My first Disneyland was summer of 91. Went with my aunt and her family, my brother and I did. We baby sat on spring break and all summer. They paid for everything and gave us both a little spending cash. The only down side was being 17 and 16 and having to stay with the family the whole time. The only alone time my brother and I got was during the parade. We didn't want to see it so we were free, we went on Star Tours about three times in a row. Now the first time I went to Disneyworld was with my partner and her mother. I was going for a writing confrence, and they were coming for the fun. We stayed at Whydhmm, but every time since then has been at PoP. I've been five times to DW and DL not sure since its within driving distance.

I was raised to be a Disney fanatic. My first trip was at 6 mo old! My dad's whole family went down and stayed at the camp site. The first childhood memory I have is of the waterfall at the Polynesian pool when I was about 2.5.

My first trip was in 1992, when I was 24. My family couldn't afford to go when I was a kid. It just so happened that I had a good job as a designer and illustrator and so could pay for a trip for me and my Mom very easily. Then my Mom's best friend, who happened to be my sister's mother-in-law, came aboard with two of her daughters. The oldest daughter and I planned which resort. It was between the Contemporary and the Polynesian, and the Poly won. There was no such thing as FP then, so we stood in lots of lines. The first attraction I ever rode at WDW was 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

This has nothing to do with your post, but with your Star Trek tagline....we just saw that episode of Star Trek the other night. Neither my husband or I remember ever seeing it before, but I'm sure we had. Too funny!!

My parents went to DL for their Honeymoon. Growing up we went more times than I could count. My first time to WDW was 2000. Longest time I ever spent at WDW was 7 weeks in 2014. I've been to WDW more than I can count too. This winter my brother, sisters and myself sent our parents to WDW for 3 months to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Disney is in our blood.
You stayed at disney for 7 weeks? That must have been one huge bill. :scared:

First time at DL was 1990 for the 35th anniversary. My sister and I were on a trip with a youth group. We had less than a full day. When our parents asked us in 1992 where we wanted to go for holidays (PS they never asked us before) My sister and I both said Disneyland. Our other sister said the lake- we both gave her the evil eye.

First trip to WDW was 1999. My sister (that loves Disney almost as much as me) and I took our cousins, we stayed at ASMo. We also did Universal that trip.

OK, I'll play along. My first trip was to Disneyland in 1971 when I was 9. We lived in San Francisco at the time and my parents told us we'd leave Christmas morning. My sister and I woke them up at 3 am. LOL My next trip was to WDW in 1984 with my first wife on our honeymoon. Epcot hadn't been open very long. Then my next trip was 2004 with my second wife and our son, who was 10. That's when I really became hooked, being able to see it through my son's eyes. We aren't able to go very often. This year will be the first time I've been back since 2008...with my son, who's now 23. Just makes it all the more special.

I must say it makes me giggle when people are 'giving up' or 'getting frustrated' waiting for FD to be dropped.

We're early folks! Historically FD has dropped:
2014 - May 7, 2014
2015 - April 27, 2015
2016 - April 25, 2016

It's only April 13th! Yes, we're all excited for FD to drop but historically speaking, we're too early!!! It's like being mad that Santa hasn't arrived yet when it's only December 13th!

Don't get frustrated or give up, just hang out here with the rest of us enjoying the anticipation and participate in the little side-bar topics that are bouncing around as we all wait together.

A new topic to discuss: How old were you on your first Disney trip and at what age did you become a Disney fanatic! (And yes, I know most/all of you are considered Disney fanatics as we've been hanging out here together for a while now!)

My first trip was in 9th grade in 1980 but I would say I became a fanatic in 2003 when I first took my niece. I've been to Disney 31 times and counting. :)
I became a Disney fanatic our very first trip which was in 2009. This year will be trip #8 and I'm always obsessed with planning for the next one. :mickeyjum
