Official 2012 Princess 1/2 marathon thread part 2

Don't the real bathrooms get crowded? I'd hate to waste time if I could just use a port a potty and carry some hand sanitizer.

I started in the front of B two years ago and the real bathrooms were empty. I probably wasted a few more mins in there then i would of in a portapotties (hello real sink with soap and water!) but it was worth it. i usually don't have to stop for a half so i was annoyed i had to, but what could you do?

Got my outfit together!!

The tshirt didn't come in black but I like the red cap sleeves.

What do you think?

Starting to seem real now - made a Character breakfast reservation at Cape May for my friend and myself on Sunday at 10:30. She hasn't been to Disney since she was a kid, so thought it would be a good place to carb back up before we hit Epcot and Studios for the day. Thinking we'll be good on time as we can walk back to Boardwalk (have park tix with us) then over to Cape May. Anyone disagree?

Also, any other Richmonder's going down?

Any advice on Race Retreat timing? I purchased it for my sis and I and want to get "ample use" of it. Is taking a taxi from BLT at 3:00am too early? I know the race retreat opens at that time. Our thinking is we can eat bfast there, check bags before people come in and camp out and get a good spot in there.

Any advice? thanks!

Even though I won't be running this year due to my injuries, I'm still willing to drive FIVE princesses comfortably in my van. It's new and clean and I have a clean DL record! :cool1: I'm willing to make one trip from Bay Lake and can leave as early as 3am. Please PM me and we can exchange cell numbers and meet in the BLT lobby the night before so we know what everyone looks like.

Ortho follow-up on Tuesday. Will see if he advises a scooter for WDW as I'm still out of work with multiple stress fractures. Vroooommmmmm!

On the discussion of real bathrooms here is what I noticed during marathon weekend... I started in corral C, but with picture stops I was probably with corral D or E people when I actually ran through MK. The TTC bathrooms had a line when I stopped and since I could wait I decided to run to MK to those. The Tomorrowland bathrooms had a shorter line, but I still passed those. Frontierland had no line. There were maybe 4-5 others in there when I stopped, but the restroom is probably one of the biggest in MK.
In short- stop in frontierland if you have to pee and want real restrooms.

Yeah that is a big bathroom since they renovated it! If I remember I think there are 3 sections of stalls :thumbsup2 Even on our trips around the 4th of July we have NEVER waited in a line at that bathroom, its just that big!!

SO CUTE!!! I love it!! princess:

I gotta get off my lazy butt and post pics of my outfit too :lmao:

Thanks for all the restroom info. I feel better knowing there are 3 real restrooms to choose from. If I can I will hold out for frontierland, but have a feeling i will be stopping at the first ones.

You know we've all been to WDW a lot when we're experts on the bathroom options and specifics to compare them. :rotfl2: It's especially good to know now!

:lmao: My uncle has always said me and my family should write a book on Disney bathrooms! We seriously know which ones are the best, which ones are consistently nasty, we have our favorites, we have our ones that will do in a pinch... Yeah we are *that* kind of Disney nuts :lmao:

I actually took a picture of Julie last year next to the "Women" sign of the Tomorrowland bathroom b/c I felt like I visited that spot more than any other in the MK!!!:rotfl: It played such a part in my vacation that I had to get a picture of "our" bathroom!

Bathrooms.....I stopped at Tomorrowland, I was in Corral B, maybe did 13mm. when I got there, short line, like maybe 5 people in front of me but it MOVED. Then that glorious splash of water on my face! Just before the castle photo too. ;-) I am NOT in this for time, so yeah, its worth the wait for the splash of water, toilet paper, flushed potty and soap and water. You can also do a quick mirror check before castle photo. Oh and lots of ladies were going in the mens room since only like 400 men ran the race.

PRmama....CUTE! Love those tights. I think I would be too hot though, so I am wearing either capris or probably just biker shorts under my skirt. Like the red! You are gonna look great.

