We're all getting so close.......anjalee is really close!

Question of the Day.....Other then packing, laundry...what are some last minute things you need to do, or purchases you haven't made yet?

Manicure and pedicure this afternoon.
Pack the car with our stuff.
Get cash.
Pack my hipster. (Need to transfer what I need from my purse)

Cheap Bucket Hats
$1 disposable poncho's (half dozen)
BPA free water bottles light weight from Dicks
Travel coloring books and crayons (found those new princess themed small packs at target, so fun!
light weight pull tie bag for husband

Todo:
Dollar store glow bracelets
Buy snacks for suitcase
New bottles of suntan lotion
Extra hair-ties to pack for kids hair

Well, we leave 3 weeks from today, so plenty of time. Here's our list: 1. Find rides to/from airport (this is the biggest one; we don't want to pay for 11 days of airport parking and were planning on MIL or FIL who now seem to be unavailable) 2. Get quarters for laundry and fives for tips 3. Finalize those ADRs! Thought we had them set, then spent at least an hour yesterday moving things around and aren't completely happy (but pretty happy!) 4. Also haircuts--the only time I could find for mine was the day before we leave--hope it doesn't make me crazy to be getting highlights for 2 hours when I could be packing I'm sure I'll think of more as I read your wonderful lists. For those leaving in 2-3 days, have a GREAT vacation and tell us all about it!

Your rides to the airport try globalairportparking.com very cheap parking rates! We are parking 2 miles from Philly airport for 9 days and it only cost $50. You park at a close by hotel then take the shuttle to the airport.

- Final charge for all the electronics that will need to be used next Monday on the plane/in the airport/on the road

- Final cleaning of the apartment

- Drop the cat off with Jem's mum (being done today as we'll be going to a hotel tonight for a few days so we'll just leave here there until we come home)

- get cash for tips


I feel like there's more but I honestly can't remember! I know we have a list we have to tape up to the back of the door so we make sure we don't forget the things we need to use that evening or morning just before we leave

ds1 haircut (appointment made) other 4 kids I buzz cut
pack everything (this won't begin until 2 days before)
find ponchos from 2012 or buy
get all toiletry items

Same here. We arrive home late Monday night and the kids start school first thing Tuesday morning. I've bought them new backpacks, lunch bags, supplies etc.... Except there will be nothing fresh to put in their lunch bags on the first day. Oh well....no mother of the year award for me!

We still have 30 days but our trip will be here before I know it! So I better get moving on this list:

DH needs new shorts/tanks
ODS needs more shorts
Get all school supplies/clothes as kids go back 2 days after we return
get DH to FINALLY either rent a car or call to get us on ME!!!
boys' haircuts right before we go
my pedi right before we go
stock up on cat food for my cat that's staying here-friend coming to check on
bring food/litter/toys to my mom for cat that she's keeping while we're away (unfortunately they fight too much when home alone for long periods)
order matching Halloween shirts for MNSSHP

That's all I can think of besides buying little things like snacks/breakfast foods to pack for the room and some travel size sunscreen to take to the parks. Guess I better get on it!

Exactly! I have a school committee meeting at 6:30 the night we get home. But at least this year, we get in at 2, so I should be home by 3ish. Last year, we went to San Diego, and I literally dropped the family off and went to the school committee meeting and was late by 5 minutes. I don't even think the van stopped completely, I rolled in and rolled out.

Still trying to alter times for two ADR's- Chef Mickeys 6:45- trying for 5pm on the 19th and Sci-fi 11:00-trying for 12pm. Had to change these ADR's because our trip changed and I had to book ADR's late for this day. I was lucky even to get these times I guess.

Woohoo! Thanks! Tomorrow at this time, we will be at DTD if all goes as planned. All the kids want to do is go swimming, though. Told them we will have plenty of time to do that.

Car rental prices for August 2014 have not followed the same pattern as they have in the two previous years. Rates are MUCH higher and we haven't seen the sharp decline in price at the 4-6 week mark as we have for our August 2012 and 2013 trips.

Our best rate so far was secured way back in early April. We have a midsize SUV with National for $233 a week, taxes included ($466 total for two weeks). SUV rentals for the same time period, if booked now, are anywhere from $700-1200.

Did you try dollar.com? I just checked last night and the prices were less with city specials.

We have a 7:30 am flight so we stay near the Philly airport. This way I know we are nearby and don't need to deal with I-95 traffic or accidents the day of the trip. We book through stay123.com and get the hotel and parking for up to 14 days for $120 or so. Worth every penny!

Well first thing tomorrow am I will be on the phone with disney as I got this message today:

I can't log on the website or app, I can't change my password as it says it can't find my email (on the website) and on the app it says my email is associated with an account already.

I am a bit freaked out right now. All our stuff is in MDE, I had not screen shot any fast passes, I had not put them in my calendar yet, nor did I with our ADR's either.

Augh!
