Going in August with my 2 year old Grandson. Can't wait.

He is going to love it. We went last year after DD turned 2 and she is still talking about it. Can't wait to go again this year!

This will be out first August trip. We went in July a few years ago and it was hot and crowded. Will August be the same way?

Yes but still an amazing time. We went mid-end if August last year and I guess crowds started to thin out but still felt crowded. Heat was awful. Doing it again this year because we still had an amazing vacation and found ways to make it work.

We are going August 14-23 :cool1: Here is the deal...I am a complete Disney nut! Been to Disney in August at least 5 times. However, my last trip...I wanted to disown my three DD's( ages 14, 13 & 12) they were beyond the pale and I honestly thought they may have killed my love for Disney. My DBIL knows how much I love Disney-heck, his partner DID NOT love Disney and they went on a trip with me and they bought DVC. I showed them a different Disney...and they caught the fever and bought into DVC :lmao: On Thanksgiving my DBIL was asking me about Disney and I was telling him nope...no way...taking time off...still mad about the last trip... (insert small rant about my children) and then my final comment...The only thing that could get me to Disney is a stay at AKL Savannah view well he said "let's do it" insert DBIL's sly grin! Huh? Add to the fact that since my last GG with family these two brother in laws have adopted two little boys that I ADORE! Plus, the fact I am a big believer in making memories with family. So there we have it...I am going to Disney If you told me that last September, I would have told you that you would have a better chance of seeing me wearing a bikini to a high school reunion :lmao: or for that matter even get me to a HS reunion...NOT! But, drat my crafty diabolical DBIL, he got me. :rolleyes1 They are booking 7 days and using all of their points for that view (they are the best! )...well I would like to give them the gift of adding 2 days. One day at the beginning and one day at the end. I can't do more because of stinking kids sports :headache: Don't get me wrong, love my girls and they are good kids...but last trip they were just brutal! I don't think they will ever do that again, because they felt really bad when they came home...and believe me, like a good mother I remind them how they need to make it up to me :rolleyes1:lmao:, because Disney is my happy place and my escape from my crazy kidcentric life! In Disney Momma is the Kid! :yay: So here it is: August Veteran, Queenie-TGM, Queenie- Easy WDW and Eeyorepixie- athe DIS (want to change to Queenie but, do not know how:scratchin) Me, DH, DD 15, DD 14, & DD 13 14-16th not sure, going to stay somewhere with a good discount at a Disney resort 16-23 AKL Savannah view with the dining plan, and YES tickets (waiting for the Summer dates to be released) Queenie pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust::wave2:

We will be the same dates just leaving one day before you. Pop though. Can't wait.

Soooo happy today! We finally purchased our airfare. Of course we were wrestling with the thought of adding a day after our cruise to ease the pressure of timing to get to the airport and we did. We'll be searching for a room only discount for the 31st of August... Hopefully lol.

Now we're trying to decide dining reservations... I asked on Facebook last week but will ask here too -where are you picking for your ADR's? We have 8 days to pick for!!

Hello my friend! I have missed you!

It looks like our paths will cross once again this year.:cheer2:

Hi everyone,

I guess I missed this thread when I started an August thread. Anyway I can post here too.

We are headed to POR on August 2-August9.:cool1:

However, I am thinking of a split stay between POR and CSR. We have stayed at both and I am having trouble. It seems like a lot of work for a split stay. I guess it is just another thing to pass the time.

Just booked the airfare today now it feels real. I am waiting for the Y.E.S. schedule to come out so I can plan that.

We are going to try TL this year. We go to BB everytime but DH and DD want to. I am in. We love the water parks.

Anyway happy planning everyone.:)

Woohoo!!! Yay for crossing the airfare off the list!!! Did you get good price?

I think you will LOVE Typhoon Lagoon. The wave pool is sooooo much fun!!! And the theming is just so lush and tropical.....we much preferred TL to BB during our visit to both last summer. But then again, we're from the North.....so having to look at "snow" in Florida is akin to cruel and unusual punishment :rotfl: .

I've been gone for a while, but I am FINALLY officially booked. I have a question about MDE. My travel agent was supposed to book us a king preferred room at pop, but on MDE it just says "standard room". Should it say "king" or "preferred"? We were also getting connecting rooms. I feel bad grilling my TA about it-I've been asking her a million questions, so I figured I'd check here first :)

So I'm official at POP, 8/13-8/20!!

We got an okay deal, prices just kept going up so we had to lock in.

Typhoon lagoon was the best! We had sooo much fun in the wave pool, and the snorkel shark tank was awesome, the slides were all fantastic too! We definitely liked TL better than BB too!!!

Woo hoo!

I have little ones so we are mostly interested in character meals.
I'd like to repeat Chef Mickey's breakfast- loved it. If like to try Garden Grill- we enjoy Chip and Dale. My daughter LOVES princesses so I would like to book CRT for me and her but she will only be 3 an would enjoy just seeing the princesses at the Fairytale hall so may not keep that one if I even can get it.

We'd like to do Via Napoli and Sci Fi. If I could just go to dinner with my husband I'd love Le Celier. We have extended family coming so we need to have a meeting and hash it all out soon. We did a lot of quick service last year- my kids are not great sitters. We also will have our car and LOVE Sea Dog Brewing company- so so good and great prices literally across the street from Downtown Disney.

Ditto! Times a million. We get enough winter around here too- but I think my kids would enjoy either in the end.

We will overlap! I would think the res should state that- don't feel bad asking. Do you have kids? We have DS will be 5 and dd will be 3.

Is Cape May a fab 5 breakfast? I thought it was just a seafood place?

We liked Chef mickeys food too, the restaurant itself was too noisy for us though lol.

Via Napoli and sci if great choices too, we're debating what to pick at HS this year.

We're planning on taking the kids for le Cellier dinner, they're 10 an 13 for our trip and are good with sit down meals though so I can understand why you'd want to go alone with your dh!

We're off site at the dark side for 4 days at the start of our vacation and will have to come up with some ideas over there lol.

Also on our list is Tusker house breakfast, CRT, 1900 park faire, possibly Ohana or maybe a dinner show. I love having free dining so we can book at restaurants we wouldn't necessarily book at if we had to pay out of pocket!!
