So sad, no FREE dining for us, we had to book the 8-15, my daughter starts school on the 17th!!!

We waited to the last minute to book the 4/3 because we wanted to see about the free dining offer this year. 4/3 couldn't be beat at the Poly even if we are going at a busy time. Has anyone been during this time(8th thru 15th) and how bad were the crowds?

Just booked last week, we have timeshare so we stay offsite, but every trip to Orlando we do DW!

We're staying at the Poly Aug. 23rd to the 30th to celebrate our 10th anniversary
We went last Aug. too. Yes, it is hot and crowded but we still loved it! We would go in early then go back to the Poly for lunch and swim. Then back out for dinner and more parks. If it was so bad we wouldn't be going back again at this time.

We will staying at Kidanni from August 2nd through the 7th (2 adults and 3 kids). We considered doing a group outing and booking a group block of tickets. Adults pay the same price as kids............ If anyone is interested in discussing send me a PM or email me jeffhallenbeck at yahoo dot com.

We usually go later in August so I'm not sure what to expect crowd wise when the southern schools haven't gone back yet. I am hoping that the announcement of Free Dining will lessen the crowds in early August as more people push their vacations back to take advantage of the promotion.

We'll be at the Poly for those same dates!

We were there roughly the same time last year. The crowds and heat were totally do-able.

But be sure to get trip insurance; last year TS Faye almost cancelled our return flight.

Oooo, we stayed at the Grande Vista last year! You'll be floored if you've never stayed there before-- it's so beautiful. Gorgeous pool with a great bar (for drinks and food-- we spent most our nights by the pool and ordered the great appetizers to share as dinner.)
You can rent movies in the main house, rent paddle boats on their huge lake...we're staying onsite this year, but I really can't tell you enough about the services at Grande Vista. Housekeeping was incredible!
The only drawback is driving time-- it is a bit far from the Disney parks.


Oh, DBF and I are staying at POR from August 20-25! Anyone know of a photopass share that we could get into? Thanks!

Isn't it beautiful! I agree, that is where we own, bought in 2005, so classy and well maintained. Would love to stay onsite one day, but we need the extra room and laundry. With the timeshare being free when we go, we are able to go on a nice vacation every year.

Enjoy your trip, and sorry for the ignorance, but what do you mean by sharing photopass?

I'll be there August 8-16 at POFQ on my honeymoon! I was very happy when the 4 for 7 deal came out. Free dining doesn't interest us since we aren't big table service eaters (we're both fairly picky eaters).

Is it August yet?!?! At least we are now one month away until the release of August hours

We'll be at Pop Aug. 18th -Aug 23rd with free dining. Can't wait!! I never thought I'd go back in August since we had tropical storm Faye with us almost the whole time last August, but couldn't pass up the free dining!!
