Well, my first Disney experience was Disneyland in 1960. I was 12 and remembered getting our 1st TV in 1955 and watching a show called "Disneyland" later renamed "The Wonderful World of Disney". So you can only imagine how excited my brother and I were to actually be in Disneyland. We were on vacation from a very small town in the panhandle of Texas. Of course we had ticket books. My Dad also took me to watch the "Brooklyn" newly moved LA Dodgers play in the LA Coliseum. They were my favorite team. It was also my first time to see the ocean...many great memories. Fast forward to 1988 and at age 40 my husband and I took our 6 and 8 year olds to WDW for my next Disney experience. My 6 year old daughter and I fell in love with everything Disney...opened and closed MK and Epcot for a week and came home and started a Disney collection...especially Christmas decorations. She and I have returned twice since then in 2000 and 2002. We have been patiently waiting for her own to children to reach the ages of 6 and 8 to take them on their 1st Disney trip. It is also my husband and my 50th wedding anniversary this year..so in September, our family of 7 is heading to WDW for a week. And, of course, we are hoping to snag free dining because we want to take granddaughters to several character dinings.
:welcome:
Congratulations on your 50th wedding anniversary!! Wishing you a wonderful and magical celebration trip!!

Bounce Back is usually never the same as the GP one. Also it looks like maybe VISA Card holders get that extra week again as they did last year I am assuming.

Good morning everyone! I feel today is portent. I was woken by DH with a plate of toasted hot cross buns and a cup of tea, so it is surely going to be a great day! It's not called Good Friday for nothing. Bring on FD!

My first Disney experience was when I was 5 (1983) and my dad's company had a sales incentive one year that my dad won. It was a trip for the family from Sydney to their head office in Ohio and a holiday at Disneyland.
I have a few snapshot memories, one being my mum yelling at me to get out of the bath as I was missing the fireworks and the parade from our hotel balcony.

Fast forward 2 years ago and DH needed to go to Hong Kong for a week for work when it was school holiday time, so DD and I tagged along and we spent the weekend together at Disneyland and LOVED it. We really didn't expect to have such a good time. We did rope drop to close. Mystic Manor was our favourite!

And now, I have a trip to New York planned in mid Sept with my high school girlfriends to celebrate our 40th and so DH and DD are joining me there after a week. We're going to drive around NH and Vermont for a few days. Then we're flying down to Florida for 9 nights at WDW! It started as 3 nights but we've extended and extended as I've got more excited about things.
Can't wait!

August 13 to September 30
November 14-20, 25-27
December 8-23

I stalked this thread in 2015 and have been doing it again for this years trip... this post made me so excited I had to post for the first time! I *SO* hope these dates are correct... I literally (last night) switched my check in date from 11/10 to 11/14 and booked my airfare (was trying to wait for FD to drop but the price was too good to pass up).:cheer2:

I don't remember the details of the gift card promotion, but correct me if I am wrong but there was a deadline or stop date on any reservations for that correct? So I wonder how technical Disney will get on that.. As if you take your current reservation with the 150 and "modify" for FD, you are really cancelling one reservation and making a new one.. this is why they say if you want FD and have a room booked already, it doesnt guarentee anything as you have to make a new FD ressie... So would this mean you forfit your gift card if you change to FD??? if you can get both, wow good for you!! that is a steal.

and people modified to get the summer discounts and were told they would keep gift cards.

I am a new Disney Visa holder. What was last year offer for holders?

Never been to Dutch wonderland but I drive past it every week. I looks kinda sad. Is it just for little kids?
Yes, great for the 6-7 and under set but they have dole whips so maybe you want to sneak in one day! Lol weve gone in July for the past 3 years and have a good time but this will probably be our last summer since my boys will be 4 and almost 6.....were moving into Hershey park territory! Lol

If I am between a 6 night and 7 night stay what would be better/easier when FD drops book more days and then drop one or book less and try to add? I know I should just go with 7 but DH job may not allow for the extra night and I won't know until mid May - I imagine dropping a day is easier but is it allowed??

I've had better luck dropping, but either could be a problem.

We have season passes to Hersey. I delivered to Dutch wonderland once last fall. They had to come out with a forklift and get the stuff because the truck won't fit under the monorail. On Tuesday there was track for a rollercoaster all over the parking lot.

Brazilians agencies received the info about the free dining plan offer and they are very strict. No POFQ, no POR, October is entirely excluded. A 4 day stay with 4 Days park-hopper are required.
Well if they're requiring a four day ticket with park hopper we're out because were Florida residence and we always get the two day park hopper and then convert it and it'll be too expensive for us for the 4 day tickets. I hope the room only discounts are really good because we want to take our grandson in November.

My first trip was at 2...don't really remember it but apparently I spilled oj all over my dad on the flight down! Haha My mom is a Disney addict so she got me hooked! I've lost count as to how many times I've been to Disney world and Disneyland....probably about 14 or 15. In the 90s my great aunt was the secretary for the CEO of MetLife. MetLife sponsored the cranium command ride so her boss (the CEO) used to get free tickets and hotel stays at Disney. He would often give them to her and she would give them to us! Many of my visits were compliments of Michael Eisener! Now I'm hooked and begging for free dining so I can keep going back....no ones giving me free tickets anymore! Lol:(
