OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

Hey April Disers!!! Can you all tell me when your school's break is in April (if they have one)? Ours is the last week in April and I think that's later than normal for our school but I can't remember! Anyway, DH is making those noises that we may get to go in April this year when I'm on break, but I told him I'd check here first! So, can you fill me in on your school's schedule? If it's too crowded when we want to go, he'll prob say no!

Ours is the 16-20, and that is very late for around here. The other 2 school districts in my county are in March.

Our break is April 9th~16th 2012. It was the thrid week of April but the district moved it to the second week.

I am officially booking our trip tomorrow but we will be staying at Fort Wilderness from April 7th to the 13th.

After months of straight working my husband and I just need to get away. We both work with special needs children (I in a nursery school and him in a middle school), and then have second jobs, so we need to go on vacation badly. Both of us LOVE our jobs and our days feel so rewarding but they are stressful days so it will be nice for us to have some days to "relax" and spend time together.

The district I work in has off Good Friday and the week after Easter.

Easywdw/Josh just posted some refurb updates, and he's reporting that the opening date for Dumbo will be further pushed to the end of March rather than mid-March. Now it's getting too close for comfort for our April trip. Hope it's ready by the time we get there.

Easywdw/Josh just posted some refurb updates, and he's reporting that the opening date for Dumbo will be further pushed to the end of March rather than mid-March. Now it's getting too close for comfort for our April trip. Hope it's ready by the time we get there.

I just got a notice the other day about the Fantasyland expansion and it said that it would be opening in late February - this was on wdwmagic.com I believe.........


Also, someone was asking about spring break dates- ours is March 31 till April 9.

That very well may be possible. I don't know if they are planning on opening both dumbos at the same time, or opening the new one first in February while they finish moving and installing the old dumbo in its new location by March.

i beleive the last week in April is a bit slower as far as April goes. Not quite as slow as May though. Does that help at all?? lol

Well, another change - my friend and her DD ARE going!!!! She called me this morning and said - Did you say your prayers last night??? and do you have a direct line to God, b\c my dad was able to change the time share"

The girls are going to have SOOOOOO much fun. My friend's daughter has never been, so I am going to have fun watching her see everything for the first time.

oh no!! I hopd it is done before April. I'm just curious, I know I've read that Disney's website is usually the farthest off about re-opening dates/hours/etc. But where does easywdw and other sites get their information from?

I believe they have access to the information posted on the internal online portal designed for castmembers. They get more uptodate information than what's posted on the Disney public website.

Well it's 90 more days to go!!

Would you believe I haven't made all of my ADR's yet? And not because we booked late or anything. I just haven't done it!

I got online the first day I could and booked Ohana for dh, and a Chef Mickeys for ds. We're also staying at AKL so I booked a Boma and Sanaa.
And that's pretty much it. I think it's because I keep going back and forth on whether I even want the DDP this time. When I crunched numbers we came out about even. We've been quite a few times now, so we've done the hard to get reservations. I think I'll play around with ressies this week and see what we'd like to try again. I'm just not too worried about it. If I don't see anything that I *must* have I don't think I'll bother with the DDP. Dh did say he likes one TS per day for a nice break though. I can't make up my mind.

We'll be at the Poly April 7th-9th. DBF's family spends every other Easter at the Poly. We have ressies at Crystal Palace, Akershus, Rose & Crown, Chef Mickey's and the Brown Derby. A lot of food for three days at the parks!

I'm planning on upgrading my Premium AP to DLR to a Premier when I go in a few weeks. I'm thinking of getting Tables in Wonderland since I have two trips to WDW planned this year. Does anyone know if there are black out dates?

I think I am finally ready to book CRT...it is really just for me, to eat in the castle like a princess. I think I am going to book dinner, I keep going back and forth between breakfast and dinner because we are not going to do DDP (I think anyway) it is just so expensive!! Not to mention paying for it so soon before the trip hurts a bit. Oh well, I'm sure it will be a one time only thing...at least until we have kids...

I also have booked throughout our week Jiko (which I may cancel if we do Waynama Safari), Le Celier, and Sci-Fi... anyone have any thoughts or recommendations about any of these?

I could be wrong, or maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but I don't think you have to pay for CRT when you make your ressie. I know you have to give a CC number to confirm it, and in case you don't show up, I believe they charge you. But I made my reservation months ago for dinner at CRT and I have not gotten a charge on my CC for it.

I got busted! We are planning a surprise trip. My oldest pretty much knows we are going to go back to disney ~ one day! But not sure when. Anyway, lately she has been asking a lot "when are we going back to disney world?" Well, yesterday she saw a set of the Minnie applique shirts my friend made us for the trip...she loved them and said, we should wear them on our next trip to disney world. 2 of our last 3 trips we've been at WDW for my birthday...my birthday is tomorrow!! I really think she thinks we are going to disney any minute!! I finally had to tell her that we are going to go to disney, but DH and I have decided we want to go sometime when it is warm enough to swim and go to the water parks, so maybe this summer. I hope she's surprised in April!!

CRT- how fun! I have yet to eat there- it's tough having 2 boys. I hope to eat there next year with my niece.
We have eaten at LeCellier and Sci-Fi. Sci-Fi is a must do every trip. We love the atmosphere there it's so fun!
We haven't eaten at LeCellier since 2009 before it became a Signature restaurant. It was delicious!

I could be wrong, or maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but I don't think you have to pay for CRT when you make your ressie. I know you have to give a CC number to confirm it, and in case you don't show up, I believe they charge you. But I made my reservation months ago for dinner at CRT and I have not gotten a charge on my CC for it.

When I make the reservation, it goes to a page showing the exact charge and says "this reservation requires advance payment." I just assumed it charged up front. It's different from how Le Cellier credit card holding looks... hmm...maybe I just misunderstood.
