*OFFICIAL* AP Watch thread for Jan/Feb UPDATE: THERE OUT 1/1 THRU 2/11

After being on the phone and glued to my computer for the last 36 hours, we finally scored an AP rate on POR for 8 nights at $88/night from 1/24-2/1!

We called 407-WDW-INFO for the reservations this time.

Keep trying, everyone. They truly are there somewhere!
 
I just got off the phone. I was on hold for about 25 minutes. The lady picked up and I said I would like to get a price quote with BCE (as mentioned above) She then said oh that code is not valid yet. I then asked do know when it will be? She then said I don't know where people are getting that code from and I don't know what is going on with that code. I then said ok thank You. :crazy: Guess I will have to wait till tommorrow. :rolleyes:
I called 3 times today and have not gotten lucky. Good luck to anyone else trying.
 

Just booked Pop Century using BCE for jan 29-feb 8. Got $49 plus tax. No problems. Great CM!!
 
Ok, I know I am crazy. :crazy: But I had to try one more time before I went to bed. This time I only waited about 2 minutes on hold. :Pinkbounc I mentioned the code and she then asked for my last name and zip code. Then asked my check in date and then she said oh wow Jan and Feb AP codes are out. She then continued to read and said I'm sorry the AP code does not start till tommorrow. I said ok I will call tommorrow. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Are they trying to see if you are a current AP holder? I'm planning to update once I get the rate. I hope not being a current holder doesn't keep me from getting a rate!!!
 
Samandmom...I just did the same thing...
Had a great CM...she put me on hold. She said to call back in the morning and the BCE code for AP holders would be in effect. So good luck to you all, but the bad thing for me is that it is for the dates of January 1- February 11th 2004. I'm not going until February 19th. :(

I had my heart set on Poly Lagoon View, but I'm going to have to be OK with my Swan Resort View with Balcony. At least the good old Swan didn't keep me hanging waiting for good rates. And I am happy for those that got them tonight, but AGGRAVATED that they are giving them out to some and not to others.

I was asked for zip code, and wasn't asked for zip code. Even had one cm suggest purchasing an AP to have access to upcoming discounts, when I asked if any other discounts other than my AAA existed. She said if I call tomorrow the AP rates should be available and should consider buying one. (this cm had asked my zip and noticed I hadn't been in 2 years so assumed I didn't have one).

Another time I just called and asked for AP rates without providing any of my personal info, and provided the code, no go. So I don't think the zip code has anything to do with it.

The last one, 10pm, told me that the people who are getting them are due to computer glitches and that their computers have been locked down now and no more should be able to get thru until they are officially released, hence there should be plenty available, as opposed to the random availablity people were getting all day for the same dates. Let's hope that's the case.

I've decided to just get up and call at 7am.

called 407-wdw-info. got really nice cm (first time in four tries in twenty-four hours). changed existing ressie for cbr jan 12 thru 17 to $88. per night!!! very happy camper now!!! thanks for your help, everyone! :Pinkbounc

Looks like we may have to wait this one out. Sooo close, yet still not within reach. I'm wondering if the guest services CM I spoke to this morning will call me with available AP rates when they hit (tomorrow??) as she stated. HMMM...

BTW - Yes, we're in P'vl - my older DS goes to St. Theresa (pk @ St. John's).

I had an existing reservation for Pop Century on Feb.1-6 and I called tonight to change resorts to the Coronado Springs resort for the same dates, and I was quoted $881 for 2 rooms for those 5 nights with the AP rate. I told the CM I was talking with that I would like to switch for that price. So he starts putting it in his computer and he told me that my reservations for pop century were cancelled and that my new reservation number was #### but then he told me my total was $1300 for 2 rooms for 5 nights and I asked him about the $881 and then he told me his computer froze and he wouldn't be able to use it again for 45 minutes and by that time your reservation center would be closed that I should just call back tomorrow morning. Then he told me that I still have my existing pop century reservations. I told him I was not calling back that I needed to speak to someone else, so he tried to transfer me and I went right back to his line and when he answered and realized it was me he just hung up on me. Do you think that I no longer have any reservations??? I am doing some major stressing over here.

the same thing happened to me tonight. Our existing ressie for WL was 2300.00, when they put in that we were AP holders, the ressie went up to 3400.00 and locked up. She said the same thing call back in one hour, by then I was put on hold for one hour, then they closed. I will call in the morning.
 
ktyler, as long as you have your original confirmation number, they should be able to find you in the system and let them know what happened with the computer freezing up and you should be able to reinstate your original ressies.
 
I wonder if they are having major computer problems or that is an excuse ...husband called at 5, after my fruitless day on the phone and waited 45 mins, got cm whose comp. froze and he got disconnected , called back with the obligatory wait..no rates yet. called about 7:30 since this is becoming my personal Mt. Everest, same thing again, called at 9 no rates called 10:30 (since i kept seeing how others were getting their rates at the same time I was being told"no" )and guess what ...her computer froze not once but twice plus nothing was available at any rate plus no ap rates either !!! she is supposed to call back tomorrow but all of the 600,000,000,000 cms I talked to after about 3 PM said definite rates tomorrow..we'll see.

Truly not being facetious here;

I suspect it was a computer glitch compounded with hundreds (if not more) of multiple calls all asking CMs to access the same information at the same time. I know on our system, if too many users are trying to access the same file, it brings the system to it's knees.

I'm hanging in there with the rest of you, but waiting for the dust to settle. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.
 
I sure hope today is the day, all this waiting is very stressful. I need an AP rate so I can sit back and start planning this trip.

Although I know my agent will snag me a great rate, I check the threat daily. I'll be picking up my Hopper's on Friday, My AP is good till the 2nd day of my vacation, hoping all I need to do is renew it. I have Hoppers left over from last year that I'll be using if I won't be renewing it.
