake (cake + the topper) and then an 18% gratuity for them to bring it to the table. But it was our twins 5th birthday - so we went for it. Cake was bigger than we could imagine, and more than we could eat though.

Is that a 10" cake?

Very nice!

Yes, it is the 10 inch cake. They (CRT) told me it was the smallest size that you could get personalized. It really was a beautiful cake.

I need help!!! Need to choose a place to order a Star Wars theme birthday cake and don't know which dinner would produce the best cake.

We are eating at Narcoosee's, Le Cellier, Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Artist Point, and Rose and Crown for sure. Does anyone have a reccommendation concerning the best bakery/chefs servicing these restaurants?

Oh, we are staying at CBR (I don't know if they deliever one to the room or not)....

Look at post #191 on this thread. I think they got that star wars cake from Oliva at OKW. Good luck!

ds's cake from this evening at the brown derby. it was all chocolate 6" cake. costs $22. fine for us and perfect for the 3 of us to enjoy back at our resort.. I just ordered my cake for Chef Mickeys for this friday! I was surprised when I called and they actually answered the phone! I ordered the Mickey head cake! It is a cruise kickoff surprise for my our cruise after WDW! We leave tomorrow morning! YEAH :woohoo: !! I will be sure to take a pic of the cake and post it when I get back!

I want to order a cake to be served during an upcoming adr. We will be celebrating dh and ds6 Birthday. Here is the problem. Dh loves Chocolate and ds loves Vanilla.

I was going to order one of each. Which one is yummier and less sweet. The chocolate/vanilla buttercream filling or the chocolate/vanilla icing filling?

Is the Mickey cake better tasting or is it just more expensive because it is Mickey?

Thanks for your opinions:santa:

We got a cake last Nov. for my sons 10th bd and had it waiting for us at Kona Cafe for dessert. We ordered the Mickey cake/choc with choc icing. Honestly-we found the cake to be dry and not worth the price we paid for it. Decorations were very cute. Hopefully, they were just having a bad night/day with the cakes. We ordered ours through the Disney bakery. Good luck! I hope the cake and the birthday celebration are great!:thumbsup2

Just bumping this up because I'm curious about the birthday cakes too. Anyone have the number for the disney bakery? Or pictures of the cakes? This is my first foray into any kind of birthday cake planning, so tips would be great!

on the phone right now, ordering my mini castle cake for our dinner at narcoosees next week - girl i'm speaking to isn't sure about much (eg. what the cake flavors are exactly, the cost) and wants to call me back later....

whatever.

i'll just wait a couple of hours and call back myself - hopefully, i'll get someone else on the phone who is more familiar with the mini castle cake ordering procedure.

How are the cakes at WL lately? Anyone ordered one recently?

Thinking of ordering one for just my DS and myself - as a celebration of his 5-year milestone (he has a chronic, often fatal illness) - but I'd rather have a cake in our room to nosh on ... can't justify a 10 inch as much as I'd prefer it, LOL, so it would be one of the smaller ones ... how are they?

We had an 8 inch chocolate/chocolate from Boardwalk Bakery while staying at the BC in September and it was not good ... the icing was oddly waxy and thin plus the cake was dry. We threw it away after one piece.

Anyway, any recent WL reports?

When we went in August for my bday my bf got a cake for me at Yak & Yeti. It was last minute so he couldnt get anything fancy. It ended up being a cute (the smallest size for just the 2 of us) vanilla cake with vanilla icing. It had confetti sprinkles all over and was very nice. :) It was delicious, we ended up having extra and saving it for breakfast the next day lol.

I was there this past September celebrating my sons 3rd birthday and we had a 6 inch chocolate cake with chocolate frosting delivered to the room. The cake was very moist and the frosting was really good too! We are going in January and I plan on ordering another one but this time for my husbands birthday.

Is the Slipper cake at CRT any good? Has anyone had it before. I called the hotline, and was told it was filled with dark Chocolate Mousse. Just not sure if my dd who is going to be 5 will like this filling.

My dd loved hers on her 7th birthday. She had hers for breakfast! :thumbsup2

She was all over the chocolate mousse and it didn't phase her in the least that the chocolate was dark!

I highly recommend it...very yummy!

I don't think there's any cake in it, but maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not saying you shouldn't order it, just wanted to be sure you knew it wasn't cake. :goodvibes
