Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

I run with my phone in my flipbelt and my earbuds snaked up my shirt. It does the job fine, I would just like to be free of extra stuff on me sometimes. It seems nice to just have a watch on my wrist (either apple watch or garmin) and then a little ipod shuffle that clips to my sports bra or shirt.

I meant what are you using it for. Are you using a running app on it and you want to replace that? Or you're using it as an "in case of emergency" device?

If using it just for an app, replace it with a garmin etc. If you want the phone function then the apple watch makes more sense.

Do you have a Road ID? As their site says, it speaks for you in case of emergency when you can't.

I need inspiration to run today. My ribs feel like they are in a vice due to a muscle spasm in my back.

Chiropractor. Go. I can't imagine running like that!

The plan is to enjoy the weekend without the 8 year old. The husbeast and I haven't been away from him in five years. We are planning to just eat our way through Epcot, which we didn't get to do last time because the boy was bored, and tired, and didn't like anything there...
Ohhh think about that on your run! Epcot has great food and to eat your way around the world sounds fun.

We want to do the Kitchen Sink on our family trip in September but I can't get reservations! There are 5 of us so I am reluctant to try just waling up without one. I could get just my DD25 and I in during W&D but I don't think the 2 of us are up to that much ice cream, lol!
I know I'm not. I'm going with one maybe two others and we probably can't eat that much but we're darn sure going to try.

Fun question! For Princess I'm looking forward to the Monorail Crawl that I have planned after the race. Yes, I'm a vacation lush.

Has everyone planned what ADRs, if any, they're going to go for? I'm about 3 weeks out from my 180 days. :flower:

We've been discussing our dining options over the past week or so. We know we want to eat at our usual favorites (Sanaa, Raglan Road, Sci-Fi) and are considering trying some places that are new to us: Kona Cafe (never been to the Poly), The Wave or Grand Floridian Cafe (never been to GF, either), San Angel Inn (bf loves the water ride at the Mexico Pavilion, so it would be a special treat to be able to dine there) and Via Napoli (because, pizza).

Since we aren't going to any of the parks during our PHM trip, we are hoping to get into 1900 Park Fare for an early dinner the night before race day!

Which music apps are good? I must admit I run while using my Shuffle which has music from, oh, 10 years ago (Green Day, One Republic) and was thinking I should research and change it up. Looking for songs that have the same beats per minute as "Jesus of Suburbia" which I use because it's long (9 minutes - and I disregard the words). So, what should I look for and what's the best way to search?

Spotify has a feature that you can find good music to run to based on your pace while running. Though I haven't tried it yet, I have heard good things about it from other runners!

Ooooh Monorail Crawl I've never thought of doing that before. That sounds like a good idea.

I'm about that out from the 180 days. We want to the BOG for dinner (my friend's favorite restaurant because she's a huge Beauty and the Beast fan) since I haven't done it yet. B&C for the kitchen sink, and maybe breakfast somewhere we haven't decided yet. We're going without the dining plan and may just bring some food for our room for pre-race and do counter service for the rest of post-race.

There was a helpful post on Buzzfeed just yesterday on this very topic: http://www.buzzfeed.com/nicolenguyen/keep-running-forrest#.pg9j4Ab4b
Under the Music Motivators heading, you'll find several apps available for helping your runs. I highly recommend Rock My Run, since it's free for both iOS and Android, and it customizes your playlist so that all of the songs are between 120-140bpm. "Jesus of Suburbia" has 132bpm, so it's right in that range.

Thank you, @britterbell and @Luv2Run! I'll check out the link and sites. Then, I'll need to find a belt that fits my iPhone 6+ and I'll be good to go!

I had such a fun time doing the monorail crawl!! We had a glow-tini at the Wave, Lupa Lupa at Tambu Lounge and a nightcap at Minzers after dinner. Now with Trader Sam's, that has to be included on the monorail crawl. I'd also try and get a drink at Cali Grill, the view from up there is amazing!

It is better now. I did some stretching. I desperately need a massage but my therapist doesn't work weekends and I can't get in until summer vacation is over in two weeks. I love her because she does sports massage and she finds knots I never even knew I had.

Kona's breakfast is amazing. It's on our list over and over every time we visit. Highly recommend it.

Started week 4 of Jeff galloway today. Did 1.83 miles with run/walk. Felt better than usual and hoping that my body starts to like this whole running thing. For those of you that used his app, when did you change it form 1 min / 1 min run to longer running periods?

Back to running tonight after a brief hiatus!

My doctor advised me not to run while taking the antibiotic Cipro as it has been linked to tendon rupture! I've been there, done that with my Achilles in 2005 and do not care to go thru that again!

It felt great to be back on the trail!
