Official AUGUST 2008 CODES to be posted here please!!:)

No. It doesn't mean that at all. It's just that the 3rd starts value season, so we'll get a different round of codes.

Last year there were AP codes for most of the summer and then a general public code that started at the beginning of value season. I think there was another AP code too that was a little better than the general code.

If you can switch your dates, the later you can go into August, the less crowded it will become.

Also all these PIN email codes are starting on August 10th, so you might want to consider that.

Oh wait, you're thinking of moving up??? I wouldn't do that. You're getting a big discount for being in value season instead of summer season already.

And like I said, the later you can go the better, crowd-wise.

Last year after AP codes coming out for up until August 4th, another set of codes came out for August 5-Sept 29. So if you have an AP, you should get another code near mid to late June. (If everything happens like last year! ;))

Thanks so much for this reply!! This makes me feel a lot better about sticking with the dates! what a headache if I were to swtich 'em! (ADRS and all)

My 45 day cut off date is June 20th -- I'm a bit skeptical about rates coming out before than so I just want to be prepared. When you make a change to the reservation after the 45 days, what is the penalty??

The AP discount just released comes to 21% savings on a value regular room weekend rate and a 19% savings on a value prefered room on a weekend. Beat AAA and their 10% discount though.

I received a pin code yesterday for stays up until Aug 2. We will be going Aug 16-23 so no good.

I have a question.......

I have already paid AAA off. If a code comes out that I could use, would I still be able to apply that code to my room even though its paid off, and get a refund back from Disney?

Man, you are showing up on all of my favorite threads.

Yes, you would receive a refund if the code works for you. But I think you would have to pay a penalty if it was within 45 days for packages or 5 days for room only.

Does anyone know what the penalty is for changing it in the 45 day mark?

I believe it's $50...but that's waived if you make a change that results in a higher $$$ amount. So a lot of people end up moving to a nicer resort for just a few dollars more.

woot! second post...

i read the ENTIRE thread. just signed up for Disney Visa for the whole reason of getting a possible code. Also asked for planning DVD and quoted a vacation online. Hopefully all my bases are covered, just hope its not too late.

Im taking my girl back to Disney Aug 1st-4th. We stayed at the Poly last August. THis time I hope to spring for the GF!

I think im going to sign up for the visa too. Hoping for a code. We have free dining booked right now, but might change it if the code is good enough! I just got one for Disneyland. But not Disneyworld.

^according to mousesavers, you are not going to do much better than free dining (although that was pre-2008, i hear dining sucks now)

This is true, you may possibly get a personal pin code, but disney probably won't put out any other code you can use for your stay. They will put out a room only discount code for FL residents and AP holders, and maybe for general guest, but again that won't apply to packages, only to room only reservations.

This seems true so far with the exception of the AP. Since AP can now book the dining plan without tickets, they are able to apply the discount to the room portion of their package

All I know is that the current early summer AP code looks better than my offer that I got while staying at Pop. I am hoping that when the AP rate for late summer comes out it is also better than my current rate so I can upgrade to a better room. . .we shall see. . .

Sorry about the confusion. What I meant in saying that was that the code will still be called a room only code for AP because it only applies a discount to the room, not anything else, even though they can add the dining plan.

Last year I got a general public package discount for my 8/20 to 8/30 stay on June 14th. Free dining started after we arrived. This general public code did save us over the AAA package we already had booked.

Waiting for an AP rate/GP room discount for august 6th through the 15th and the wait is killing me:surfweb: We just got back and the room discount rates (didn't have an AP at the time) for May came out to late for me to rebook without getting charged so this time I'm going to wait for some rates to come out. I was able to book a bounceback rate for the first wk in december but they only allow 1 trip to be booked with bounceback offer.
Lets hope these discount come out soon.

I got a good rate at the Dolphin for August so I reserved there. But, if I get a good AP rate for deluxe or moderate I might change.
