I'll do mine in palmtreegirl format

Scott- bad retread of a song. Poor chereography, and he just looked uncomfortable

Bo- I do like Bo. Somehow I thought he would rock us with a Zepplin tune or something. Good, but not fabulous

Anthony- Not Latino. Don't try. You look like a poser! Only swarthy men can pull off that song.

Nikko- I'm not a huge Nikko fan, but I liked this. He pulled out the stops, and did an Anwarish move with an older song.

Travis- Very very cute.. not a singer.

Mario- Boring! Eh performance.

.
Constantine- Sting you are not. You can go home.

Anwar- Fabulous in a fantastic lowkey way.

Here's what I thought of tonight:

Scott - I've never liked him. I don't think he's a very good singer and tonight just proved it again. He tried to sing a song that Clay sang, which was a mistake. I still remember when Clay sang it, it was the first week of the final 12 and it was Motown week. He sang it so well (even though I remember Simon clearly saying that it was too Broadway). I think Scott's version came nowhere near being as good as Clay's.

Bo - I like Bo, he's one of my favorites. I really thought he sounded a little off at points and I didn't think it was one of his best performances (unlike what Randy and Paula said). But it was still good, and a lot better than some of the others tonight, and I hope to see him around a lot longer.

Anthony - I loved him tonight. He sang a really upbeat song, unlike the past two weeks, and sang a really different style. I thought his voice sounded great and he showed that he can sing different types of music. I really didn't understand Simon's comment about how that music didn't fit him. Isn't the whole point of the show to be able to sing all different genre's of music???

Nikko - As soon as he started singing, my dad and I were like "he's gone." I don't think he's that good, and I don't think that he should be in the final 12 just because he could hold that final note.

Travis - He was really bad. I know a lot of girls like him because he's cute and can perform, but that was probably his worst performance based on vocals.

Mario - I thought he sounded good tonight. Again as with Anthony, it was nice to see him change his style a bit, and I really hope to see him in the top 12.

Constantine - I usually like him, but I thought that was probably his worst performance. He really sounded off and I thought the judges were gonna bite his head off, but Randy and Paula praised him! Even though he wasn't that good, I hope he sticks around.

Anwar - I guess I agree with the judges that he probably had one of the best performances of the night. He's not one of my favorites and I don't want him to win, but I'd still like to see him in the top 12. I'm sure he'll have no problem making it far since a lot of people like him a lot.

On Wednesday I think the one person that should definitely be going home is Travis. He's been weak all 3 performances. As for the second person, I think it should be between Scott and Nikko (although I'm afraid it might be Constantine).

Based on performance, I'd pick Scott, Travis or Anthony to go. However, you never know with American Idol.........

I don't know, but I noticed quite a few of them were Tauruses.

I noticed that too! I know Scott, Anthony and I think Nikko were all Tauruses. I was excited about that because I'm a Taurus too. I wonder if any of them share my birthday.

Scott - I like his voice when I'm not watching him dance or make weird faces.

Bo - AWESOME...I'm with Simon, it's his competition to lose right now

Anthony - I normally love him, but I did not like his performance tonight.

Nikko - He didn't blow me away, but he wasn't horrible either.

Travis - bad, bad, bad, bad....bad.

Mario - okay...just okay. I agree with the Justin G. comment

Constantine - I really liked him at the beginning, but I think he just keeps getting worse. I also agree with the "what are Randy and Paula smoking" comment.

Anwar - He's in second place behind Bo as far as I'm concerned. I'm very picky about listening to that song b/c it's the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding reception. No one does it better than Louis, but I loved Anwars rendition.

I think Mario and Travis will go home this week since they didn't do a spectacular job and they were already on the bottom of the list last week.

Me too...

Scott- I think he's got a good voice, but don't think he's got the right look for an American Idol. Then again, who would think Ruben would fit that mold?

Bo- I like him, but I don't love him.

Anthony- Never heard that song. Don't like him. Hope he goes!

Nikko- I'm underwhelmed and don't understand what Paula sees in him.

Travis- Very very cute -- great smile, twinkly eyes. I think he'd do better as a model.

Mario- Please someone, give him his hat back. Reminds me of Justin Timberlake (and I'm not a big fan of his).

Constantine- I love him -- can't explain it. So much for the "hormonal teeny bopper" vote -- I'm 39! I just think he has star quality, and I think he takes a lot more of the "risks" with songs that they supposedly say they're looking for.

Anwar- Very down to earth. I wouldn't be upset if he won.

