Canton

What school do your kids go to?

It's a Small World! Sorry, couldn't resist! :lmao:

I have a 4th grader at Little River Elementary and my other daughter is in the 6th grade at Mill Creek Middle.

My sister lives in Canton, I really like that area.

BTW, I'm the one from the April 2013 FB that messaged you about the Illuminations Cruise. :)

My dgs goes to Mt Paran. We live in Bridgemill. If the group cancels on the cruise I will let you know. I thought you just wanted info and they said yes. You might be able to get a boat or share with someone else. There is a thread where people are looking to share boats. Check it out.

Ugh preparing for the worst case scenario.....too many days off followed by too many snow days = no April vacation = no WDW :(

It just got real!!!!!

Wishing you ALL luck that it wont be as bad as they are saying. We are in NE Ohio, and they are warning that WE are going to have crazy winds and probably no power, plus 3 inches of rain.

I am hoping to be able to go next December too. My sister is doing the College Program until August and will probably try to extend it. If she does and she's still down there it'd be a good excuse to go again. But even if she isn't there I still want to go. By that time it will have been 5 year since I've last been there around the holidays. I had a trip planned for this December but ended up having to cancel so we had enough DVC points for the April trip at BLT. I am seriously dying to go back and see the Christmas decorations.

Wow, at the rate we are going we can all just move over to the December board together...we are also planning December.

We're preparing for power outages/school cancellations as we speak...I REALLY don't want school to be cancelled. I've been out for the past two and a half weeks sick with mono, I'm feeling better, and I want to be back!!! :headache:

Here's hoping all of my fellow April Disers stay safe and don't experience much damage this week. <3 :grouphug:

Sounds good to me! :) Have you ever gone in December before?

We are on the coast in MA and we are all gearing up for the outages like last year. We had no power for a week. I'm hoping that it will be a dud and the forecast will be wrong. I don't have time for a big storm to ruin things. Ugh.

since so many of us here are from NE, I'm thinking this thread will be awfully quiet starting tomorrow. We've lucked out and have never lost power for more than a couple hours during any other storms, but I have a feeling we won't be so lucky this time. Esp. considering there's a lot of huge trees in my Town. :sad2:

We are all stocked up and waiting for Sandy! I'm hoping it dissipates by the time it gets to Southern Maine, but we have a generator so I better not miss Dancing With the Stars!!! Lol

this storm better pass us by! Last year this time we had that freak snowstorm and lost power for 8 days. It was miserable:sick: then they took away our april vacation, then gave it back. I NEVER want that many days without power again! Ugh. We do not have a generator, but at least there is no snow involved in this one. Stay safe everyone :goodvibes Off to mess with my disney planning, and possibly rearrange days/ADR's...someone stop me!:scared:

Good luck to everyone preparing for Hurricane Sandy! We are in eastern PA and there's a good chance we'll get hit pretty badly and lose power. We're in an apartment; everything is electric so there won't be any cooking here if we lose power! Luckily we stocked up on snacks. I'm in grad school and my school already cancelled classes for Monday and Tuesday (my courses this semester are online anyway but it things are getting pretty serious!)

AngieMouse86 -- April 22 - 29; ???

Well, you can go ahead and take me off the list. :sad1:

After a lot of discussion, DBF and I have decided to push our anniversary trip back a few months and turn it into either a bday trip for him, if we go in October, or an early Christmas present to ourselves, if we go in November. It just came down to dollars¢s; Still make the trip but feel pinched or push it back a bit and probably be able to go for a couple extra days...sad, but a no-brainer.

Good news is we'll still do a little something special in April, probably a weekend trip to San Diego, which is where we went last year and looks to become a tradition. :rotfl:

I wish everyone the best of luck with all your plans!! You'll all have *amazing* trips! :goodvibes

ugh, 8 days!?! We lucked out, towns all around us - even some in our own town - were without for days. Some towns up to 2 weeks. I think we lost for 2 hours? I'm really nervous about this one. We have a few giant pines around our house, I'm really afraid of them crashing down on us. :scared:

We had that same snowstorm and lost power for 4 days....and that sucked! I can't imagine 8...where are u located? We ended up trick or treating in the ice and snow :/

We are in western ma (Ludlow) and yes last year sucked! I just got a call that school is closed tomorrow already! Ugh.

I thought I'd join in here! I'm Rebecca, I'm 20, and I'm planning a mother-daughter April 27 - May 4 trip with my mom. We haven't booked yet (holding out for a bit to see if any discounts are released) but I'll probably make my ADRs, at least the ones that don't charge you for cancelling, before we book. Anyway, hello everyone! :wave2:

I'm waiting for that call too. Schools in the next town over have done it already so I know it's just a matter of time.
We were in Disney the last year for the last hurricane (hurricane Irene). We got to stay in Disney for 2 more days. DH was worried about the house and flooding in the cellar but all was ok when we got home. I wish we were in Disney again lol.
I hope we don't get to many snow days this year!!!

pwdebbie: I'm sad to say this but we've decided that the flights were just to ridiculous and we're going to change the plan to July. Thanks for starting this thread and all you've done.
Now I need to cancel that BOG ressie.
Have fun all you April DISers!!!!

:sad1: I hate to see some of us go...

I know it's such a bummer!! I'll miss chatting about the trip but at least we still get to go!
I'll probably just be lurking still lol.