Please send me your prayers, thoughts, heeling mojo. My heal is a little tight so thinking of doing just 5 today and 10 next weekend....then that is it for my distance, hoping not to hurt myself during the race but ESP not before! I really hate Plantar Faciities and Tibial Tedonitis. But hey, I did 9 ok a couple weeks ago...... SO CLOSE! Can't wait though....I will crawl if I have to! My main goal is to always just make it through that castle and every mile after that is gravy.

Definitely sending healing prayers and thoughts to everyone that needs them (myself included:sad1:). I have a thermacare wrap on my right hip but it's not as hot as I'd like. I'm going crazy fishing the Internet for what my problem might be so I can't wait until my doc appointment on Monday. I read something about acetabular labral tear that sounds similar to my symptoms but i dont want to kill myself guessing about bad diagnosisis (sp?).

This not only sucks because my hip keeps locking up, but also because I have to shell out $500 car deductible and a $200 medical deductible all because of this idiot. I'm so upset because that's money I could be using for Disney.

Free pixie, love your outfit. I also would be way too hot with tights. Last year, I wore a tutu for the princess half, and donated it /ditched it at about mile 5.

I have been reading about the Tinkerbell Expo and what merchandise is available. It sounds like good gear, and I am hoping the princess will be as good. We did not get to the Princess expo until mid day Saturday last year, and the shelves were fairly bare. I got to the DL Expo last fall the day it opened and managed to spend a lot! They had great jackets, etc.

My training has been curtailed this week with a virus. I had planned a long run for today or tomorrow but that will not happen. Good luck to everyone in their final weeks of training and stay healthy.

First off, I hope you feel better soon! There was a virus going around my office and building last week, but luckily I've managed to avoid it.

I did notice that when I was at the Princess last year that things were going fast. I don't think you necessarily have to be there too early, but you definitely don't want to wait around.

These expo's are dangerous... well for wallets at least. Between the race merchandise and the venders there, it tends to get a little crazy. I'm going in with a set list of things I want to get/look at and I'm not going to budge cause otherwise I'm going to spend too much!

Good luck, all, with runs this weekend! I've got 2 more "long" long runs on the schedule - today's 11 miler and a 12 in 2 weeks. SaySay - go for 10! Or, at the very least, don't limit yourself to just 5. Make a deal with your body and go for as long as you think you can. You might surprise yourself, just like you did with your 9! Even if something tightens up, you've still got 4 weeks to work it out. Find your Chi, girl!:rotfl2: You looked great when we were running together last week. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to stalking airline websites.....

Love the outfit!!! Very cute! I look forward to seeing everyone's outfit out on the course. It makes it fun walking along.

To everyone suffering with injuries/illnesses/car accidents/or just plain bad luck - we feel your pain knowing it is close to the race! Sending out positive thoughts and prayers to all of you!!!

Tapering has begun. I feel like I just started training. I did 11 miles two weeks ago and then 9 miles today. I did have to put up with a mother of knot in my calf, which I have no idea how I got in the first place. I massaged some bengay into the area last night, which hurt so much. I had no idea my thumbs could inflict that kind of pain on my calf :rotfl: I did the same massage this morning before putting on the calf sleeve, and it held up well. I just hope it doesn't take me long to massage it out. It's not fun.

WHOOOO! Got 11 on the books today! Miles 8-11 were tough, but I was lucky that it was a beautiful day so I could at least enjoy the sunshine, which we didn't have a lot of here in the last week or 2. Calves were tight but no actual pain and NO shin pain, so that's all good. Just the usual body aches that come with your body rejecting the notion of running that long! I had been doing 5/1 intervals in training but wanted to see how I would do going back to running a mile and then walking a minute intervals. Did surprisingly well and for me it made it seem to go by quicker. Mama Odie cheered me on at the end; "Dig a Little Deeper" came on and I thought of you, Michele! "Dig a little deeper, find out who you are!" :thumbsup2
