Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

we booked PP for tinkerbell, its turning into the one trip we stay at a DL resort hotel.
All other visits/runs are off-site -- for SW its going to be BW Stovalls Inn, first time staying there and on that side of the resort for an off-site hotel

I think you'll love it! We did PPH for Tink in 2013 and Star Wars in 2014. I thought it was totally worth it if you can swing it! Loved being SO close to the corrals! We were gonna do PPH again for Star Wars but making the switch to BW Stovalls is basically gonna pay for my Tink solo trip. Maybe next year I'll get to do PPH again!

Tell me how GC and/or DL Hotel are and I will live vicariously through you.

I think my husband is letting me plan for it because I'm sad that my baseball team is like an awful little league team. :(

If I got to stay in those hotels I might be tempted to always wish the worst on my already terrible baseball team. :rotfl2:

My only word of warning/caution/advice. It is EXTREMELY easy to train and train for months and months for a race like Princess, come home, and stop running. Especially if you do not enjoy it at all. Then your next race you are just in a world of hurt for not continuing to train. So my advice. Run the Princess. Enjoy it. Love it. Come home. Maybe just maybe take a week off from running. Then start back up with where ever the Galloway training program is when you get home. If you get home and the Galloway program is at week 6, then do what the plan says for week 6. That way your training will be a little easier than you are used to, but it gives you a strong foundation to run Tinkerbell.

I started out with 3 halfs in 2013 spaced fairly far apart. This year I'll complete 15 halfs including the Dopey Challenge, Pixie Dust, and W&D. I just completed one 2 weeks ago, and have another in 2 weeks, followed by one the following week then just 2 weeks until W&D. I come home from W&D with one the following weekend.

I really do not truly enjoy running either. But I'd rather be strong and active than the opposite. Find a focus or a purpose. Disney and Disney Bling is a great focus. If you're already at 10.5-12.5 M/M, you got this. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

So what would you recommend for someone who is running W&D, Princess, then Tink with no races (planned anyway) in between? I want and will need to take some time off from training but would like to train strong for Princess and Tink after W&D. Maybe focus on running faster or running longer (right now I'm an interval runner running an 11 min mile using said intervals) is 1-2 weeks off too much considering the placement of Princess and Tink not only in relationship to each other but Princess' relationship to W&D?

Depends on what training plan you're using, I think. I'm planning on using a 12-week Hal Higdon plan for Princess, and that won't start until the first week of December.

You could definitely throw in a few speed bursts here and there to try to bring down your overall running pace. :)

So this is going to be my first DL trip, and run. I know they're both super close to the parks but for the race is DL Hotel or PP going to be better? Does it even matter? I'm not booking till I come back from W&D but I need to start actually thinking about this because I've just been giddy and annoying that I get to go to DL haha

They're both pretty close, but I tried to get PPH for Tink and it was full. That may make the decision for you!

It's not a bad runner up hotel at all! I had my mind set on PPH for some reason though. Oh well.

I told my husband that I'm taking a 'break' from rundisney races for a bit after Tink in May. We're running W&D next weekend, WDW Half in January, Glass Slipper Challenge in February, and the Pixie Dust Challenge in May. I'm going out with a bang! Not sure how my legs will feel come May though  :faint: I told myself I'll do the WDW Marathon and the DL Half in 2018 which will start my obsession again  :donald:

I'm going to need some real pixie dust y'all....
