Official 2013 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Thread

I was so sad to hear that about the expo. I think that's something Disney needs to hear from us!

I know Sparkle Skirts didn't get a booth at marathon weekend- Leah and Tom are driving around with the van full of skirts and delivering orders. Also made arrangements to meet some prospective buyers to try on. It's so sad.

RP made me cry when I saw they weren't coming. HELLO. PRINCESS ?!?! They NEED to be there. Just wrong.

Cripey- the airline thing- I dont know. Can you call, see if there is an alternate flight not on the dreamliner that they would be willing to switch you to now instead of waiting for the decision? If you get the jump and call now- maybe?

That is really sad to hear about Sparkle Skirts. I can't imagine all the business they have lost not being at the expo.
I'm wondering why the other skirt company is allowed to be at the expo ??

Wow, what customer service! It's sad she has to do that. I wanted really badly to send a strongly worded email when I read Hippie Runners post this AM, but restrained. Working for ABC, I am an employee of the Disney company sooooo thought it might not be the best idea. However, I still want to find a way to express my disappointment. I could just type something up and have my mom send it for me

Sigh...been a rough night, y'all. The BF (who, thank God, was off today and at home resting and preparing for his race this weekend) called as I was leaving work to say my cat, Crybaby, was sick and had been vomiting...and it was beginning to come out red. He packed her up and took her to the ER, where I met him as soon as I could get there. She's still there now, getting some tests run. Dr. Didn't think she was in immediate serious danger as she seemed to have stopped vomiting while we were there and otherwise seemed ok. I felt better about that, but we're still waiting for them to call with any news. This could end up being an all night thing . My poor baby...she's 13, so I know it's time to realize this could be the beginning of some issues that are going to come with age. I hate to think about it though . And, whoa...This little dr. visit is going to assure I won't be coming home with anything fun and frivolous from the Tink expo. Ouch! I now hope the Minnie New Balance are sold out in my size by the time I get there...it's gonna be hard to pass them by if they aren't.

My 18 year old Lacey is sending kitty pixie dust to Crybaby.

I know how you feel right now. About once a year for last 5 or 6 years we have had something come up that makes us think we won't have her for much longer and then she pulls through.

Hopefully Crybaby will be home quickly and it will not cost as much as you think.

Thanks everyone...they finally called around midnight for me to go pick her up. Basically an arm and both legs later, they couldn't really find anything wrong and suggested if it started again that I take her to a specialist....but more than likely its just some Temporary GI upset and the wretching that cats do when they vomit is probably what caused enough stomach irritation to cause the blood. I'm so glad it wasn't something more serious. She immediately ate a few bites when we got home, so I think that's a good sign. I'm so exhausted...not used to being up half the night like that!

Going a bit stir crazy here since my decision to stay off my leg as much as possible and skip workouts until I get to the starting line. I am going to try to get the bulk of my packing done this weekend. I have a few little things I want to pick up before we leave on Thurs. How is everyone spending this last week before the race?

Does anyone know what type of breakfast offerings they have at BW Stovall's? We'll be there 5 nights and hope the breakfast will work for us.

I'm glad to hear Kitty is better! Sorry about the $$$ though- darn Murphy!

I spent all last week sick- so no running. On the mend now, and thinking I need to do a little this week just so my body isn't shocked when the race comes. But Probably not a regular run week... not sure yet.

Also working on packing. Started going through my office pulling out all my normal running stuff and starting my pile! I'll try to get 90% packed by Monday I think. Leaving early Thursday morning.

The weather has me excited- it looks nice for runners. I'll complain about being cold first thing in the morning- lol- but I'll be so happy by mile 2!

Almost there Tinks! Watching the FB and Twitter updates for Marathon has me very excited!

Basically an arm and both legs later, they couldn't really find anything wrong and suggested if it started again that I take her to a specialist....but more than likely its just some Temporary GI upset and the wretching that cats do when they vomit is probably what caused enough stomach irritation to cause the blood. I'm so glad it wasn't something more serious. She immediately ate a few bites when we got home, so I think that's a good sign. I'm so exhausted...not used to being up half the night like that!

Does anyone know what type of breakfast offerings they have at BW Stovall's? We'll be there 5 nights and hope the breakfast will work for us.

They seem to mix it up. Think more of a continental breakfast with tons of sugary items, donuts, cereals, coffee, etc. There is ususally fruit, eggs (in some form) and toast/bagels. I really hope there are bananas this time. But I guess we have to wait and see.
If you want something a little more healthy or more of a real breakfast, there is a Coco's (on the corner of the property) that can deliver to your room.

I checked with my DH (who always goes down for the breakfast) and he said last time there were two egg options and yogurt too.

I've been stalking the weather in Anaheim too and it's looking great! BF went to the Houston marathon expo today to get his packet...I stayed behind with my kitty to keep an eye on her...she's all snuggled up with me right now...awwww! BF surprised me with some new Hippie Runner bands...one that will go great for Tink, and two new Bee Cause crown shoe charms...they are so cute! I'm so excited to get out and cheer tomorrow, even if its still looking like its gonna be a wet one. Hanging around his first few races and cheering him on is what got me into this I the first place...it's so infectious!

Thanks at midnight they were like 'well you can leave her overnight if you don't want to get out to come get her this late'...that was the other arm they wanted, lol. I'm less than 10 minutes away, I'm coming!

Hope everyone is packed and getting ready to go !!!!

I woke up this morning with a cold I started taking more Emerg C and Airborne and I am going to think positive that this will be short lived.

The weather is looking even better, all except the chilly mornings. Can't wait for the cold front we are having passes and we stop making record colds.

Am I the only one that HAS to have a clean house before a trip ????
