MA teacher here and booked for April 12-20th. We are flying out from Manchester NH to Orlando right after school on that Friday... hoping we make it! We are currently booked for 3 nights at the AOA in a mermaid room then moving over tp POR Royal room. May rethink that plan with the new discount out though.
Wanted to add to all my MA friends I feel us. The airfare is sooo expensive for this week but being a teacher (DH too) this is the only time we can go. Flying US Airways since we have their card and got the kids tix for 99.00 but with blackout dates for the week we could not use our point for airfare so we had to buy two full price tix to the tune of 691.00 per person![]()
TJDisneymama said:my DH is a MA teacher as well and we"re flying out of MHT on the 12th too. he took the day off though so we got an early flight. i dont know if you saw any of my earlier posts but yeah.....airfare has been a nightmare. even with getting (3) one way tix free with points AND using a $350 credit, it ended up costing us almost $1000 for the 4 of us. thats obscene!![]()
1000 is a great price for a vacation week! We were hoping to go on April vacation also (all meal reservations are made) but no
way are we paying there crazy air faire for 4 people. Right now we only have 2 options drive (from RI husband is the only driver) or fly out of new York. I really need to decide before tomorrow!
i suppose i could have paid less if i wanted to change planes but i' m a stickler for nonstop.

i saw on the news last night that airfare will be going up in 2013.![]()
We are too. No way I want to extend flying with three small kids any longer than I have to!!!
<------ this idiot has a layover with two small kids. Yep, arriving in Orlando around 10pm. Shoot meyeah, theres no reason to change planes or even just stop on a 3 hr. flight. i wouldnt mind it for a long flightflight tho,say anything over 5 hrs.

We'll be there will bells on!!! We're planning on arriving 3/29, then off to our first Disney Dream cruise 4/4. I've got dining reservations, but none yet for the resort (I've NEVER run this late in my planning, but we're waiting on a chunk - o - cash haha).
I've got one reservation for 4/7 at Be Our Guest. Can't wait!!

A few years ago I won plane tickets from Orbitz in a Disney contest, which I gladly accepted. Then I tried to book my trip from here to there, even using several different departure airports. The tickets were not valid on non-stop flights. That should have been enough right there to make me call Orbitz and give them back the prize, but I kept checking to see what I could get. The least number of stops those tickets would get me was THREE! Can you believe it? What could have been a two-hour flight was turning into a nightmare. One route they gave me involved FIVE stops and almost 24 hours from the time I departed the first airport until I landed in Orlando. I totally lost respect for Orbitz with that "prize." Needless to say, we never used the tickets (and they weren't donatable to charities, like some tickets are). I ended up having to claim them as income on our taxes even though they were never used because Orbitz filed a 1099. (I found out a year later that I could have asked Orbitz to rescind the 1099, so I chalked this up to an expenseive lesson learned in the world of sweepstaking.)
Once again, with all you folks talking about the issues with flying, I am glad we are driving (even though I will most likely be a nervous wreck when we get there).