I'm hoping that Anthony, Nikko and/or Travis goes home.

You know what really bugs me about Constantine...he plays to the camera too much. He tries to pull that smoldering eyes - sexy thing but it just cracks me up!

If singing counts for anything Constantine should be gone. He will probably survive.

Scott- Ok, nothing spectacular, and going first is always a bad spot.

Bo- Like him, not his best night.

Anthony- I WANT to like this kid, but its just a milktoast kind of feeling right now.

Nikko- I really liked him tonight, first time I can say that.

Travis- One of my picks to go home

Mario- I liked him ok tonight, but haven't been overly impressed.

Constantine- A second pick to go. His voice is not strong enough for this competition. I want a singer that sends shivers up my spine with his voice, not his looks. We'll see him on TV regardless.

Anwar- My favorite. What a voice.

Oh my gosh!!!! I've been sitting here DISing and turning around to glance at the performances. Nobody really blowing me away till Anwar. That was incredible!!!!! Definitely, definitely my favorite of the guys!!

So has Anthony's...I haven't been able to get through for him yet.

I thought Scott did well. Not great, but I like his voice and he handled the song well.

Anthony really stepped out of what people expected from him and he handled it very well.

I just don't get Bo. He's just "okay" to me, but nothing special.

Constantine... I don't know what to say. I don't know why he's picking these songs, I have the feeling he can do so much more. I'd like to hear him singing INXS stuff. As for being off pitch or out of tune - Sting has never sung anything in tune. Don't get me wrong, I like Sting - but I swear he's tone deaf. All of the songs he does make use of that and take advantage of the fact that his singing is a little "off". Maybe that was Constantine's problem - trying to sing the right kind of "off" and missing.

Anwar - I was really prepared not to like the performance going into it. I like his voice, some of his performances have left me a little cold though and when he started this one I figured it was going to be another one. Finished it off very nicely though.

All I can remember about Travis was wishing I had the remote control so I could mute it.

Maybe it's just 'cause I'm a guy and I'd rather be staring at Amanda Avila ( ;) ), but....I really don't get what's so great about the guys.

Now, I like Bo - reminds me of the bands I like - Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles, and the like.

Surprising the heck outta me tonight was Anthony - didn't like him one bit up to this point and can't stand Marc Anthony at all, but I thought this guy did really, really good tonight.

As for Mario - don't get it. He really didn't seem to be able to hit the notes

And will someone please explain to me the fascination with Anwar? Everyone here likes him, everyone there likes him, but I can't stand him. I don't think he can sing that well, and he keeps on choosing these classic songs that I think sound twenty times better when sung by the original artists. I think that I just can't get over the atrocity that was his "Moon River."

And Constantine - wow, so so awful tonight (and every night for that matter).

Anyway - I think that Travis (the bad beat-box dancer) and Scott will be gone. Travis should defintely be gone, but Scott probably shouldn't (I'd go with Constantine), however with Scott being at the beginning and having just a genuine lack of personality, I think he'll be gone.

I'm shocked ;) and respectfully disagree. I love Sting! He's had an amazing career with The Police and as a solo artist. He's a great songwriter.

I missed it. Can someone give me a small recap? Was there a theme or still personal choice? Who did the judges like tonight and who got hammered?

I totally agree with you - his voice is okay but he just isn't a great performer - I would like to listen to him in a piano bar - not go to a concert or buy his CD

Wow...it always amazes me how different everyone's opinions are!! I have to say, first of all, that I was very relieved to find that the guys were actually singing some good songs this week...as opposed to the genre(s) from the past few weeks. Much more enjoyable!!

That being said, my two least favorites from this week are Travis and Anthony. I'm with whoever above said that I really DO want to like Anthony, but he just isn't doing it for me. Scott would be my next to vote off...just don't think he has "IT". (Loved the whole "serial killer" quote!)

On the other hand, can I just say, "WOW!!" for Neeko, Mario, and Anwar!!!! Excellent!!! I'm so glad to see that these guys "brought it" this week. I'm undecided when it comes to Constantine...I too felt like he was very pitchy the whole song, though that is quite true to Sting-style. I would definitely rather listen to Bo who seems more mature, more professional in both singing and performance style.

I agree that the first half of Moon River was not his best moment. But Anwar is a great singer - he's got tone & pitch. He's technically the superior singer. I think he's the total package: charisma, hip image with the dreads, nice teeth (hey it's important to me! :teeth: ), good role model, and a smooth singer.
