****Official August 2014 Thread****

My morning walk to get coffee. I'm not much of a morning person, so that little bit of time by myself helps get me going....along with the coffee.

I'm not an official Team August member this year, but I still lurk a little and this post caught my eye. The morning coffee run has long been one of my favorite parts of my Disney vacations. When the kids were young I would be up so early that it was quiet and peaceful and I felt like I had the resort to myself. Now that they are older, I'm no longer alone, but I watch all the families with young kids getting ready to go and appreciate how much easier I have it now lol.

Waving hello to lots of familiar faces here! I hope all the planning is going well! I just booked airfare for our November trip. We are off to Rome next week and then when I get back I will be in full swing back on the DIS to plan! I will be looking forward to hearing about all the new changes from you guys!!

Fellow lurker from last August here, too! We were going to go in May this year, but had to cancel. We are now planning to go in November, unless I can't wait that long and decide to go in August again. Hence, the lurking.

Hey everyone! Started lurking here a few weeks ago before actually booking my trip, but since then, I am now excited to officially have my family's FIRST Disney trip set in stone! We will be there Aug 17-22nd and staying at the AoA Cars.
We are hoping to keep it a secret from our boys (6 & 8), and our daughter (2) and make it a huge surprise when we arrive (not quite sure just how to do it yet).. I'm open to any fun and cute suggestions! Sooo excited to join in on the August 2014!!

Achievement Unlocked: Got the grandparents to come down to join us on our Disney vacation in August. They only get to see their ONLY granchild once a year (we're in TX, they're in NY). Bonus points: My dad's birthday is that weekend as well!

Sometimes just grabbing a coffee while everyone is still asleep in the morning is a real treat too!

I wake up earlier than everyone else, too, so I enjoy having coffee in the peace and quiet. First thing in the morning is when I try to get to the fitness center and workout, too.

We were actually looking around November 6th-10th! However, if they release free dining, it probably won't include those dates. So, we would have to scoot our vacation up or back accordingly. We are waiting for fall deals to come out so we can decide! I'm tempted to do August again, but we desperately miss MVMCP and would like to try F&W for the first time.

I would LOVE to be added to the trip list!

We are going to be at POFQ from August 20-29. This will be our 6th trip to Disney and our 2nd time at POFQ

August can't come fast enough!! I swear it's all I think about lately!

Well geez...I should have known as soon as I posted this something would change (Murphy's Law is alive and well in my life )

We are still going August 20-29, but we've jumped over to CSR instead! We've never been to this resort, so it will be all new to us! I do so love a new adventure!

QOTD I know most of us go to Florida with family/friends and probably do pretty much everything with at least one other person, but I was wondering........What (if anything) do you do all by yourself on your trip? Do you ever go to a park on your own? Or swim or shop on your own? Tell us what you like to do all by yourself!

I will be in training for an Oct 1/2 marathon so I hope to get a few runs in while on vacation

Get up very early! I was in the same position last August and ran a few mornings. The August humidity is rough if you need to do more than a few miles!

We are in a cars suite the 16-23. We were goig. To keep it a surprise, but decided to tell our three. Good luck keeping the surprise!!

I think the possible dates are the 29th and the 1st as MK already has 7PM close times for those dates. The 31st, MK currently has EMH until 12AM.

Judging by the park hours, they will be August 29th and September 1st. What date do you guys fly out? Or do you do Disney first and then cruise?
